Hi there, sweet gal! I’m happy you dropped in for a little style inspiration today. After wearing my silver and gold metallic sandals so much in the last two posts about the new Talbots summer collection, I got to thinking about how often I really reach for these shiny shoes in the summer. Darling! I absolutely love my metallic flip flops and sandals! Let me show you why you might need to add some pretty metallic sandals to your summer wardrobe, too.
Adding a touch of metallic – with a belt, handbag or shoes – is such an easy and fun way to elevate your outfit. And you absolutely don’t need to reserve metallic touches for dressier outfits. You can add some pretty gold, silver, rose gold or bronze to any outfit!
I currently have three pairs of metallic sandals in my wardrobe, and they’re all at least two seasons old. I happened to have bought them all at Talbots, and they have come out with very similar sandals and flip flops this year, too. So when I show you photos of my sandals and how I wore them, I’ll link you to the comparable sandals in this year’s collection. But I’ll also provide a shopping widget at the end of the post with other metallic sandal options.
First, let’s simply look at some of the ways I’ve worn my gold and silver sandals.
Metallic Sandals with a Denim Skirt
I love the juxtaposition created with my distressed denim skirt and my shiny gold sandals. I try to wear my jewelry and belt buckle in the same metallic as my sandals.
Metallic Sandals with Shorts
It’s a natural choice to pair your metallic sandals with shorts.
Generally, if I wear metallic sandals, I don’t wear a metallic belt or bag. But, hey! There are no hard fast rules here!
Don’t you just love, love, love the way my gold flip flop sandals worked with the soft blue and white look above?
Honestly, when I don’t know what else to wear with an outfit or I don’t have just the right color to go with something, I simply slip into my metallic sandals. Voila! Perfection.
Honestly, I don’t think anything looks better with all white in the summer than metallic sandals. One of the keys to putting together an all white look is to add texture and variation. So gold or silver footwear is the perfect choice.
One of the keys to wearing novelty prints, as in the shorts above, without looking childish is to keep the rest of your outfit very “adult.” Adding metallic sandals is definitely a very adult choice.
Metallic Sandals with Cropped Pants
Metallic sandals keep your crop pants outfit fun and festive. I love slipping into mine to head out to dinner with my husband or lunch with a friend.
Metallic Sandals with Jeans
When I wear jeans in the summer, I like to brighten up the look by wearing metallic sandals.
Ah, look! Here’s one of those times where I broke my own rule. I wore gold sandals and carried a little gold wristlet. I told you there are no hard fast rules!
And of course, white jeans rock with metallic sandals!
Metallic Sandals with a Dress
During the summer, more often than not I wear my metallic sandals when I wear a dress.
I can’t imagine wearing anything but my metallic sandals with my pretty periwinkle blue maxi dress.
Metallic Sandals when You Don’t Know What Else to Wear
Hopefully you can see how very versatile these metallic shoes are. In fact, there are many times during the summer when I simply reach for them because I don’t know what else to wear with a particular piece of clothing.
If you’re looking for metallic sandals to add to your summer wardrobe, I’ve done the research for you. I’ve filled a shopping widget with some sweet options. These and the links above are all affiliate links. If you shop through them and make a purchase, I potentially earn a commission, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting the work I do here by shopping my links. I appreciate you! Oh, and many of the selection below come in more than one tone of metallic.

Blessed for My Day
I think it might be fitting to end this work week simply praising the Lord. When we worship God by humbling ourselves before Him, exalting Him and proclaiming His character, everything else falls into place. Worshiping God is the best way to put everything else in our lives in proper perspective.
If you feel overwhelmed, confused, frustrated or even clueless, don’t panic. Those are normal feelings when emotions run high and news is big and our helplessness is underscored. Simply take time to lift up God. Remind yourself out loud that He is big, He is powerful, He is able and He is in control.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. ~ 1 Chronicles 29:11
