December 31, 2024

Welcome to Dressed for My Day on this final day of 2024. As the year comes to an end, I’ve been receiving so many emails and messages from you sweet readers telling me how helpful my content here and on the YouTube channel has been to you. That is extremely humbling, but also quite gratifying to hear because my goal is always to provide you with some real take-away value. In that vein, I thought it would be fun to share with you the top 24 most popular blog posts of 2024 here at DFMD.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

Running these year-in-review blog posts is indeed fun, but I do it more for my own good. I like to find out what brings people to my website, what resonates with readers and what fashion dilemmas are driving your research. When I run my analytics and discover the blog posts with the most traffic, it helps me to create a content calendar for the next year that I think you will enjoy.

However, there is one caveat. The 24 blog posts I’m sharing with you today are the posts here at DFMD that saw the most traffic over 2024. But some of them were actually written in other years, even as far back as 2021. I’ll definitely be updating those soon so that they have more current information in them.

But also I have a feeling that the analytics here reflect more NEW reader habits than faithful follower preferences. Know what I mean? These are probably the blog posts women found as they were searching for answers online or in Pinterest. But I also want to know what resonated with YOU, my faithful readers and subscribers. So please enjoy this list. But afterwards I’d love for you to drop a comment and let me know what types of blog posts you usually like reading. If you remember a particular one or two you enjoyed, you could definitely list them. But really I just want to know the type of post – real life outfits, how to style ________, 3 ways to wear __________, trend reports, 2024 style series, etc. – resonate with you most and keep you coming back.

These are the top 24 most popular blog posts in 2024 listed in order from 24 to number 1. You can click on the name of the blog post, the photo or the caption underneath the photo to visit these popular blog posts.

24 – Modern White Jeans Outfit for Early Spring

I have a feeling this spring blog post was popular because it features some classic pieces, such as white jeans, a cotton sweater, a trench coat and a pretty silk scarf. I know that many of my readers gravitate to these classics. Am I right?

I’m busy right now planning my content calendar for 2025, and you can bet you’ll find more posts like this one here all year.

23 – Denim Trends Fall 2024

While I do think most of my readers like having a classic closet, I also know that most of us know the value of staying current. Thus trend blog posts and videos do well.

22 – What to Wear to a Funeral or Memorial Service (2023)

Ahh, good. I see my assistant Lucy notated the posts that were written and published in years before 2024. This post with ideas about how to dress for a funeral or memorial service was very popular last year, but women continued to find it this year as well. It’s a somber but necessary subject, I think.

see original blog post

I’ll definitely be updating that post this year. That said, I still have the entire outfit shown above (minus the blouse) and would probably wear this very thing to a funeral this spring, if needed…heaven forbid.

21 – Accessory Trends for Fall 2024

Here’s another trend report. You’ll see several of these in our top 24 blog posts.

see original blog post here

I think women who want to look a little stylish care about accessories. We know that they can transform an outfit from blah to chic with just a little effort.

20 – How to Define Your Personal Style

After completing our 2024 Style Series just recently, I’m very pleased to see this capstone blog post in our list.

see original blog post here

We’ll be starting two new blog series soon. Meanwhile, if you want more information on defining your personal style, I also recommend checking out this recent YouTube Video.

19 – My Talbots Spring 2024 Favorites

Of course our list is a little spring post heavy because those posts have had more time over the span of the year to gain readers. So we’re going to see more of them than fall posts.

Spring 2024 Talbots Favorites
see original blog post here

That said, I think we’re always eager to see new spring fashions when winter finally begins to break. I mean one of the reasons I’m putting a style series into place is to keep me from moving right into spring fashion now. Hahaha!

18 – My New Spring Outfit from Talbots

And yes, you will notice that there are a number of posts in our top 24 that feature fashions from Talbots. I know that my readers, like me, love Talbots.

That’s not to say that Talbots is perfect. LOL! Personally, I’m not too into their newest collection. However, I did order this dress and it’s a WINNER. I’ll be featuring it in a blog post next week.

17 – How to Create Chic Coastal Grandmother Outfits (2022)

Here’s a post from 2022 that continues to garner attention. While the buzz about the coastal grandmother style has died down a bit, women still want to know how to wear this fairly classic aesthetic.

Honestly, I like it, too, even if it’s no longer all the rage. What about you? Do you think I should update this post, maybe this summer?

16 – 5 Secrets the Most Stylish Women Know

Here’s another post from our 2024 style series, Define Your Style…Refine Your Wardrobe. In fact, it’s the first post in the series, so it’s a good place to start if you haven’t already read it.

5 Secrets the Most Stylish Women Know
see original blog post here

I guess we all want to know the secrets that other women seem to know. You know what the biggest secret is? That you can indeed be stylish and look great on any given day. So many women tell me that they honestly didn’t think it was possible, especially as they got older. But nothing thrills me more than hearing from women who tell me they’ve “gotten their style back!”

15 – Early Fall Fashion Trend Report 2024

This Early Fall Fashion Trend Report 2024 was probably popular because a) it a trend report and b) it’s a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale post.

Early Fall Trend Report 2024
see original blog post here

I think this may be the only Nordstrom Anniversary Sale post in the top 24, but it’s always a popular series all the same. Many women enjoy shopping this pre-season sale along with me. And I even have a special newsletter called NSale NSiders that you can sign up for if you want all the coverage. The sale is traditionally in July.

14 – How to Wear Socks with Pants Stylishly this Winter (2023)

I wrote a similar post this fall focusing on wearing socks with loafers, but this popular blog post was published in 2023.

How to Wear Sock with Pants this Winter
see original blog post here

It was a high-traffic post last year, too. Evidently us women want to know how to wear socks when it’s cold outside. Can I get an “amen?”

13 – Talbots & J.Jill Try On Session – November 2024

Again, I’m noting that my readers are generally interested in Talbots posts, but also J.Jill. Even more importantly, I find that during the week a post comes out, readers really show up for my try-on posts.

see original blog post here

Let me know if you’d like to see more try-on posts than I already do or if you think I cover those pretty well already. I tend to forget about these actually and have to remind myself to do them occasionally. Are there other retailers you’d like for me to do them at? That said, while I’m open to your suggestions, I do have to consider that some stores just don’t have lighting or inventory conducive to a good try-on session.

12 – Swimsuit Guide for Women Over 50

Swimsuit guides tend to do pretty well every year. I HATE writing them. Ha! But I know we all need a little help finding suits that suit!

11 – What I Packed for a Week in London (2023)

I travelled to London in August, 2023, so this is another older post. But obviously as women prepare to travel they search out posts like this one for a little guidance. Funny, I was just thinking about this trip today and considering how I’d probably pack for it a little differently if I were to do it again.

I liked most everything I took and wore, but I do wish I’d taken a dress or two. For some reason I just wasn’t in the mood to pack a dress for that trip. I don’t know how else to explain it really. Hahaha! But I would take one or two now. Anyhow, do you think I should update this post or write a similar one…even though I’m not going to London this year? Or maybe I need to go and call it blog research. Hmm.

10 – The Fashion-Forward Way to Wear Sneakers & Socks

Ahh, look. Here’s another sock post! No doubt the post about socks and loafers will pop up in this list next year. But this post, sponsored by Bombas, was specifically about wearing crew socks with sneakers and casual outfits.

the Fashion-Forward Way to Wear Sneakers and Socks
see original blog post here

It is indeed a fashion forward look, maybe a little youthful for many of us. Or at least it was fashionable last spring. I’m not sure about now… I’ll have to check that out.

9 – 10 Things to Remove from Your Closet to Refine Your Wardrobe

While this is indeed the third post from our 2024 style series to end up in the top 24 list, it’s also actually an older post. I originally wrote this blog post back in (I think) 2019. Yeah, that was a long time ago. LOL!

10 Things to Remove from Your Closet to Refine Your Wardrobe
see original blog post here

But I updated it and spiffed up the artwork a good bit to use it in our style series. So I imagine this post got a lot of love when I re-published it this fall, but also through search engine traffic.

8 – Mother of the Bride or Groom Dresses (originally published 2018, updated 2024)

It’s quite common and actually “best practice” for bloggers to update trending blog posts rather than write a new one on the same topic. That way you don’t compete with yourself in search engines. So this post has been updated every year since I wrote it in 2018, the year I began blogging here at DFMD.

see original blog post here

The difference is, I had never been a mother of the bride or groom in 2018, but I’ve been both now. So I’m pretty proud of this post. I’ll undoubtedly update it again soon.

7 – I’m Packing for an Alaskan Cruise in May

Packing wardrobe posts tend to do well with search engines, too. So I’m happy if my Alaskan cruise packing posts have helped other women who are preparing for similar trips.

Packing for An Alaskan Cruise
see original blog post here

I’m not an expert packer, by any means. I guess most of us learn as we go when it comes to travel. Unless you do a lot of it, packing for trips keeps changing because every excursion is a little different. But I always enjoy sharing what I pack.

6 – How to Minimize Large Upper Arms w/ Fashion + Fitness (2021)

Here’s another old post from 2021. Since this one obviously gets a lot of attention through search engines, I probably need to update it.

how-to-minimize-large-upper-arms-fitness-fashion-2
see original blog post here

I’m surprised that I haven’t already rewritten this one. But I did publish a video on the same topic this past spring. I think the topic is one that works better in video than a blog post. But I should make the effort here all the same.

5 – Styling Full Length Wide Leg Jeans for Early Fall

Staying up to date with denim trends is enough to keep us all searching for information. So it’s no surprise that this blog post came in at #5 in 2024.

Styling the wide leg full length jean
see original blog post here

The blog post was part of our Fall Denim Week 2024. Do you think I should do one of those again? Are there other similar topics that you think deserve a week of focus? Maybe white jeans for the spring?

4 – Fall 2024 Fashion Trends to Wear Now

Ahh, here come the fall fashion trends! Even if we love the classics, we want to know what’s in style each fall.

Fall 2024 Fashion Trends to Wear Now
see original blog post here

And this year a lot of classics were trending. Ha! I have loved that. What about you? I do hope that doesn’t change any time soon because I’m really enjoying leaning into classics and more minimalist and elegant approaches.

3 – The Trending COLORS of Fall/Winter 2024

Likewise, we all enjoy seeing what colors will be showing up in the stores in fall and winter. Let’s see, did we get it right this year?

see original blog post here

Yes, I think if you check back with that post you’ll see that those are indeed the colors that have prevailed in recent months. It’s always fun to check on the new colors. Speaking of the new colors…

2 – The Trending COLORS of Spring/Summer 2024

I guess the only thing more popular than the fall colors were the spring colors. Maybe that’s because we’re all so hungry for lighter and brighter by the winter time is coming to an end.

The Trending Colors of Spring/Summer 2024
see original blog post here

I’ve already been scouting out the color predictions for Spring 2025. That blog post will probably come out in February. I just don’t see any need to do it earlier because it makes it really hard for me to find illustrations.

1 – Instead of Shorts Wear These 11 Alternatives (updated annually)

Guess what! This blog post was also the number 1 blog post last year and in 2021. I don’t actually know what year I first wrote it in, but I do update this one annually. So many women over 50 want options to wear instead of shorts in the hot months. I get it. I do, too!

see original blog post here

Like I said, I’d love to hear from you today. Let me know if there are particular kinds of posts you enjoy most. I truly want to serve you in this space. I appreciate that many of these 24 popular blog posts are the ones that get women here to begin with when they are looking for answers. But I want to know about the kinds of blog posts that keep you coming back. What would serve you best in 2025?

Blessed for My Day

As we close out 2024, I have to ask you, was this a good year for you…or not? Maybe it was painful as you experienced significant losses or setbacks. Maybe it felt like a struggle. Maybe the election year, the economy or world events took a toll on you.

Here’s some good news. I don’t know what this year holds for you or for me. But I know the One who holds the future. The Lord will walk with us through 2025 just like He has through this year and the ones in the past. If we will lean into Him, we can take courage and have peace. Hard times may lie ahead, but we won’t walk through them alone. We can be victorious because He is our overcomer.

“These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” ~ John 16:33

  1. Thank you for all you do. You have challenged me to dress better, be more confident, and to stay focused on God. I would like to see more post where you show us less expensive items that are similar to higher end.

  2. Love the trends posts (colors & styles). How about one on what to do if you’re feeling blah about your wardrobe? How to get excited again?
How about one on how to best hide a tummy, since that is a problem area for most of us?
    You’re my favorite influencer!

  3. Thank you Kay so much for your insightful posts. I find a lot of them inspiring and refreshing. I especially loved the Style Series, as well as the trend reports for each season. I really enjoy your try-on sessions, as I usually get inspiration on how to style the clothes I already have and what I need to buy to fill in the gaps. Thanks again and Happy New Year!

  4. I like all your content as it is helpful & relevant & addresses such a wide range of issues. Mostly I want to know how to stay modern. But what keeps me coming back is your common sense, laid back & authentic approach no matter what the post focuses on.

  5. I really like the trends and how to style them. Also, anything analytical like the Style Series. My favorite recently was your “regrets” post. I still make mistakes and buy the wrong thing and was really beating myself up. I felt a lot better after reading your blog and seeing that you don’t always buy perfectly either! I am probably the only here that doesn’t like Talbots. Their pants don’t fit me and I don’t wear blazers and the colors are too loud. So whenever you feature other retailers, I can get a lot more out of it. YES on the Coastal Grandma updated post! I love that style. I also love when you post what you wore in real life. One thing that nobody addresses…do you wear the outfit all day even when at home or do you change into your “at home” clothes. That’s what I do and I think maybe I’m weird that way. I feel like I have two closets – “at home” and “out and about”.
    Thank you, Kay!

    1. No, Julie. You are not the only one here who doesn’t like Talbots! As much as I like the look on others, it doesn’t work for me. I need beefier sweaters and looser fitting pants. Etc. So I’m loving seeing Kay style Quince, BR, etc. I’ve learned a lot from her and from those followers who post on FB. Love this site!

  6. I look forward to your (almost) daily emails! They’re a great reminder that how I dress affects my day and influences those around me, and saves me time when I’m shopping for something new. I look forward to your posts on upcoming seasonal trends, and especially love it when you focus on the classics and neutral colors. We share a similar style esthetic and coloring, so I get so much inspiration from many of your posts. In reading the comments posted so far, I’d like to add a “me too!” for seeing more of in the coming year: how to hide a tummy, and less expensive options for your high end picks. As Jeanne said, you are my favorite influencer!

  7. I think I found your blog when I was trying to plan a travel wardrobe for a recent trip. I was also interested in capsule wardrobes but found many of them rather boring. Then I started reading the Style Series and found it so very informative and I was hooked! I now have a wardrobe that I am much happier with because I have defined my personal style. Kay, I really like how you don’t just show outfits, you provide helpful information and inspiration and you respond to your readers questions and interests (for example, the blog about how to wear socks). I enjoy the trend reports and how to style what is current, especially as it relates to the upcoming season. I would like to know more about how to curate a small section of my closet that would serve me well for special occasions.

  8. Kay, I eagerly look forward to your posts every single day! My day just isn’t the same when there is nothing in my inbox from you! What I love most about your blogs and videos is that you are practical, and down to earth in your fashion choices. You wear what I would wear and your posts help me to choose my day to day outfits with some thought rather than just grabbing something off my sweatpants pile! So would I would enjoy the most in this coming year is more “what I really wore” posts and outfits for real life. I do love the try on sessions as well and I LOVE hearing about your day to day life, your activities with your hubby and how you pack for your trips, as well as what trips you take! In other words, I pretty much love your posts all the time. Thank you for your hard work, and ow you share your spirituality. Blessed for My Day is very important reading for me. God bless you in 2025!

    1. I tire of all the posts on Talbots. There are so many other retailers to choose ftom. How about branching out a bit more, Kay?

  9. Thank you, Kay, for all of your posts that keep us looking forward to dressing for our days. My favorite ones are the Upcoming Seasonal Trends. I’m probably very much in the minority but I don’t like jeans so tend to skip over those posts. I love LL Bean and bought hiking shoes from them based on your recommendation. Would love to see a try-on session there. Like one of your other readers, I’ve never been a Talbot’s fan BUT I bought two things from them this year that I saw on your blog. Ha! I guess it pays to advertise. You have so many wonderful ideas to inspire us. Hope you and your family have a happy and healthy new year.

    1. Thanks for sharing Bonnie. I was just thinking this morning that LLBean would be a good place for a try-on. Ours is a good store and they have decent lighting and space, so it should work. I’ll definitely put it on the list for spring.

  10. Thank you, Kay, for working so hard to keep us stylishly current. I have enjoyed your posts every day but if I have to choose some favorites they would include spring trends, fall trends and how to style the different denim silhouettes. Happy New Year to you and James. May the Lord continue to bless you in 2025.

    1. Hi Michele, I get that question so often and it’s a really hard one these days. I think you’re probably looking for something lightweight, a little silky, feminine that would look pretty under a blouse. But most seem to be cotton these days. I like the cotton ones for daily wear under a sweater. But they look a little clunky and juvenile under a blouse to me. All that said, I think everyone has different preferences so I made a product collection of about 18 options in my LTK shop for you. You can check them out here https://liketk.it/51uCP Keep in mind that many of them come in a variety of colors so click through for all the options.

  11. I enjoyed the style series. The Talbots Spring and Fall style series and colors of Spring and Fall. What to wear instead of shorts and ways to wear white pants. I would also like to see more affordable series that are similar to the high end and how to hide the tummy area series. I love the BFMD each day, God bless you and your family in the year ahead.

  12. I enjoy reading all your posts! My favorites are the style series and ones that give tips like proportions, coloring… I also like the ones where you style a piece different ways.

Thanks for all you do and I hope you had a good restful holiday!

  13. Hi Kay!
I really liked your post about what to wear to a funeral—nobody ever talks about dressing for that event but every one of us has attended a funeral and has had to dress appropriately. Frankly, since many people do not attend church, they often have a hard time deciding what to wear to funerals, baptisms, confirmations, and of course, weddings, especially if they have a role in the proceedings.
I loved the “things to remove from your closet” post too as that hit close to home! And I always love the try on sessions because you’re a real person with a realistic body, unlike the models in the catalogs and online sites.
It’s fun to see trending colors, too. Love that!
Finally I did appreciate seeing your mistakes from this year and why the items didn’t work out. I have had plenty of fashion mistakes and it’s expensive and annoying. Your post will help me think more carefully about my purchases. I am guilty of wanting to buy things for the life I think I would like to have, not the one I actually have (I’m talking to YOU, stupid black fringed dinner dress!) and it was helpful to read that you struggle with the same thing at times. Thank you!
Best to you and yours in 2025!

  14. Kay, your gentle, kind spirit was what drew me to your videos and blogposts. No matter the content, it is always presented in a “we’re all in this and learning together” way. A topic that really interests me is the evolution of your outfits. How did the styling evolve from initial try on of an outfit to the final look. What were your thoughts as you decided what did and did not work. It’s one thing to know style basics and another to see it in real life. Thank you for what you do, reminding us all that we matter and deserve to show up each day in a way that makes us feel our best and authentic s

  15. My favorite thing to wear is a soft flannel shirt with a solid color matching shirt under it. Such a great look for fall and winter. This style hides figure flaws. I have a green set like the one you wore early this fall. You can get great clothes from Blair at a great price.

  16. Kay,
My favorite posts were your “Define Your Style” series. That has been so helpful as I have retired and I am trying to figure out what to wear in my real life. My corporate uniform is no longer appropriate.

I do also appreciate your trend reports.

Thank you for having the “look for less” options
    as well.

Thank you for all the work you put in to make this blog my favorite!

  17. Kay, I love them all! I love seeing how you put your everyday outfits together, I love seeing how you style one item different ways, I love the style tips you give, I love the season previews you give. I appreciated your honesty in letting us know there are some purchases you regret, and others that were the best! You are doing a wonderful job of helping us women think about what we put on our bodies and whether it complements us or Is not the best look for us. I think I get many more complements on what I am wearing since I have been applying your style tips. And the best part is, I feel like I am representing myself well, and ultimately, representing the Lord well. I feel like I am showing how well the Lord is caring for me by being well groomed and put together. Thank you for putting so much effort into sharing what you have learned over the years with all of us.

  18. For Spring/Summer, I would enjoy seeing more posts similar to your post ‘coastal grandmothers,’ but I’m not coastal nor a grandmother, but I’m in my 60s and retired. I find it hard to put together casual looks after years of dressy office wear. Matching linen outfits in pretty soft colors, plus other fabrics like a print capri and a solid top. All with simple flat or low heel sandals, or a slim look tennis shoe. Imagine being in the hot South, shopping at an outside mall with your daughter, walking from store to store and having lunch. I also enjoy your posts on great jeans and tops to wear with them. I didn’t know jeans could be so stylish and comfortable til I found you! Another post I really liked was not impulse purchases. The post where you showed regretful purchases and how to avoid doing that. I’m guilty for sure! Love your posts Kay, and I look forward to all your 2025 posts!

  19. Kay, I’ve been around since the beginning! It has been a pleasure watching you evolve!
I’m always interested in how to try the new trends, the popular colors, and how to wear a piece several ways. May God bless you and your family in 2025♥️🙏

  20. Most everything you present has some element to it that I can apply to my style needs. What I appreciate most is the stay at home looks you offer. It has catapulted me out of my loose tees and pull-on knits while I sit at my computer or fix lunch for my husband and me. I am now wearing clothes that I had relegated to when other people will see me. That includes make up. My poor husband. He is pleased to see me in my “daily look”.
I also enjoy your tips on keeping a well thought out wardrobe in my closet. I do have secondary style needs, in that we are very active with Masonry/Shriners, etc. which calls for a much different wardrobe than my retired lifestyle. So a post on having a separate (or blended) wardrobe that will accommodate various style needs would be helpful.
Thank you for encouraging us to “shop our closet”. I took tips from you to re-purpose my St John knit jackets to style with jeans and other wardrobe pieces. Brilliant!
For my styling issues, knees, ugh! Even though I know exposed knees are acceptable, I just feel very uncomfortable showing off a not so flattering body part. Suggestions? Then there is that roundness at eh base of the neck that occurs with many as we age. I really appreciated your blog on how to style for that feature. So I guess I am saying, devote some more of your upcoming blogs on body issues that could use some help styling around. You have a huge audience for this who love you dearly and are hanging on your every word. 🙂

  21. I most love your Define Your Style posts, those are a great help to me. I also appreciate your Try-ons and What I Really Wore. Those remind me to think a little more creatively with what’s in my closet. And speaking of “closet,” What to Remove from Your Closet is one I should read every month. And two more: Anything about linen pants, and how to dress for my proportions, I am half a foot shorter than you but reasonable trim. I just don’t want to look girlish. I really enjoy your posts and hope you find it to be something you can enjoy

  22. Thanks for your blog & vlog, Kay! You’ve been a great help to my thoughtfully replacing my wardrobe after weight loss.
I lean toward a classic core with varied accessories to fit different occasions and moods. I love changing up outfits with different shoes, jewelry, scarves, jackets & even lipstick shades. So I’d like more content in that direction. The 1 thing that doesn’t interest me is trends.
BTW, I recently took an extended vacation and & had fun working with a small capsule. Now I’ll divide my closet into small seasonal capsules to keep dressing easy with a rotating variety.

  23. Kay I think I like all of your posts! 🙂 I really found the socks ones helpful, and I enjoy the what you really wore and the Try-Ons and the Style series. And the Bless for my day at the end. Thank you for all you do!

  24. I love the posts on how to define your style. I cannot afford your clothing lines of choice, so try to “copy” them with clothing in my budget. Most of that I end up not liking. So I wonder if it would be better to have just a few high end items and wear the heck out of them, or maybe throw a high price item in with lower cost items. I like the Try on hauls, and especially the vacation packing hints. You wear heels with many of the clothes you model, and I cannot do heels at all. I have learned many things from your posts, but one thing for sure; trends are just that – I am better off sticking to tried and true classics. I absolutely LOVE your YouTube videos. And I always look forward to your Blessed for my day comments.

  25. Of all your posts, the ones I most enjoy are when you travel, even if it’s a day trip or one to see your family. I poured over the ones from London and especially Alaska; James’ photos were just gorgeous! It’s inspiring to me to see how you dress for real life events like holidays and baby showers. I am a Talbots fan and enjoy the try on sessions. In several cases I have taken a second look at garments you showed after I had passed them by in the catalogue. You also convinced me that I could still wear elements of my former work wardrobe, like blazers, more casually. I like the upcoming trends reports. I would like to see quality items at a moderate price point like you showed for Quince. I generally rule out expensive brands, so inclusion of less expensive alternatives is welcome.

  26. I look forward to your posts and read nearly all of them. I am a Talbots shopper, but not exclusively. I like knowing what the trends are; some are for me and others are not. I appreciate you!

  27. I really enjoyed and learned so much from the Style Series this year. I enjoy the “how I really dressed” posts as they have helped me polish up my “at home” looks now that I’m retired! I also enjoy the trends posts and the updated accessories posts. Thanks for BFMD – it has encouraged me and challenged me so many times.

  28. I look forward to your email each day and appreciate that you offer different things for different tastes. I like to be modest at this time of my life, so I appreciate that you show me that I can dress so stylishly while also dressing modestly. Modest does not equal frumpy at all! I’ve learned about cognac accessories, and the color camel. Everything was just ‘brown or beige’ to me before. I have the best luck at Talbots, followed by J. Jill, but I have tried other stores now as well after you featured them. And I learn about online companies from you too. Living in New England, the socks post was much appreciated! And the lounge sets. Love the idea of relaxing at home in lounge sets. Finally, I want to say that my wardrobe flip-flopped. Sadly, my husband passed away a year ago. We were retired, and my wardrobe was cargo pants and comfy tops. Suddenly I needed to find a job to support myself, and I needed a work wardrobe again! I found a lot of inspiration in your posts for us retired-but-still-working ladies. I am 70 years old and now a widow living alone, but I still love your inspiration to get dressed for my day. And those posts about feeling invisible after a certain age? I haven’t experienced that I’m happy to say. I just love people and mingle and smile with all ages and people have always responded in kind. So, thank you for all you do! Happy 2025!

  29. I’m always looking forward to see what you have posted for the day and I agree with all the positive comments that were previously stated. 😃 Besides the wonderful Style Series, I would say my favorite is “How to Style….”

  30. Hi Kay,
I absolutely love your seasonal trending colors posts, and the shopping widget to feature items in those colors. I also love your posts about trending accessories, including shoes, because it seems not staying current in those areas can date everything else about an outfit. Being intentional about current accessories is often overlooked by many people. Thanks for all you do and inspiring me to incorporate modern things into my wardrobe and to try new things!

  31. I’m late replying to this but I’d like to see post on 5 ways to wear an item.
Also I like post on what you really wear in a week.

  32. I too look forward to all your posts! I most enjoy the How I Dressed for My Day series, try on sessions (any store) and trend and color reports. I also like any sort of round up about what was most popular. I loved the mistakes post–the analysis part made me see that I really need to think about why something doesn’t work for me so that I can remember not to make that mistake again. I’m looking forward to “shopping your closet” and “styling the classics” posts. The tip you’ve given that helped me the most was to figure out whether I’m high or low contrast. That helps me put outfits together better than any other tip, and it keeps me in my comfort zone. I finally understand why I can’t wear certain combinations that I see on other people. Thanks for all your hard work, sensible advice and creativity!

  33. Kay, you are the best. Thank you so much for the LTK link. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to cut back on the number of influencers that I follow daily. I spend far too much time on the internet. However, your blog is number one for me and I look forward to more advice in 2025.

  34. I definitely have enjoyed and learned a lot from the style series posts. I like the formulas also for quick, put together outfits. I did remove things from my closet and have exercised more strategic thinking in my purchases. Overall 2024 has been a good style year for me. I’m much more confident in how I look at work and that helps me communicate my capabilities and competence.
