I like curating my wardrobe from a variety of brands so that I create and wear my own personal style rather than look just like one particular label. But I do have a few favorite wardrobe essentials that I always count on particular brands for. Case in point, I always stock my warm weather closet with lightweight cotton button-up shirts from Frank & Eileen, I love linen lantern pants from Eileen Fisher and I usually count on Talbots for ankle length cotton pants. But today I’m sharing two spring wardrobe essentials from J.Jill that serve me well every year. And right now they’re 30% off!

In fact, I’ve created two great warm weather outfits almost exclusively from J.Jill today. But the two Spring wardrobe essentials I always count on J.Jill for are their perfect reversible tanks and their everyday linen button-front shirts. I’ve been wearing these classic separates from J.Jill for more years than I can count.

In this first outfit I’m wearing a linen button front shirt and perfect reversible tank top, both in sunlight yellow, over a pair of white cropped linen pants, also from J.Jill. I love that these cropped linen pants feature a side panel that gives them a nice tapered but full leg, perfect for hot days.

The cropped linen pants also come in blue, brown and black. And they have them in sizes XS to 4X, as well as a wide range of petite and tall sizes. I’m wearing a regular medium for a nice fit.

Back to those spring wardrobe essentials from J.Jill. I love that they usually carry a tank in every color that they have a button-front linen shirt in. Doubling up that color is such a smart style formula for this time of year. It always looks polished and impactful.

This pale, pastel yellow is very on trend this year. So it’s a fun color to add to your wardrobe. But the linen button front shirt and perfect reversible tanks are available in other colors as well. You can double up the sunlight yellow, the celadon, the white or the lilac I’m also sharing below.

Here I’m worn the lilac linen button front shirt and tank with a pair of linen-blend shorts in light driftwood, a nice woodsy neutral. The shorts run true to size to a little roomy. I’m wearing a medium, but they are a little loose on me.

By the way, I don’t think I yet mentioned that I do size down to a small in the J.Jill linen button front shirt, but I got my true size medium in the reversible tanks. And of course you can wear those reversible tanks so that they have a v-neck or a scoop neck. I’ve worn each tank differently in these outfits today, so you could see the necklines.

Notice that the lilac linen button front shirt features a faint unstitched stripe throughout. It’s a really nice detail. The J.Jill linen button front shirts are always super soft, feature a straight hemline, have a nice collar size and button cuffs. And I think the price is great for the value. Plus, right now they are 30% off.

Today’s blog post is NOT sponsored by J.Jill, and I have no idea how long their 30% off tops offer will last. The website indicates that today, April 7, is the final day of the offer. Of course they have so many other pretty tops to choose from, too. But I would not pass up these two spring wardrobe essentials from J.Jill. You will be creating great outfits with them all spring and summer.

Blessed for My Day
Last week I attended a Bible conference for women hosted by Answers in Genesis. The theme was Resolute, and the messages were centered around learning how to stand firm in sound doctrine so that you are not easily tossed off course by false teachings and faulty theologies. The speakers were brilliant and humble, transformed servants, each bringing a wealth of personal experience and biblical teaching to topics of current concern.
I wish I could share everything I learned with you. And I’m sure some of it will filter in here over the next few weeks. But the bottom line is that we must be steeped in the knowledge of God’s Word so that we will not get carried away by the prevailing false teachings of our day. How can you do this? By reading your Bible every day, and reading it cover to cover. It is never too late to start reading your Bible through, sister. And I invited you start today.
You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unscrupulous people and lose your own firm commitment, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. ~ 2 Peter 3:17-18
Glad you and Abagail enjoyed the conference. The BFMD spoke to me today. So many people get caught up in false teachings. I agree, read your Bible.
Thank you for today’s Blessed for your day.
I am going to order a few tan.ks this year and I especially like the v neck side. JJill has some pretty colors,
Reversible tanks are so useful. I was not aware that J.Jill offered them, so you taught me something today. Thank you.
Good morning, Kay. Your tops and shorts from J Jill look perfect for warmer weather. I love the tank/linen top layered look! Such pretty pastel colors, too.
Thank you so much for the BFMD. That is so true today! I did not know J. jill carried reversible tank tops so I will check them out along with a linen blouse. So pretty and summery looking.
Hi Kay. I love The lilac color shirt and Tank. Looks so pretty on you. Love linen in the summer.
Reversible tank top—what a great idea! Love the yellow and the lavender.
YES! I I strongly suggest that you join the free ap The Bible Recap! You read through the entire Bible Ina year! Tera Lee Coble explains the couple of chapters you read daily. You receive wonderful maps and explanations of the new book and it is a huge blessing! I didn’t realize how important it is to read from Genesis through Revelation! It is making a daily difference in my life! I am having an a..ha moment all the time! I can’t recommend enough! The Bible is rich! God bless you Kay. Enjoy your help!
That yellow is my favorite. I have the tank but some how missed the button down. Maybe I can grab it before it goes off sale.
Haven’t tried JJill for linen shirts yet. They and the matching tanks sound like a great idea!
I love the lilac! Such a pretty color for summer. It looks great on you.
My goodness, you look like a spring day! Love the pastels this time of year. Those shorts look so comfortable. Now that I am back in British Columbia I just know I’m going to miss some of those great stores and their sales. Shipping is not a good option during these times.
I love the lilac shirt and tank and driftwood shorts! So cute for summer 😎! I do hope you are able to share some things from the Bible conference. We can always use that in our daily walk.
Beautiful color selections. I have a lilac button up, guess it’s time for yellow!
I agree about studying scripture to discern false doctrines. I wish I could have seen the tank without the shirt to get an idea how it looks on average women and not the model. The first sandals are so cute. That’s the only flat heel I like because it’s at least an inch.
I love AiG. What a great ministry!!! Nice reversible tank!
Glad you enjoyed your conference and time with your daughter.
Love the JJill outfits. That would make a great gift too.
Thanks
I really like both outfits. I love the shirt over the same colored tank. Enjoy your time with your parents.
Kay, I really like how you styled the button up with the reversible tank. It looks fresh, and I think it is a great way to have a third layer without adding heat. Thank you for sharing!
Finally! A model I can identify with! Great job!
Love J Jill and the outfits you showed
We use Answers in Genesis Sunday School Curriculum at my church and love it! I also love your spring outfits from J.Jill. We are having a cold spell, but hoping to wear spring clothes soon.
Dear Kay: Thank you for your thoughtful beautifully put together style board in answer to my question about new pieces for spring/summer after weight loss. You’ve give me so many wonderful ideas. I’ve already ordered a few things! And I love the sunlight yellow pieces that you are wearing from J.Jill today. What a classic look – a linen blouse over a tank top surely says it’s summertime in upstate New York!. – Alice
Great, easy combination of items!
Love both of these looks – so easy breezy springy! But the yellow is my fav! And oh how I wish I could still wear shorts!
Thank you for your comments about how to remain strong in your faith and not be deceived. Currently I am doing a daily Bible reading through our church and I am also part of an organization in Canada called Bible Study Fellowship. I find this rather heavy duty as each week there is a lesson and homework! Then we meet once a week to discuss the lesson and then a video sums up the weekly lesson. Quite a commitment but worth it.
As far as clothing goes, I have way too much so am trying to cut down. My downfall is denim and dresses. Trying to behave!
I love JJill! It’s my favorite store to shop at. Their clothes are so well made that they last for years and still look good!
I always love your Posts you Share with us about your faith. I especially liked todays Post about being on guard .
I always struggle putting together outfits when the weather varies so much. Do you think if it gets warm, the button up shirt can come off & the outfit would still look good?
I think it could. Although personally I would probably not wear the tank and I’d swap in a t-shirt or short sleeve button up shirt.
