I remember wearing a turquoise Izod polo top frequently in about the 11th grade. What about you? Did you have your polo top days, too? Well, they’re back! Actually we’ve been seeing the resurgence of the button collar tee for a couple of years now, but this year they seem to be more popular than ever. So today I’m breaking down how to style the trending polo top for spring.

First, let’s address exactly what type of polo top is on trend for 2025. Don’t go rummaging through your attic or basement for that Izod of your youth. Instead you’ll want to look for a modern polo in one of the trending fabrications.

I’m specifically seeing a lot of form-fitting and ribbed polo tops. You will indeed find those that are very body con, but you do not have to choose that option. A body-skimming polo is very on trend. And most of these are very stretchy, providing for lots of comfort and ease of movement. Traditionally the polo top is a knit top with a button placket at the neckline. But you’ll also see some with zipper openings. (The trending Johnny collar has that same opening at the collar but without the buttons.)

The beauty of the body-skimming polo top is that it works nicely with the wider leg jeans and trousers we are wearing in 2025. That trimmer silhouette up top balances the wider one below, potentially giving you that desirable hourglass shape.

You can also easily pair the body-skimming polo top with flowy pants or skirts for similar balance in proportions. Depending on the length of your polo top, you could tuck or leave untucked. Just make sure your waist is defined and that the outfit is proportional volume-wise.

If you enjoy wearing the trending polo top, stock your closet with them for spring and summer. Of course, you can probably wear them into the fall, too. If you choose the fabric content carefully, you’ll find that they are not hot, but in fact very comfortable even as the temperatures rise.

I find it very easy to tuck the trending polo top because it is already close to the body and it generally does not bunch up inside the waistband of your pants or skirt. Tucking will often help you achieve the best proportions, depending on the rise of your pants and your personal body proportions. It also looks neat and polished.

You could also do just a front tuck if you feel more confident not tucking your shirt all the way around. Most of the trending polo tops are very soft, stretchy and easy to work with, making this an ideal top for a partial tuck.

Depending on the length of your polo top, you could also leave it untucked. Just make sure your waist is defined and that the outfit is proportional volume-wise. I left the polo top untucked in the outfit above and I think it works well only because the top is not too long. It bears repeating, it’s all about proportions.

When it comes to accessorizing, I like to take advantage of that open neckline. Layer some dainty necklaces like I did above or wear a more impactful statement necklace like I did with the poppy pink polo in the other outfit.

Since the trending polo top is a masculine inspired garment, I think it’s smart to keep your look feminine with pretty jewelry, sandals and a ladylike handbag. You can also add a feminine touch by choosing your polo in a pretty shade like pink or yellow. Also expect to see plenty of polo style dresses to choose from this spring and summer, too.
What do you think? Will you wear polo tops this spring and summer? I definitely prefer the slimmer fit and the ribbed fabric of the trending polo for 2025 over the ones I wore in the 80s. I’ve gather several nice options to choose from to include in the shopping widget below.

Blessed for My Day
I’ve gotten into trouble more times that I care to admit with my words. Can you relate? Sometimes the compulsion to share all of my thoughts on a subject just overwhelms my sensibilities and wins out. But in the end, I’m the loser. The Bible reminds us that, “When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable.” Notice it doesn’t just say that many words are risky. It adamantly proclaims that many words are never a good idea.
Oh, to be a woman of few words! There is such wisdom in restraining ourselves from saying every thought that crosses our minds. Later in the book penned by James, we learn that the key to practicing this kind of wisdom is to be quick to hear and slow to speak. We must give the other person more time to share and give ourselves more time to really think before we speak. Today that is my goal: to take my time with words – both theirs and mine – so that I only speak that which truly needs to be said.
When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable,
But one who restrains his lips is wise. ~ Proverbs 10:19

Love the pink and red striped polo shirt….you look fantastic!
I like the polo tops. And yes I’ll probably pull out on I’ve had a few yes. But it doesn’t had a logo on it. So is the bunker jewelry back this season too?
Kay, You are at La Encantada my fav place here in Tucson! I had my eye on this polo in red, but the pink looks so good I you…maybe need two…. Fondly, Ann Marie
I love the polo tops! They look very nice on you!
I really like your Blessed For My Day today. I need to learn to listen more and maybe not voice my opinion so much.
I do love a polo shirt. I am petite so the wide leg pants give trouble. I think a body skimming polo will look great. Now to head out to try some on together!
Thanks.
I love this pink polo so much. The ribbed texture is nice and I love a collar on my shirts because my neck is always cold in air conditioning! This is a winner.
Oh, Izod brings back fun memories. I need to think more too
The polo top trend is one I’ll be wearing. I love them and loved how you styled them!
A feminine look to a basic shirt, and I love it! Thank you for showing the polo with the accessories to make it appealing. The pink ribbed polo looks great on you.
I would like tips for styling a t-shirt/ polo shirt for someone with a tummy. I feel that they emphasize the tummy.
Hi Sue, Really I would still style them the same way. You might not want to tuck or belt. But you should still choose one that is fitted so that it skims the body. You also want one that is not too long so that you could leave it untucked but it still ends just below the hips, no further down. Choose one in a solid, not a stripe. And you might want to wear it in the same intensity of pants for the most slenderizing look.
I too wore those Izod Polo shirts back in the day! The pink one is so pretty on you!
I like the idea of the polo. For me it’s better than a tee and I like the open collar for jewelry. I’ll definitely be getting some for this Spring and Summer.
Hi Kay!
Thank you for keeping us current. I tend to resist wearing polo shirts because we have a family friend who is a very manly woman, and that’s what she wears! I love your points on how to make polos more feminine. Thanks for all you do and God bless you today!
Really enjoyed seeing ways to wear spring polos. Loved the red stripe ribbed polo from JCrew. great sale price also. Think I will size up so the polo is not clinging to my body. Thanks Kay!
I really like the red striped polo! I anxiously await your email every day, and immediately drop everything to read it when I see that it has come through! Thanks for all your great outfit ideas and fashion tips!
There could not be a more excited person than me for the return of the polo. I have already been wearing it for a couple years, hadn’t realized I was on the cutting edge, haha. It suits my style to a tee!
Kay,
I have the pink polo from Talbots and love it. I’m tempted to buy it in red..
I enjoyed this post.
Thanks,
Mary
I have always loved polo tops. The ribbed one is especially cute!
These Polos seem like they will be real work horses in our Spring/Summer wardrobes! Pretty basic.
I had already ordered the pink polo shirt and had to size up, as I don’t like it to fit too close. I just ordered the other polo in blue/white and hope that the larger size fits on that as well. I think I will get a lot of wear in these!
Hi, Kay! I love the black polo with the black trousers. I. was wondering if you could address those of us who have to wear long sleeves in all seasons? Mine is a medical condition, but I am aware that some religions require long sleeves and some offices (who service those religions) do too. I understand if you can’t. I just thought I would ask. Maryanne
I enjoyed your Blessed for My Day! I too need to be reminded to be a woman of fewer words.
I really like the look of the polos you styled today! I’m not a fan of ribbed fabric, but these didn’t look clingy as they often can be. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Kay. Love the polo tops on you, especially the striped one! Those are definitely great options for spring and summer. Thank you for the Blessed for My Day, too. Words to ponder, for sure.
Why oh why did I not keep all my Lands End polos from the 90’s ???? I have a few newer ones so thanks for the styling helps 🙂
Fabulous looks! Too bad I hate my super skinny arms and never wear short sleeves. I love the looks you have here. I wish I could wear those types of tops.
Kay, that pink is truly your color. You look radiant in it! I wish I could wear that shade. I will just have to admire the color on you and others with cool coloring.
Love the twill pants from Talbot. I have fond memories of polo dresses. Who knew I’d want one again. Thanks for your inspiration.
In the 80s we wore them layered in different colors with the collars all popped.
I didn’t have any, but I knew people who did!
I am all for the return of the polo top. I like summer tops with a short sleeve (rather than sleeveless) so these polos are ideal for me.
Love the polo shirt I wore in the 70’s and so happy that at the young age of 64 I can wear it again! Thanks for all the info and links. I was able to get a great deal on the ones from J Crew.
Have a blessed day!
Oh my! I had a yellow and navy blue stripe polo in 9th grade that I wore constantly. I’m on the fence about this style because I am very small up top and feel like a little boy when I wear this kind of top but never say never.
Yes to polo shirts and dresses!
Glad you made it back from your trip! This time change has me all mixed up myself. I have not worn to my collared shirts but think I might try one of these and give it a try.
Thanks so much for the wise reminder to be quick to listen and slow to speak. I certainly need encouragement in this area daily so my phone screen right now is “Be still”, Psalm 46:10. Enjoyed another informative post for my DFMD!
I like the pink polo with the pink stone! You look beautiful wearing that.
I had a friend years ago who wore several different color polos layered with a couple of jean jackets on top, all of the collars popped, and the jacket cuffs turned back. I thought she was so cool!
I like the striped polo! These look dressier then the polos from my past.
I’ve loved polo shirts since the 80s! Glad they continue to be stylish!
I love a bright colored polo! All the pinks and turquoise have always been my go to colors.
I remember Izod shirts. I wasn’t very preppy in my youth. I dress more preppy as I have aged though. I like how you styled the polo shirts. I need to get a polo in a color.
I love Tucson and recognized Encantada in the shoot. My favorite polo is the red and white stripe shorter length , looks so cute! However , No ribbed fabrics for me .
I like an updated polo shirt. You gave us some great options.
I have not worn a polo since “back in the day”. But that ribbed polo you showed is something I’d be willing to wear. Great info, as always. Thank you.
This is a joke….But is it really fair to challenge me to be a woman of few words in a week when you’ve also challenged me to comment on your blog posts??? 😀
Hahaha! Just choose them carefully!😉
Hmmm. Not sure about this one. Was not a fan of the polo shirt back then and don’t think I’m quite on board this time either. I am one of those flat rectangle shapes and it just doesn’t look attractive on my body type no matter how I try to spruce it up.
That being said, I love all the ones you are wearing, especially the red striped one and the black one. I never owned any red or stripe tops until you featured one top last year and I love it. I find it so fun to wear especially during the spring summer. The black one looks great as does the hot pink one. They all work well especially the way you styled them. Definitely not your 80’s top.
I love polo shirts, and have several in my spring and summer wardrobes. Sounds like this the year to add a few more!
You look great in these polo shirts, but whenever I wear them, they look too masculine. Maybe I should try a soft pink or lavender? Maybe with white or off-white pants? I’ll have to explore further.
I am not a big polo shirt fan; however, the ones you styled are very nice and feminine. You look great in all these polos, Kay, Thanks for all your great styling tips!
i like the newer versions of the polo shirts. i do remember wearing the izods and others in my youth . the current ones are more feminine.
What a fun blast from the past! My friend and I used to do color consulting in the 80’s and we picked up a line of polo shirts to sell as well. We sold shirts in winter colors embroidered w “Winter” and a little snowflake, summer-colored shirts with a “Summer” and a little sun, Autumn and Spring. And I just put two polos on my Talbots wish list yesterday. Ha! Thanks for styling the “poppy” pink. I was wondering if it was too warm a pink, but it looks cool enough in your pictures. May just add it to my list. Thanks, Kay!
Hahaha! What a fun memory. Thanks for sharing, Lael.
love the ribbed material on the polo shirt. Was never a fan of Polo Shirts but it looks great on you so I will try a spring color.
I was never a fan of the polo shirts but it looks great on you so I think I will try one in a spring color. Love the ribbed material.
Hello everyone,
I am 66 and have worn polo shirts in the summer since I don’t know how long. Nice to know I’ll be in style this spring and summer. Love the pink!!
I absolutely love that beautiful shade of pink and it looks outstanding on you!
Thanks for sharing!
Hello, everyone! I prefer a collar because of my long neck, so polo shirts will be a great addition. I’m glad to hear they are trending. I appreciate the longer sleeves on the red & white stripped polo to cover my aging upper arms but still stay cool & modern. Thanks for the tips!
I think a polo shirt is a nice alternative to a basic T. I agree with your suggestion to accessorize with feminine accessories. Also, I just took my first plunge into a barrel jean and I can see one of these tops, maybe the red and white stripe, with a barrel jean and a cute red Mary Jane. As always, thank you for your insight and hard work.
Yes, that sounds like a great combination! very modern.
Love the polo shirts!
Love polo tees, and will use your advice.
I have never seen so many comments! I love that you include a scripture and its application in our daily life. At my age I still say‘when I grow up’ I want to be more like you. Thanks!
Thanks for this post, Kay. I am so glad polo shirts are trending – they fit in well with lyrics style sensibilities!
Also loved today’s BFMD – thank you for the reminder.
I am in the same boat as you -feeling a little groggy today after springing ahead this week-end. However, it is a relatively mild day (low 50’s) and gloriously sunny! It was a very long winter for us in upstate New York.
The Keds Bliss Walkers really caught my eye! I went to their website with some trepidation – Keds have gotten fairly expensive these last few years. I was delighted to see that they are very reasonably priced and with your discount code, they are a very good price, indeed. I was ready to order, but I was hesitant, because I wasn’t sure how they would fit. I went back to your “mimi”:) post, and you didn’t mention if they run TTS or run a little larger or smaller. Would you advise me? Thank you so much.
Alice Rowe
Hi Alice, yes, I should have added that info. I do apologize. They are a generous fit in the toe box. I have the Skimmers, but would really prefer to try the lace-up styles. The Skimmer is a little roomy on me so I would probably need to wear it with a no-show sock.
I love the pink polo and the whole outfit you wore with it! The necklace really looked great with it too! I have never commented before but I really enjoy your posts and your kind, sincere and well thought out posts and videos. You can tell you put quite a lot of effort into your posts and your videos. Thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing, Ruby. Nice to hear from you!
The polo dresses look very nice. I’m needing new clothes since loosing 30 lbs and I can see one in my future!
My favorite tops are Johnny collar sweaters and polo shirts. They seem to be the most flattering necklines for me. The most important part is that the fabric isn’t clingy and just skims the body.
Yes, I’m partial to Johnny collars, too. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Kay, I really enjoyed your post (as always!). I love the pink polo; it looks great on you! I have found that with ribbed tops, I need to size up to be comfortable. I do enjoy wearing those.
I did size up in the J.Crew striped top to a large. But I found the Talbots polos to be generously sized as usual, so the medium works well. Thanks for sharing!
As I was reading this, I kept thinking “I love this look on other people but not myself”. It maybe is too preppy for me as well as (like you said) too masculine inspired. You balance it well, though, with the feminine touches. Especially the ribbed one, that’s a nice touch.
We have a very long warm/hot season here in Texas. I’ve been thinking about alternatives to regular t-shirts that I grow weary of. The polo is a nice, polished look to add to my wardrobe. I’ve been looking for camp shirts, too. I love a shirt with a collar! Thanks Kay!
that’s what I thought too, Elizabeth. But I discovered in person that the Talbots ribbed SS polos are a little too heavy for TX summers. (60+ days over 100 degrees in Austin) At least for me. They will be mainly a Spring and Fall top. Maybe cooler days in June. But that’s fine. I like the slightly heavier knit more than the very lightweight ribbed tees Talbots was selling last spring w/ lace at the v-neck. They’re not quite so form fitting.
Yes, I have worn polo tops for years, especially the classic Ralph Lauren ones! Love them with white denim in the summer. I liked the ribbed texture and creative necklines too. Glad to see them returning! Your devotional is extra meaningful in this age of social media and being a keyboard warrior. We all need to think/pray more and talk/type less!!
Wise words.
I do like to “polo” tops! I think I will be going to Talbot’s to check them out for something a little different to add to my wardrobe.
Thanks for the style tips for polos.
Hello, Kay, I remember back in the 80’s, I loved wearing the polo with Izod. It was one of my favorite shirts to wear. I really like the look of the ribbed polo top, the color is beautiful. I think I might just have to get me one this spring. Thank you for sharing with us.
Polo shirts are fun for the golf course or tennis courts.
I sent an email through contacts. Here is the same email. Hooray for the polo top being back in style. The pink one you first modeled is lovely, the color is very pleasant on you, Thank you for the tips on styling the polo top. One question, when doing a full tuck with a top, how do you keep it from bunching up when tucked? I try to smooth it out, but it doesnt always work. I appreciat your tips and ideas for keeping us modern and not frumpy Thank you and have a blessed dya. Kaye from Salem, VA
Honestly, as you’ve found, it’s hit or miss. But with the tops I showed today it was easy since the shirts fit close to the body without a lot of excess fabric. Otherwise, I do try to flatten the front under the waistband and push excess fabric towards the back.
Hi, Kay,
I like the updated polo look. It’s fresh and doesn’t scream “golf shirt.” I’m not sure how well it will work for me at the moment, but I am planning to give it a try. I’m 5’4”, a size L/12 on top, (38DD), and an 8 on the bottom. So i’m oval shaped with most of my weight on top. I’m working on losing some weight, but in the meantime I’m doing ok with my polo sweater front-tucked. I’ll definitely try finding a polo that’s not tightly ribbed, and/or I’ll try sizing up. Fingers crossed! 😊
I really think the key to dress the oval shape body is to wear clothes that are more fitted than most women would assume. A fitted top (not tight, but fitted and skimming the body) is an oval shaped woman’s best friend. It defines the body without showing bulges or bumps. (We’ve all got them!) So a top like these worn over nicely fitting pants should be a real go-to. No need to cross those fingers! You may not want to tuck it, but that’s fine with these lengths.
LOVE THESE SHIRTS…PERFECT FOR SPRING. tHE JOHNNY COLLAR WITHOUT THE BUTTONS IS MY FAVORITE….PERHAPS A BIT MORE POLISHED!!!
I love the pool tops. So cute, casual and comfy! Like the idea of the open neck too. I agree looks great with a necklace.
Pink is your color! Very nice!
I love the pink one, that would be my pick. Thank you for sharing.
I just love polo tops and Johnny collar tops. I think the collars bring attention to detail for a shirt. Really liked the rib polo shirts in your blog.
Ah the iconic polo with the curling collar after 2 washings. Hmmmm, so Kay, how do you guard against the curled collar tips? I love the ribbed knit look but can’t tell if the collar fabric is the same or is that traditional composition that curls so frustratingly.
Good question. I’d forgotten about that! No, these collars do not curl. And I’ve already washed the striped one and it did really well. I let it air dry. I really expect the ones I have here to all stay laying flat.
Hooray! and thank you for verifying how they come out of the laundry. Good to note to air dry.
Thanks for the tip to keep the other “parts” to an outfit more on the feminine side, Kay. I’d not thought of that before but it makes sense to me.
I always loved polo shirts! So glad to see they’re back in style! That pink one looks fabulous on you, Kay!
I enjoyed you reminiscing about polos of the 80’s and had a closet full of them. Looking forward to wearing the modern styles you modeled.
Once again you look so nice in everything.
I’m trying to cut back on my buying but I think I may need to get one of these tops (or three!)
Glad you’re safely home and hope you had a fun time.
I love the look of these polos and think they are great for spring. Unfortunately I’m a tall (5’9”) plus size woman and prefer to wear my tops longer for a more flattering fit with my body type.
I’m so glad to see the polo come back. It’s always been a favorite look for me, and the ribbed, stretchy fabric will be so comfortable to wear. My favorite is the red/white stripe, as I’m always partial to stripes!! Thanks for the research. Sure does save us a lot of time.
I’ve been wanting to try the new polo trend and this may be just the nudge I need. Aslo, I want to try tucking it in too!
I’m very thankful that the polo shirts shown have a tailored fit!! I have a triangle shaped body. I need to show a defined waist!! The polo shirts are calling my name this season😊
Really enjoyed your post about the polo shirt. I feel they are classy looking and more elevated than a t-shirt. I plan on wearing mine that I bought last year, again this year. Particularly loved your print pants with the polo shirt. Elevated!!.
I’m looking forward to going back to polos. I hope to find a couple of cute polo dresses. I enjoy the daily posts.
Hi Kay, I too wore polo shirts during my childhood and young adult years. The collar/lines of these knits suit me much more than crew neck tees and are more polished on me than v-neck tees. When I started seeing them again in stores I grabbed every one I could find in my wardrobe colors. Now that they are more plentiful I’m snagging cardigans, sleeveless, sweatshirts/loungwear, really every type that I can find. Hip hip hooray for polls and Johnny collars.
Karen
I love this pink!!! This polo is on my wishlist for next time. Should’ve picked that up yesterday with%40 off. HAHA! Next time. Love this inspiration, Kay.
I’m all in for this trend and I think a collar is attractive on an “older” neck!!!!
Have always liked polo shirts! Thank you for sharing ways to wear them. Recently ordered a striped long sleeve polo shirt from Landsend. Can’t wait til it gets here in April! Will be perfect to wear in our cold spring weather in Colorado.
Thought provoking that the Scripture basically says wrongdoing is unavoidable when we talk to much! I need to take that to heart. Love the post about polo shirts. They look so good on you! Need to check to see if they come in petite sizes.
Love the comfort of a polo shirt with nice sleeve length and conservative neckline. I find that because of the collar they go best with a cardigan or a jacket without a collar.
Love the polo trend .
Love this classic look!
I discovered polos a couple of years ago and really enjoy wearing them especially with jeans or white jeans.
Love the polo tops and just received a ribbed navy one in the mail. Love the looks on you, especially the pink. I love Talbots, so I plan to order it.
Love your blog and thanks for all your hard work to keep us all well dressed! It is much appreciated!
For me it’s hard to go back to something like the polos and the bell bottoms. But I see others wearing them and they look nice.
I’ve been enjoying the polo and johnny collar tops, too. I have a pretty light pink one from Ann Taylor that has small pearl buttons (from last year). I just pulled it out and am waiting on the next warmer day in Florida that I can wear it.
I have a question about the Jordan dress you showed last week in your Avara order. Does it have a waistline seam? Being long waisted, it is difficult to buy dresses with a waistline seam that fit comfortably. Thanks! Love your inspirations.
I haven’t received it yet. But stay tuned for an update! 😉
I like the red and white stripe a lot. However, I’m not sure I like the fabric. I love your photos. I’m thinking it must be Arizona. Also, I’d love a 3/4 sleeve which I know veers away from a polo.
Oh, I wore a lot of polo tops in the 1980s! Still like them and will buy another one this year, I know! But it won’t be close-fitting, as that is not a good look on me!
I do like the modern version of the polo shirt better than what we wore back in the 80’s! I graduated from high school in 1982… anyway I never really wore very many polo shirts… I guess I thought at the time that it was too preppy lol! I believe I would wear them now and I really do like the pink one!
I love the polo shirts. I have trouble with proportions since I am 5’11”
The polos look really good on you. Not sure if I will get any for regular casual wear since so many of my golf shirts are that style — I don’t want to get tired of wearing them. I do have two Johnny collar sweaters that I enjoy wearing
While I do like the look of a Polo, I find it challenging to find one with a sleeve length that is to terribly short. I’m also not comfortable with a shirt that is too formal fitting.
Yes, I’m excited to wear polo shirts this spring and summer! I think they’re a sharp looking alternative to a tshirt. Thanks for the styling ideas!
Love the pink polo on you but not my style. I will l pass on this style. loved the purse you were carrying. So cute! Yes,the time change is always a challenge for me. I don’t sleep well for a few days. Love Proverbs Good BFMD

The red striped is so great on you! I just bought a chocolate brown polo with blue and cream stripes. It’s actually more loose fitting, but has a more cropped silouette. I was planning to wear it with straight leg jeans and chocolate suede ballet flats.
Kay,
I purchased the ribbed polo from Talbots. First in pink – I loved it so much, that I ordered the red, but I may get the black instead. It is so comfortable, cool, and easy to tuck in. 5 ⭐️ on the top. Thanks.
“Quick to listen and slow to speak”
Oh I need to practice this!!!! Thank you even more for these wise words.
Tammie
I’m a big fan of polos. I wore so many polo tees and dresses years ago. So preppy! I’m adding a Talbots polo to update my spring wardrobe.
I’m excited polos have made a comeback. They always make an outfit a little more elevated than just a plain T-shirt.
The polo top has never been one of my favorite looks. I don’t believe I’ll take part in this trend, especially since I’ve gained far too much weight in my midsection.
They look nice on you, though, Kae.
Yes, polos…I do remember the trend. However, I was never a polo gal because I don’t like the feel of a collar of any kind around my neck. I do like seeing them on other women though.
So glad the polo is back- looks slimming and feminine when paired correctly. Thank you for the post!
I love that pink polo top, Kay! For me, viscose is a cool and breathable fabric, so it will be comfortable much of the year. The ribbed tops are so cute – as you say, they skim the body without being too tight. And I like a collar to frame my face.
Thanks for explaining where to click to comment. I’ve been wanting to comment for a while but didn’t know how! Thanks Kay…love your blogs, posts, videos and Instagram posts. I’ve learned so much.
Thanks Kay (or Lucy) for putting store name and price on items in widget. Makes it easier to hone in on our favorites!
Back in my 20’s (early 1980’s), my friends and I went to this really nice local men’s and boy’s shop during some big sale and stocked up on boy’s sized Polo shirts for $6.00 each – what a deal!! I loved wearing my polo shirts. Thanks for sparking that trip down Memory Lane!
I might like to add a modern polo style shirt this spring.
I love the pink polo with the statement necklace. I do like the polo look, in fact, I have that style in a sweater, dress, and 3/4 length top. Have a great day Kay!
You make the polo shirts look feminine. Such pretty combinations.
Thanks for another winning post, Kay! I’ve long been a fan of the polo shirt (and polo dresses) and I am delighted to see them at the forefront of the spring/summer season. Very stylish, indeed!
I have several polo tops from the past I was considering wearing; But, after your comments about todays styles that are ribbed and realizing how flattering they are, I am considering buying one; I love the pink on you, very flattering for your skin tone. :
Love these tops, especially the ribbed pink one! I especially like the longer sleeves which would cover my arms. Easy to wear with just a simple front tuck!
Love the polo with a wide leg pant! The pink one would great for spring. Yes I had polos and izods in high school! 😁 Thanks for sharing.
Love the pink polo!!! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve always loved polo shirts because of their open necks, and I especially love johnny collars because of their even more exaggerated necklines. I love your red & white striped polo with jeans above. So classic, yet modern!
This is one of the trends from my younger years that I will be happy to return to. Thanks for helping us analyze the details. It’s good to know styling options for the top itself, how to effectively accessorize as well as pointing out the subtle details making this fashion rerun fresh. I wouldn’t see these things for myself.
Kay,
I still really appreciate all of your tips. I find myself ordering items I would not have known about if I did not follow you. I found a cute shirt waist dress in navy online at Dillards department store by Ralph Lauren in linen, but I am not looking forward to ironing it. I am desperate for another church dress.
I’ll need to put a slip under it as well. It looks very nice on me, though. I’m 71 and like it coming to my elbows and knee length. I don’t think I would look as good in the two which you modeled this week in the blue and the pink.
Also, I am wondering if you could please remind me what you have done to get in better shape. I can tell you have lost weight or firmed up or something. You look great. You always have, but you look more slim and beautiful. Thank you so much.
All of those polo tops look so nice on you Kay.
I had a red polo, (with a blue stripe) way back in the day, and I loved it. I love the ribbed polos you are showing very sharp. The tips you shared, wearing jewelry and a little accesorizing to look a little more feminine make perfect sense. I love the pink you modeled beautiful color
Kay, you look so lovely in the pink Talbots knit polo! Interestingly last Saturday I shopped there. I new as soon as I put on the black and white floral pants you show here that they were coming home with me. I did not buy the matching top because on me I thought all that print at once would be too much. (And I have so-o many tops already.) I did try on the polo. It looked nice from the front, but a quick look in the mirror showed the back to not be so flattering as it emphasized a few rolls I’d love to lose! They didn’t have the larger size in stock, but with the 40% off I can order one now. Thanks Kay for all you and your team do!
Kay, your ministry through this blog is so personal and encouraging. Thank you for Bible verses on each one. Reading about keeping quiet and not enjoying using too many words is such a great lesson. I know I’ve regretted each time I’ve blurted out something and it just came welling out of my belly to say it! Whoops!
Polo tops are interesting and I especially like that you mention keeping them feminine by using color.
Thank you for your faith most of all, and also shedding light on style!
I love the pink shirt dress from Talbots. So glad the polo shirts are back.
Hi Kay, You look wonderful in these tops. I am of your age, and I wore these in high school as well. Your modern take brings back a classic that is so useful and fits my lifestyle. Thank you again.
I too love a v-neck polo style top. I bought a few you shared a while back from J Crew.
I had one of those aqua polos back in the day! I’ve been wearing these for years and glad they are now trendy.
Thank you for the updated Polo top information. They all look good on you, and I’m glad to know they are trending this year!
I will be doing some traveling this year and this will be a very comfortable addition to my wardrobe!!
