Spring is often full of reasons to celebrate, from Easter and bridal showers to piano recitals and Mother’s Day. And for most every one of those occasions a pretty dress is a lovely choice for the outfit of the day. Today I’m sharing a feminine, beautiful dress from Tuckernuck that I’ve styled two ways. But I’ve gathered up so many other pretty special occasion dresses for spring from the same source.

I had ordered from Tuckernuck a couple of times before when I was looking for dresses for my cruise and for last year’s LTK Con gala. But both times I ended up sending my purchases back in favor of something else. But this time I struck gold! I absolutely adore this Scarlett Sonata Caro Dress. It fits nicely true to size, and it feels like a dream. Let’s see how I styled it.
Casual Special Occasions for Spring
First I styled the Scarlett Sonata Caro Dress for more casual special occasions such as bridal or baby showers, a weekend brunch or an alfresco luncheon.

The Scarlett Sonata Caro Dress is constructed in super soft and lightweight 100% cotton. The rose, red and grey print is feminine and modern, but also unique and classic. I think this is a dress I can wear for years with confidence.

For this more casual look I left off the removable cumber bun style waistband. The dress features soft pleating at the waist, so it still creates a flattering silhouette without cinching the waist. The fit and flare dress features side pockets, dolman sleeves and covered buttons up the entire length of the front of the dress. Tuckernuck carries this house brand dress in a wide range of sizes from XXS to XXXL.

I opted for slide-on sandals in a soft cognac leather to complete this more casual look for a spring occasion. And I carried a crochet and leather shoulderbag in similar colors.

I think this first style is perfect for special spring occasions such as a baby shower, a grandchild’s piano or dance recital, a brunch with friends or a ladies’ event at church.

Dressier Spring Special Occasions
I think the Scarlett Sonata Caro Dress from Tuckernuck is equally suitable for dressier spring special occasions.

For this second look I cinched the waist of the Scarlett Sonata Caro Dress with the cumber bun style waistbelt. This is a truly beautiful accessory that only adds to the beauty of the dress.

This time I carried a white leather bamboo handle satchel gifted to me from Veronica Beard. It might surprise you to learn that white handbags and shoes are very in vogue right now. I’m really enjoying this little bag; it’s the perfect size for my essentials. Since I shot these photos, I have received this raffia envelope clutch and it is absolutely lovely.

Unfortunately my clear wedge heels are just about sold out. But these clear strap heels are very similar and cost significantly less. This style of heel is very on trend and they create a beautiful long leg. But you could also wear a flesh toned heel or white strappy sandal here for an equally dressy look.
Below I’ve gathered other dresses and accessories from Tuckernuck that would help you create suitable looks for special occasions this spring. I think Tuckernuck is a great source for beautiful dresses that you can dress up and down for so many spring events and outings. Tuckernuck offers free returns in the US within 21 days of delivery. Merchandise must be unworn, unwashed, and undamaged with original tags attached for a full refund. They also offer free standard shipping with no minimum.

Blessed for My Day
It’s so very tempting to turn the Bible into a self-help book. Yes, it does indeed give us so much guidance that helps to make our lives better. The book of Proverbs shares secrets for success, the Psalms include hope for the hopeless and courage for the discouraged and the epistles give us perspective and insight for better relationships, among other things.
But let’s remember that above all else the Bible is God’s revelation of Himself. It reveals all we need to know about our Creator to rightly relate to Him. And the most important message for us found throughout the Old and New testaments is the gospel – the good news of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection so that we can be reunited with our holy Creator. When we read the Bible, let’s remember that “it’s not all about me; it’s all about Him.” In fact, I am all about Him.
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. ~ Galatians 2:20

Another beautiful outfit on you Kay. Thank you for all of your hard work. We ladies are so appreciative.
What size are you wearing in the dress? Does it run true to size?
I’m wearing a medium. Yes, it runs true to size for a slightly roomy fit.
The dress is truly lovely, but my favorite today is your BFMD. What a timely reminder.
I really like your Blessed for My Day message today. I totally agree! Thanks Kay.
I love the dress on you. I am petite so I am not sure if it would work for me but I did love the blue striped shirt dress at the bottom of your post. I am considering that. I have also been on the hunt for a white handbag love the Veronica Beard one!
Hi Shiela. I’m a petite as well. I’m 5’3”. I think the dress might require hemming on a petite. But if I’m seeing this dress correctly, it does not have a defined shoulder seam which is a plus for our smaller shoulders. If the torso is right, it could work. I don’t mind hemming a dress, but I shy away from other types of alterations.
Wow! That second look with the added waist belt is stunning! This outfit is waaaaay out of my price range – but I appreciate the style choice.
Beautiful dress. I really enjoy your posts!
I am a fan of Tuckernuck. And actually I’ve been eyeing the dress that Kay featured. I just may pull the trigger on it now. Tuckernuck carries multiple retailers, so it can be hard to predict your size. But one thing that’s extremely helpful is that they publish the measurements of the garment. I bought a Tuckernuck dress for my 70th birthday that fit me so well. I noted the measurements of that dress and compare to others when selecting my size. I recently bought the Tuckernuck “Oxford Harris Shirtdress” in lavender and I sized down for a great fit. Great post Kay. Right now I’m looking for a dress for a May wedding that asks for “formal” attire and I’m going nuts. I thought I found one but I tried it on a second time and decided it didn’t fit right; luckily I’m still within the return window. Back to the drawing board..
Thank you for the BFMD devotion. Love the dress and all your advice on clothing choices.
Good morning Kay,
I’m glad you arrived safely to Georgia where you can enjoy some lovely spring weather. Spring bulbs and blossoms are a favorite time of year.
Beautiful dress. I, too, am petite so would have to hem. Not sure about the cumber bun style waist belt. I carry some weight in my middle and with being short, might seem to emphasize my waist. Love BFTH.
Thank you for the websites that you provide. I had not heard of Tuckernut before and will definitely look at their dresses. Sometimes I’m the only one in the room in a dress or a skirt and wonder why. 🙂 I love a great dress or skirt!
This dress hits all the requirements: v opening at neck, sleeves almost to the elbow, defined waist, length to hit a narrow part of our leg! Flattering print and color too. If we purchase a garment that truly works, we don’t have a need for so many pieces of clothing. Love it!
What a lovely dress! I like your accessories. I bought a green Veronica Beard purse you modeled in March. Have a wonderful and special time visiting your family.
Kay, I like how you styled it in two different ways. I think your choice of flesh-toned and white accessories complement the dres beautifully!
Kay you look absolutely gorgeous in that dress! Love both ways you styled it.. thank you for the BFMD,
I love the dress but I especially love the straw and leather purse with it! Beautiful styling!
Love the devotional message. Lovely dress on you.
Sorry travel was hard. You look so nice in that dress.
What a pretty dress! Really lovely, and lovely on you. A great BFMD as well, as usual! Another lady in the comments asked about a formal wedding outfit – we are attending a black tie wedding in Florida in June and I don’t want to get stuck with a formal gown that is only good for that one event, as this is not an item of clothing I need very often – if ever. I am wondering if there are any separates that would work for an occasion like that which could be split up to wear later in other ways? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I do have some occasions coming up The one that has me stumped is 3 different events for my daughters college graduation the end of April in Indiana. Who knows what the weather will be like!
The dress looks nice and springy. but I could never spend 300. on one dress. I have been checking tjmaxx for dresses that I can try on before buying them. It’s still nice to see them and maybe this year I will use my white shoes and handbags more.
