Happy Friday! It’s time for me to share my daily outfits for the week. I know many of my readers love seeing a run down of how I really dressed for my day. But this little exercise also keeps me on my toes and accountable to my own mantra. Let’s see how I Dressed for My Day this week!

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
I like to focus on why I wore what I wore and how I put my looks together in these weekly posts. So I may not call out each item shown. You’ll find links to anything that is available in the captions under the photos. I’ll also share fit information there IF the garment doesn’t fit true to size (TTS). I try to be transparent about gifting; gifted items are indicated with a C/O beside them, meaning they were given to me “courtesy of” that brand. Finally, I’m 5’8″ and about 160 pounds, so I normally wear a misses 10. I have even proportions and an hourglass shape.
One more thing. Since my assistant usually sets this post up for me and she’s on leave right now, I’m taking a little short cut. I’ll link everything shown in the captions of the photos. You can click on those words to shop those items. (Look for coupon codes, more economical options and fit info in those captions, too!) But I won’t link the items in the paragraphs. Thanks so much for your patience while I adjust to life without Lucy! LOL!
How I Dressed Last Friday
Last Friday we spent most of the day shooting YouTube videos and other content. So I was in and out of outfits, but I did shoot next week’s video in this outfit and wore it for the rest of the day until quitting time.

I spend so many of my days at home, so when I have opportunity to wear one of my blazers I jump on it. And my Veronica Beard Miller dickey jacket is a favorite. I created the outfit around it, actually. After I chose to wear the navy blazer, I selected the navy and white striped tank. And that led me to the white jeans. And that mix of navy and white prompted me to choose cognac sandals because, you know, I love cognac accessories.
How I Dressed Saturday
Saturday I spent the day at home catching up on a few household chores but also editing this Wednesday’s YouTube video. Yeah, it’s an exciting life here y’all!

When I’m glued to my desk all day I’m prone to want to just stay in my pajamas. But I VERY rarely do that. I feel more productive and smarter if I get dressed in something I love but also something that is a little pulled together. I always enjoy wearing my Frank & Eileen Liberty of London print button-up shirts, so I wore this one over old faithful Madewell jeans. And yeah, cognac accessories.
What I Wore Sunday Morning
Sunday morning we go to church. I taught the children’s class this week, so I wanted to be comfortable. But I don’t believe in sacrificing style for comfort. We don’t really move around or anything during our lesson because the room we meet in is small. So I felt perfectly at easy in this beautiful bold floral dress.

This dress comes with a same-fabric sash, but somewhere along the way I have lost it. I really like the dress on me better untied anyhow, but I sure do wish I could find that belt. This dress is super comfortable, lightweight, but not sheer. I did wear a full slip (another great option at a better price) just for comfort. Maybe my repetition of cognac accessories bores you, but again I just really love the look of cognac with this deep blue and vibrant colors. It’s such a rich accessory color.
How I Dressed for Monday at Home
Monday I was back at the computer working, but I really wanted to wear a dress. I chose this Jude Connally dress because their Jude cloth is so cool and comfortable on my skin.

This simple dress felt perfect for a day of working at my desk. But I also felt pretty. I was still dealing with my cold at this point, so dressing up a little, even though it was quite effortless, helped me to feel a little better. I think I just accessorized with sandals and gold hoop earrings that day, but it felt like enough.
How I Dressed for My Day Tuesday
Tuesday I started feeling so much better. The weather was pretty so it felt like a good day to wear shorts.

I know I’ve mentioned that the partial tuck is not as “in” as last year, but this was one of those instances when I just wanted to use it. I’m just not one (yet) to wear a full shirt untucked, especially over shorts. And I liked the way this half-tuck revealed my waistline, but still created a relaxed look. Remember, I was just at home all day.
Oh! About those shoes! I ordered these because I’d heard so much about the brand. They did not disappoint. So comfortable! And a little more elevated looking than the Vionics in my opinion. I like the flesh tone and the beautiful leather. Great shoes for vacation.
What I Wore Wednesday
After wearing shorts on Tuesday, I decided to go for it again. I remembered that I had gotten in these linen shorts before going to Georgia, ironed them and then lost track of them. So I gave them a whirl.

I enjoyed wearing these linen shorts so much I will be featuring them in an upcoming blog post. They fit nicely in my usual Eileen Fisher size, which is a small. I topped them with a simple white tank and this linen jacket. By the way, you can get the linen jacket 30% off today. It’s a good one. When it arrived I had my doubts. But after ironing it, the jacket took shape and proved to be a winner. It comes in navy, too.
What I Wore Thursday
I had caught up on work Thursday morning, so James and I ventured out to a new-to-us place in Cincinnati. We had lunch and coffee at VV – The Italian Experience. Such a cute little Italian coffee bar, restaurant and shop. I’d been wanting to wear my white linen shirt with denim, so I took this opportunity.

I wore the linen shirt over my light wash trouser jeans (from yesterday’s blog post) and added a linen/cotton sweater over my shoulders for a little texture. I put on a belt, but it looked a little heavy and distracting, so I removed it. I preferred the look with just the sandals and minimal jewelry. Well, I say minimal. I did wear a stack of three bracelets.

When I got home I found that an order had come in with two pairs of linen shorts. I tried them on and they fit so well I ended up wearing these the rest of the day. I also got the pretty silk scarf in the order, but it has sold out unfortunately. I played around with tying the scarf around my neck, but I couldn’t make it work the way I wanted. So I tied it around my waist through the belt loops and LOVED it this way. By the way, I hadn’t ironed or steamed those shorts yet. This was straight out of the bag. Ha!

Blessed for My Day
The Lord has promised that His righteous ones will not be shaken. But that doesn’t mean that the earth won’t occasionally move under our feet, so to speak. Hard days may come, sometimes seemingly out of nowhere. But you, dear sister, will not be shaken.
What does that mean? I don’t think it means that we won’t fall or struggle. We will undoubtedly even have days when we feel VERY shaken. But we will not lose our security in the Lord. We may feel like our world has fallen apart. But remember, this world is only temporary and this life is fleeting. Our eternal security is with God through Jesus Christ. He holds us secure no matter what may shake our world. And the more you “cast your burden upon the Lord,” the more you will feel the stability of that relationship.
Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. ~ Psalm 55:22
All of your outfits look nice on you. The linen shorts look cute, but I haven’t even thought of putting on shorts yet. Too chilly here yet, but anxious to be able to wear some as cute as the ones you showed. So glad the the half side tuck is more or less on the way out. I know, I know, my opinion.
I agree with you, Sherry….I never liked that half side tuck !!! It will be a while before it’s warm enough to wear shorts for me too. I really dislike clothing that looks wrinkled too.
You always look great! I love the pink Jude Connally dress.
It’s very interesting to see the variety that goes into your weeks wardrobe. I guess like most of us, the selections are influenced by so many things; the projects of the day, weather and even our mood. But you show us that it’s possible to be dressed for our day, no matter what. Thank you.
I love using the scarf as a belt. I used to do that so thank you for the reminder. What self tanner do you use? I recently used one recommended by another blogger. My neck/chest broke out in a blistery rash. The color on my legs does not look natural. Too orange. I would think that in this day Ang age, some company would have perfected this
My favorites on you – the F&E liberty blouse and the JC dress. Most of your looks, I can reproduce from my closet, in my own way. I enjoy linen shorts in warm weather, I’m really loving trouser jeans, and most of my shoes and handbags are either brown or cognac. Thanks for the inspiration! 😉
Love the linen button-up shirts and the dresses, too. Maybe you tied your belt to a purse handle instead of wearing it?? LOL. I bet you’ll find it soon. Thanks for showing us what you actually wear on a day to day basis. It helps me put outfits together. Love your blog, Kay. Be blessed!
Thanks for your devotional today. As I read it I kept thinking about something from a Bible study I just finished. It was Heaven by Jennifer Rothschild. Through out the study she often said “Earth is short and Heaven is long. Once again, thanks for your blog and devotional.
Last Friday and then Monday’s dress were my faves. I would really love both of those outfits. I would definitely go for the long version of the dress too. It is nice of that company to offer that option since short ladies like myself don’t want dresses above the knees. LOL. Thanks so much.
I really enjoy seeing what you wear each week. I especially like last Friday’s outfit! Thank you for the devotional. Reminds me that this earth is not our home.
I always love this post each week. I find it motivating. Thank you!
I love your Cognac accessories so don’t be doubting them. The J Crew linen shorts in honey brown are perfection too. Thank you for sharing your outfits each week.
You might already know this but I recently discovered that Naot shoes are available on Amazon. I would rather order them from Nordstrom but my size was sold out! Also I ordered them from linen dress from Talbots and can’t wait to get it!
Thank you for the devotional message. I really needed it today. All the outfits are cute. I love the blazer and white pants and the white shirt and light wash jeans. The short outfits are nice too.
Kay, I look forward to your weekly outfit posts! It is nice to see how you incorporate your styling tips into your everyday looks, providing more ideas for your readers! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the scarf as a belt idea. That’s so cute!!
All the outfits are nice but I really like the jeans. Have a good weekend.
Hey Kay. I love all of your outfits this week, but especially the jeans and white linen top, the JC dress, and the scarf with the linen shorts! The BFMD devotion is always a highlight of your blog, too!
I love the gold linen shorts and white button down. Im enjoying all my linen on our warmer days, just have to keep the iron ready! 😁
Forget boring…your tip about cognac accessories was one of my favorites! Coincidentally, I wore very similar outfits to 2 of yours here on a recent getaway. Someone on your FB page said my black and white outfit was boring. LOL I guess to some people a classic (and dare I say CLASSY) way of dressing IS boring. So be it. Boring (to some) I shall be! Love all your outfits here!
I love black and white! And I wear it a lot. 😊
