As the year comes to a close, it’s time to evaluate the past 12 months from different angles. Eventually I’ll share some of my most regrettable purchases over the course of the year. I’ll also run through my favorite outfits that I wore, as well as the most popular blog posts enjoyed by my readers. But today I thought I would start on a bright note with my favorite purchases in 2025.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
I’ve arranged these favorite purchases of 2025 in no particular order. While I’m gifted a lot of items, I tried to stick with things that I actually spent my own money on. That said, I did include just a small handful of things that brands did gift me. But I only allowed myself to put them in the list if I would indeed spend my money on a replacement.
I’ve provided a shopping link to items that are available, as well as a link to the original blog post where you can see more about the outfit shown.
Brochu Walker Everyday Shirt
I enjoyed several first-time purchases from Brochu Walker this year, but one of my favorites is definitely the Everyday Shirt. I have a lot of white button-front shirts at this point, but I like this one for it’s super soft but heftier fabric.

The shirt is that perfect mix of casual and a little elevated. The crisp fabric makes it easy to pop the collar. And the sleeves are wide enough for my fuller upper arms.
High Rise Track Pants
You’ll definitely notice that my favorite purchases in 2025 are those that truly fit into my casual lifestyle. I sometimes buy more aspirational pieces that I end up not wearing much. But my favorites are those that see more wear-time.

I purchased the green and the navy Venice high rise track stripe wide leg pants last winter, and wore them both frequently through the spring. The track stripe is still very on trend. And I like that you can wear these so many ways – with a cashmere sweater or a sweatshirt, with a short sleeve t-shirt and denim jacket or a long sleeve tee and trench coat.
Saddle Belt
Sometimes the “little things” make the biggest difference in an outfit. And having those things on hand makes getting dressed for your day so much easier and more enjoyable. The saddle belt from Brochu Walker has been one of those purchases for me.

This no-holes belt works beautifully with dresses, jeans, pants and even blazers and cardigans. I like the true cognac color and the rough texture of the belt.
Palmer Diamond Dome Necklace
My new Palmer diamond dome pendant necklace was definitely an investment purchase, but one I am so pleased with. No one had to convince me that it’s important to reward yourself occasionally as a small business owner. Since I began turning a profit about two years after starting my blog in 2018, I’ve always given my employees an annual bonus and I’ve given myself permission to buy a little reward for a successful year. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate the hard work, but also the little successes I’ve enjoyed along the way.

This Haverhill necklace was actually about $500 less expensive when I purchased it just weeks ago, and it was 25% off. Wow. The price has definitely gone up. But I guess that’s the beauty of a necklace like this: the value goes up over time instead of down. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I’m so pleased with it.
Satchel Bag
Of course you also have to love it when you snag a high quality item at a much lower price. This convertible satchel from Quince is at a much lower price than my very similar Coach bag, but the quality is truly just as good.

In fact, this bag even has a few features my other one does not have, like magnetic closures on the side openings. I love the color, the texture and the size of this bag. And you can carry it as a satchel, a shoulder bag or even a crossbody.
Floris Wide Leg Pants
I’m a big fan of corduroy in the fall and winter, but this year I’ve most enjoyed my cords in the more modern wide legs. The soft maple color of these Varley Floris wide leg pants has made them the most versatile and wearable.

These are pants I reach for again and again. They’re comfortable and on trend.
Noemie Boot
Western style boots are very on trend this year. But I haven’t felt inclined to purchase any. So when I came across these Noemie booties from Michael Kors, I felt like they checked that box nicely, but with more subtlety.

I’ve worn these boots frequently because the light suede works so nicely with lighter wash jeans and pants. Also they’re just really comfortable.
Sutter Bootie
It turns out these favorite Sutter booties were the unsung heroes of several of my outfits. We couldn’t even find a photo in which they were featured. But I have worn my black leather or brown suede Sutter booties so many times this winter.

These sleek booties are very on trend, but also comfortable. They feature a mid-height heel and a slender shaft that goes under jeans and pants so nicely.
Suede Satchel Bag
I was actually on the hunt for a lighter colored bag when I found this husk suede satchel at Michael Kors. It’s called a small satchel, but I think it’s a nice medium size. It has ample room for the necessities and then some.

But I suppose the reason this suede bag has become a favorite is because it matches the Michael Kors Noemie booties.
Barely Boot Jean
I have several pairs of wide leg jeans I love and wear frequently, but the one pair of bootcut jeans I have in my closet is from Talbots. I was actually quite surprised at how well these barely boot jeans fit and feel.

While I love the look and feel of my wide leg jeans, they’re not all practical for my daily life. I tend to need to wear heels with those. But I can wear these barely boot jeans with heeled or flatter booties, as well as sneakers. And they’re comfortable enough for everyday wear.
The High Hopes Pants
I’m actually wearing my Ayr High Hopes pants as I type up this post today. They feature a polished ponte knit fabric and a smooth finish.

I like that the Ayr High Hopes pants work beautifully with the flannel shirt I’m wearing today as well as a cashmere sweater. They’re great for at home and travel, but I think they’d even dress up nicely for the office or dinner out. They run true to size. The Ayr High Hopes pants were actually gifted to me, but I’d buy them again in a heartbeat. And I probably will end up buying them in another color.
The Una Flat
Likewise the M.Gemi Una ballet flats were gifted to me. But from the time I first put them on I’ve wondered what I did without them. They’re comfortable right out of the box, and these unique looking flats work so nicely with so many things, especially ankle length pants.

These year-round ballet flats will certainly get more wear in the spring, but I do wear them now at home. They come in a number of other nice colors, but I am so glad I have them in the light tan.
Shirt Dress
I don’t get to wear many of my dresses more than once because I’ve received so many this year. But I’ve made the effort to wear this green corduroy shirt dress several times. It’s so on trend but also a classic.

Maybe that’s another take-away from these favorite purchases of 2025. They seem to mostly be classics with a modern vibe. And yes, comfortable, too.
Scotland Getaway Set
The Frank & Eileen Scotland getaway set is another dark green fav from the year. Truth is, I do have a weakness for this dark green hue.

This set just feels and looks so elevated, but also effortless and casual. I enjoyed wearing it at the resort in the Adirondacks and during Thanksgiving. But I also plan to wear it on Christmas day.
Cropped Cable Knit Cardigan
I’ve also been wearing the cropped cable knit cardigan from Frank & Eileen a lot this fall and winter. Some days I slip it on over my pajamas in the morning. Other times I wear it for the day over a flannel shirt and jeans.

Because it’s cotton, it washes in the machine like a dream. Then I lay flat to dry. This sand color is in low stock, but they have more of other shades.
Veronica Beard Tote Bag
I got the Veronica Beard grand Goody leather tote in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in July. And I’ve carried it frequently ever since then. I love the soft neutral color and the equally soft texture of the leather.

Because the bag has a magnetic closure exterior pocket and ample interior pockets, it makes a great travel bag. It’s still available (and 60% off!) and comes in navy, too.
Plaid Cotton Blend Dickey Jacket
I was a little concerned when I purchased the Clayton plaid dickey jacket that I wouldn’t actually wear it that much. But I ended up wearing it frequently through the spring and summer, and in multiple ways.

This cotton blend jacket is also comfortable and fits true to size. I wore it with white and blue jeans, as well as white, blue and yellow tanks.
Plaid Cardigan Blazer
Here’s another plaid blazer that became a fast favorite. Really this lightweight viscose and wool blend jacket from Madewell can be a four-season completer piece.

As you’ll see below, this relaxed fit blazer works well with jeans, but also more casual pants. I love wearing blazers, but for my casual lifestyle I find myself needing more relaxed styles like this one.
Endless Highrise Pants
I have multiple pairs of these Endless highrise pants and wear them frequently, especially in the fall and spring. They’re great for travel, neighborhood walks, golf or just daily wear.

I highly recommend these pants. They are comfortable and versatile, but also a little elevated.
Harbor Short in Linen
During the summer I enjoyed wearing a couple of pairs of the linen Harbor shorts from J.Crew. These 6″ shorts fit so nicely and look sharp.

I don’t wear shorts as much as I used to. But when I do, I like for them to fit a little loose. I also still prefer they look polished.
Soleil Linen Pant
I also had several pairs of the Soleil linen pants for summer. These drawstring linen pants were comfortable, but also very on trend for summer 2025.

I’m hoping to wear my red, black and light yellow linen pants again this next summer.
Tory Burch Miller Sandals
Speaking of summer, here’s a pair of summer sandals I wore frequently. I’d had a pair of the Tory Burch Miller sandals in the shade makeup for a few summers, so I knew I loved wearing them.

But because I like to wear cognac accessories a lot, I thought it would be a good idea to get a pair in this vintage vachetta. Sure enough, I ended up opting for them frequently.
Paul Green Platform Sneaker
I picked up the Paul Green gold platform sneakers when I saw another influencer wearing them. Yes, I was influenced. And what a great purchase they turned out to be! Paul Green shoes are always so comfortable and durable.

And while metallic is definitely on trend, I really like that these are a soft, brushed gold, not too shiny or brash.
Looking back over my favorite purchases of 2025, I notice the common themes of comfortable but elevated and classic but with a modern vibe. Realizing that staying true to my real lifestyle and preferred style essence helps me make the best purchases, I’m committing to those ideals moving forward into 2026.

Blessed for My Day
“for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army of angels praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased.” ~ Luke 2:11-14
Kay, thanks for taking time today to share these items. I noticed many of the items were accessories…bags, boots, shoes and a belt. To me, they are the things that make or break a well-curated outfit. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
My favorite on you of your favorites – your VB blue/yellow plaid blazer. IMO, that blazer is a total win for you in every way! Merry Christmas to you and yours! 🙂
I thought it was a little surprising that of your favorite things I only had 4 items that was in my favorite list. I think you are very more laid back than I am in my wardrobe. Even though I am retired I must have a more dressier style. I love your style but more you and I love your site .
I like the elevated white blouse, the endless pants by Athleta, I have 3 pairs in various colors and the casual blazer from Madewell. These 2 are very favorite pieces. Also like the Michael Kors suede purse.
You And your family have a very Merry Christmas. God bless.
