If I don’t hurry up and share a few of our favorite things from April, 2025, the month is going to seem like a distant memory. Sometimes my content calendar just gets in the way of these monthly rundowns of the top sellers here at Dressed for My Day and my YouTube channel. So I’m squeezing this fun review in on a rare Saturday post. Let’s see what we loved this past month!

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
First let me explain where I get these analytics. These are the affiliate links that people clicked through the most here, on YouTube, in my LTK Shop, on Facebook and in Instagram, resulting in a purchase. I don’t really have any way of knowing if the shoppers actually purchased these items or if they bought something else as well or instead. But we’re talking significantly high enough numbers that I can assume with assurance that these were indeed popular items.
I’m copping out. If you’ve been around here lately, you may know that my dear assistant Lucy is out on maternity leave. Of course I’m so happy for her, but y’all! I’m suffering. I didn’t realize how much I have grown to count on Lucy over the two and half years that she has worked for me. My daughter is filling in on a few things, but I just don’t have time to teach her all of Lucy’s job, nor does she care to work that much.
So…long story short I’m only sharing YOUR favorites today. I just don’t have the time or the bandwidth right now to even think what my personal favorites for the month are. So instead I’ll just give my “Amen!” to any of your favorites that are also mine. Okay? Okay! 😉
Starting with number 13 and working up the list to the number one top seller…
#13 – high rise denim trouser jeans
Amen! Yep, right out of the gate I completely agree. These high rise denim trouser jeans are definitely some of my favorites. In fact, these may be my absolute favorite jeans in my closet right now.

Those particular jeans run true to size for me. I’m wearing a size 30 very comfortably. I did size down to a 29 in a different wash, but not these. In the darker wash and in the white I sized down to a 29. I’d say these are slightly roomy, however. So if you waffle between two sizes you might go with your lower size. These are jeans play a pivotal role in my wardrobe.
#12 – woven straw tote
I’m so glad that many DFMD followers may have purchased the woven straw tote. I’ve had mine for four years now! They keep carrying it, so obviously it’s popular.

I just think this bag has that classic, coastal grandmother vibe. It’s well-made, large but lightweight. Perfection. Oh, and amen!
#11 – 100% European linen maxi skirt
I shared the 100% European linen maxi skirt in last week’s YouTube video, shown below. Definitely watch this one if you haven’t already. The linen maxi skirt is definitely my favorite item shown, but then again… hmm.
The skirt fits true to size. And yes, it has a deep slit, but it doesn’t go any higher than a pair of shorts would hit me. So that really doesn’t bother me. It does come in half a dozen colors, too.
#10 – Scarlet Sonata Caro dress
I wore the Scarlet Sonata Caro dress for Easter and absolutely enjoyed it. So yes, amen! This is one of my favorites for April, too.

The Scarlet Sonata Caro dress runs true to size and comes in a wide range of sizes from XXS to XXXL. You can wear it with the same-fabric belt or without, as I showed in this blog post. It’s made in a beautiful soft 100% cotton.
#9 – Andie chain link sandals
The Andie chain link sandals are pricey, but I’ve noticed that many of my followers don’t seem to pay more for shoes and bags. And these traditional looking sandals are so classic, on trend and comfortable.

I’ve worn my Andie chain link sandals with dresses, ankle pants and jeans, skirts and even full length pants. They run true to size and come in black and ivory, too. Amen!
#8 – Dr. Brandt liquid sun shield SPF 50
I shared my preference for the Dr. Brandt liquid sun shield SPF 50 in this week’s YouTube video. I’ve been wearing it for about a year and it’s a clear favorite. I appreciate that it’s a 100% mineral sunscreen so it gives you great protection. But I also like that it goes on beautifully, the white tint fades fast with absorption and then my makeup goes on beautifully over it. You want to apply your sunscreen after the last step of your skincare routine and just before your foundation (or primer, if you use one).

Right now you can use code BRIGHTNOW to get 30% off the Dr. Brandt liquid sun shield SPF 50 as well as other items in their Bright This Way collection.
#7 – Sammy dress
Readers seemed to love the Sammy dress and other Avara options after I shared it in this blog post. And the day after I shared it, Avara gave me a code to share with you. I do apologize if you didn’t get to use it. It was just a timing issue.

You can now use code KAY15 for 15% off the Sammy dress as well as everything else at Avara. I don’t think the code will stack on sale items, however. I’m also not sure if you can use the code over and over.
#6 – Sanctuary perfect t-shirt
Here’s another situation where I have a new code. So many readers purchased the Sanctuary perfect t-shirt after I shared it in this blog post. It’s marked down in some prints at Nordstrom, but not in this “sketched” print.

Meanwhile, Sanctuary reached out with a code for savings at their website. Use code KAY15 for 15% off the Sanctuary perfect t-shirt and everything else when you shop directly at Sanctuary. I noticed they are also offering 30% off select items right now. And I doubt the code works on top of and discounts, but you could always try it.
#5 – J.Jill everyday linen button-front shirt
I’ve worn the J.Jill everyday linen button-front shirt for years. In fact, I actually had to take my white one out of my closet this year because I’d worn it to the point that it was looking quite worn. This year I added this lilac one and a pretty sunlight yellow (shone further down the post).

I especially like that the lilac J.Jill everyday linen button-front shirt features a woven stripe. This particular shirt is also actually a cotton/linen blend, whereas the others are 100% linen. I always size down to a small in J.Jill tops.
#4 – Talbots ribbed polo top
This Talbots ribbed polo top almost feels like a blast from the past…in a couple of ways. Of course, first of all, the polo top is experiencing a revival in popularity this year. They’re everywhere! And they’re really the preferred collar over the basic t-shirt right now

But also I actually shared this Talbots ribbed polo top in several blog posts in March. But it has maintained its popularity through April. It was originally available in black, white, poppy pink and red pepper, but sizes are selling out in some colors. It comes in misses, petite and plus petite, but again, sizes are selling out fast. It’s marked down and you do get another 30% off. An elevated wardrobe basic for spring and summer if there ever was one. Talbots calls it a sweater, by the way. But I’ll be wearing mine now through summer and fall.
#3 – Pure Jill linen cropped pants
These Pure Jill linen cropped pants are top favorites at Dressed for My Day. They’re pull-on pants, but still look polished and a little elevated with the seam work. Some may find them to be too sheer for their taste, but I just don’t mind that.

I think the length on these Pure Jill linen cropped pants is perfect for me. Remember, I’m 5’8″. But they also come in petite and tall sizes.
#2 – Talbots wide ankle twill pants
The Talbots wide ankle twill pants is another blast from the past, since I showed them mostly in March. But you know, these are comfortable, casual pants I’ll be wearing all through summer. They’re lightweight but substantial – not sheer.

The Talbots wide ankle twill pants are available in six colors, a wide range of sizes and in misses, petite, plus and plus petite fits. That said they are selling out fast. I have them in white, navy (indigo blue) and cool beige (most popular). They run true to size for a great fit. You can dress them up or down. Amen!
#1 – Levi’s cotton twill utility jacket
And you ladies bought so many of the Levi’s cotton twill utility jackets that I truly believe we are responsible for them practically selling out in this color. The jacket does come in other really great color combinations however. They all have the contrasting corduroy collar except the light wash denim, which I think is a really great option.

The Levi’s cotton twill utility jacket is indicative of the most on trend silhouette and style for jackets right now. The collar, the zip up function, the silhouette and even the contrasting chocolate brown corduroy are all so in style. It takes a little getting used to wearing this style, I think. But wear it with anything you would normally pair with a denim jacket. And since it’s not denim, you can wear it so easily with jeans or denim skirts. Love this one! Amen! We’ll be wearing them this fall, too!
Thanks for being patient with me on this post and giving me a little grace for not sharing my personal favorites (other than giving an Amen! to your picks that I also love). When Lucy gets back we’ll return to our old format. Meanwhile we wish her lots of sweet snuggles while she enjoys being a new mommy.

Blessed for My Day
Samuel was dedicated to the Lord before he was even born by his mother Hannah. She then turned him over to the priest Eli when Samuel was still very young. He would grow up to be one of the most reliable and steadfast prophets of his age, later advising both King Saul and King David, sometimes delivering hard truths to each. Samuel developed a keen ear for the voice of God and did not shy away from proclaiming it, even if the message was unpopular or stung.
But Samuel, just like us, had to learn to hear God’s voice. When God first spoke to him in the night, it was during a period of time when hearing from the Lord was rare and “visions were infrequent.” How can you and I learn to distinguish God’s voice above the clamor of other voices that vie for our attention? The best way to know God’s voice is to know God. If you get to know God’s true character through reading the Bible daily, consistently, you will develop a keen ear for His words. God never speaks out of character. He will never tell you to do…or give you permission to do…something that is out of character with His Word.
But it happened at that time as Eli was lying down in his place (now his eyesight had begun to be poor and he could not see well), and the lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord where the ark of God was, that the Lord called Samuel; and he said, “Here I am.” …Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. And Eli said to Samuel, “Go lie down, and it shall be if He calls you, that you shall say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. Then the Lord came and stood, and called as at the other times: “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.” ~ 1 Samuel 3:2-4, 8b-10

Great post. Blessings.
Girl you had me at the coastal chic style board! So beautiful and I LOVE capsules! Please, please do more of these. I am so inspired and definitely will be purchasing my first piece of Frank and Eileen!
Love the J Crew high rise jeans and the Talbots ribbed polo top! Anything high rise is a personal favorite as it looks better on my shape, and I’ve cone to appreciate how a collared top makes my face look better, too. Thank you for sharing these favorites again!
I really enjoy your posts and learn so much from them. However I am petite so some of the pants that hit you just right if they don’t come in petite sizes I am afraid they will be way too long on me. My question is to be current and modern right now do I look for pant lengths to either hit at my ankle bone or one inch above my ankle bone? Where are crop pants supposed to hit on your leg?
I am trying to determine if some pants that I wore last summer are still modern or if they are out of style.
Thank you.
For the most current look and a very flattering length I suggest one inch above the ankle bone.
Great items for April – maybe your April favorite isn’t a thing, but a person – Lucy! It’s so good for people to know how much they matter to others!
Congrats to Lucy! I love how personal your posts are. Thanks for sharing.
