Happy Friday! It’s time for me to share how I really dressed for my day this week. It’s been a pretty typical winter week here in Ohio, weatherwise. And I’ve enjoyed a fair mix of getting out and about and staying home and relaxing. So you’ll see all of that reflected in my daily outfits.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
I like to focus on what I wore, why and how I put it together in this posts, so I may not go into a lot of details about the items shown. Some are available and others are not. But you can always find out more and do any shopping through the links in the captions of the photos. I’ll also indicate any gifted items with a c/o (courtesy of) beside the listing in the captions.
In case you’re new here, I’m 5’8 and I usually wear a size 10 or medium these days. If the sizing is off on anything I’ll try to remember to mention that here. Otherwise, you can assume it fits true to size.
What I Wore to the Movie Last Friday
Last Friday we decided to go to a movie followed by dinner out. It was a cold, messy day, but it was delightful to get out. I had received some new jeans from Rag & Bone, so I decided to give them a whirl. These Flexi Sophie wide leg jeans fit and feel great, true to size.

I topped the jeans with a polo collar sweater, gave it a little front tuck and added a belt. It had snowed that day, but pretty much melted and turned to rain by the time we headed out. Still I decided it was a good time to try out my new Sorel weatherproof boots. They look a little rough-and-tumble here, but they’re very comfortable and I need boots like this for bad weather occasionally.
How I Dressed for a Day at Home Saturday
We started Saturday with a long walk along a local trail. By the time we returned home and I did a little housework, I was ready to shower and change into something comfortable for the day. I wore some loungewear from Haven Well Within as I wrapped a few packages and did a little reading.

I have been so glad to have some comfortable, but attractive loungewear this fall and winter. I frequently change into these after I finish with my work for the day.
Sunday’s Outfit
Sunday morning we went to church and I chose to wear my Veronica Beard Fair Isle sweater with my ivory corduroy trousers. I like the way my Ally booties bookend this look since they are in a similar color to the sweater.

Since it was holiday season, I made this basic winter outfit a little festive by adding some bling in my jewelry. I wore my pear and pave stud earrings along with a layer of fun bracelets I’ve collected over the years.
How I Dressed for My Day Monday
By Monday I was really feeling like I was on holiday. It’s been good to take a bit of a break and slow down the pace a bit. The temperatures were a little warmer, so I decided it would be a good day to wear this new cotton boucle sweater with my straight leg utility pants, both from Eileen Fisher.

I really purchased this sweater to wear with white jeans a little later on, but I decided to give it a try with these stone colored casual pants. All very comfortable and soft!
What I Wore Tuesday
Tuesday we needed to go to the grocery store to get a few last minute items for our Christmas meals, so we started with breakfast at a nearby diner. Anyone else out and about Tuesday? It was a jungle out there! Well, as it turns out, we were actually at Jungle Jims, a large international grocery story here in Cincinnati, where you can find all those hard-to-find-items.

I decided to go festive with my apple cider red plaid pants and a black cashmere turtleneck sweater. I think at this point I’ve worn these pants at least a half a dozen times, and I’ve styled them differently each day. I love this red and black combination.
What I Wore Christmas Day
Christmas day was quite lovely. We took the day at a slow, gentle pace. It was just the two of us, as we had celebrated and exchanged gifts with the rest of our family over the previous weeks as we saw them. So we spent the morning in our pajamas, eating brunch by the fire. Then we just took it easy rest of the day, too.

After putting our braised short ribs in the Dutch oven, we got out for a long walk. When we returned home and I showered, I changed into my Lake lounge set and slippers.
How I Dressed for My Day Thursday
Yesterday I decided to enjoy another day off. I did a little watercolor painting in the morning after my walk and workout. Then I watched a couple of Christmas movies. I think I’m done now. Ha! Today I’ll be working on content for next week and start planning my January calendar in a little more detail.

For my relaxed day I wore my Quince jeans and cashmere fisherman sweater. I’ve been wearing this cashmere wrap frequently over my pajamas and regular clothes. Mine is several years old, but they have this similar cashmere wrap at Quince.
So that’s how I really dressed for my day this week. Thanks so much for dropping in. I hope you have a lovely day!

Blessed for My Day
Now that we have wrapped up Christmas I like to turn my focus to preparing for the new year. I make sure I have my new planner and I start scheduling things in it. I also set goals, tweak my routines a bit as needed and make a plan for my quiet times. I’ll be reading through this Bible again this year, and I’ll be using these as my prayer journals. I also got this little journal to track my wellness routines.
But before I look too far ahead, I think it’s a good idea to pause and glance back. As I start planning for and dreaming about 2025, I’m taking some time to be grateful for the way the Lord walked me through this year. I’m remembering the good times and the hard, but I’m noticing God’s fingerprints on both. I encourage you to pause today and thank the Lord for His faithfulness over the past year.
Bless the Lord, my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits…~ Psalm 103:1-2
Love the psalm and message. I’m grateful to the Lord for all the answered prayers and blessings this year. I didn’t get out on Tuesday. I did on Monday to one store and traffic was terrible. Yesterday I went shopping with my daughter’s family at a large mall about an hour and a half away. I haven’t been there in years. My grandkids wanted to shop with their Christmas money. The Lululemon store was packed. I just went to Loft and JCrew where I found good sales. I was proud how patient my son-in-law was going around with my grandkids. Shopping is not his thing. I had such a wonderful time this Christmas. I already had celebrated with my son and his family. He’s a paramedic and she’s a nurse so they had to work Christmas Eve and Day. When our kids grow up we just have to celebrate at different times but what matters is the time we do spend together.
You look great in all of these, Kay, but I especially like the Monday look on you along with that great hairstyle. Ha…you have a bit of biker chick vibe going on Tuesday! Will we get a chance to see your paintings? I paint too and am always happy to see what other people are doing with their paintings.
I love your Thursday look, with the sweater, jeans and ballet flats. That’s my version of casual dress. 🙂 Also like your Sunday outfit. I like the look of a white jean or white slacks in winter, obviously in a heavier material than one would wear in summer.
On a different note, I noticed Nordies carries Ana Luisa jewelry. I already “wish listed” a nice pair of hoop earrings. Thanks for featuring them, I wouldn’t have known about them if not for you.
I love your outfit with the plaid pants. Thanks so much or coming to my inbox. You’ve been an inspiration. Happy new year. Enjoy this special time.
Great looks, Kay. I’m determined to do a tad better with what I wear around the house this year and was happy to glean some everyday ideas. I always love seeing pictures and comments from your followers, too. Very stylish ladies. I am lucky enough to live 8 minutes from Jungle Jim’s and shop there regularly.
Thanks for all you do. And Happy New Year!
