First let me tell you about what I’m wearing for our little shopping trip; then I tell you what’s on my Talbots shopping list.
I just knew I had to have this crewneck cardigan featuring cardinals in the snow the minute I saw it. Sure enough, this 67% acrylic, 23% nylon, 10% wool sweater is everything I hoped it would be and more. It’s super soft and fairly lightweight. I find it to fit true to size; I’m wearing a misses medium. But it’s also available in petite, plus and plus petite sizes. In fact, so many of the styles at Talbots are available in a full range of sizes.
I think my cardinals in snow crewneck cardigan looks perfect paired with this plaid cotton button-front shirt, but you could also wear it with a turtleneck, a t-shirt or another type of button-up shirt. It will be fun to wear through the winter.
I’m wearing the plaid cotton button-front shirt and crewneck cardigan over my high waist relaxed jeans. These have less stretch and more cotton, so I’m wearing a size 10. The relaxed fit features a roomier leg opening and a high waist. They feel and read like very traditional straight leg jeans.
I completed my outfit for our day of shopping with my black Tish Chelsea boots. These pebbled leather Chelsea boots are my favorite boots for everyday wear. And with today’s Black Friday 40% off and free shipping on purchases of $150+ , this is definitely the time to snap them up!
By the way, I have a little gift for you, too. Well, I do wish I could give each and every one of my readers one of these. Can you tell I have a thing for cardinals?
I’ll be putting my own cardinal brooch on my winter coats at least through December, but probably longer. Why is it that sometime shortly after turning 50 we become so enamored with birds? You, too? I just love watching the cardinals in my backyard through the winter. But, hey, enough talk of birds! We’ve got to get to shopping!

With regard to your question in BFMD “Have you felt His proximity this week?”, yes I have, It’s been a busy week and I don’t feel like I’ve put as much time into my relationship with Him as usual, but HE has been right there all the time. Praise His name!!

I found a red and black plaid button down shirt that is shown online as another option with the crewneck cardinal sweater. For those on a budget, I found it online at JCPenney. The brand is St. John’s Bay. The shirt is on sale for $9.99, regular $37. (I do not know how long the sale will last). I have purchased these button down shirts for the past few years and have been very pleased. They are true to size and have good reviews posted. I do wash them in cold water and let the air dry, just as I do the Talbots brand shirts.
The colors are red, beige, grey and black I think.
