Hopefully you’ve built a wardrobe full of the fabrics and colors you enjoy in the pieces you like to wear. And now it’s time to put together outfits that suit your plans and bring you joy. For a little inspiration, I’ve put together 7 everyday summer outfits for the stylish, mature woman.

Let’s get inspired!

A Day at the Shore

Whether you’re slipping away to the coast for a little vacation or you’re just dreaming of ocean waves and sand between your toes, you’ll look and feel fresh and beautiful in these soft hues of coastal blue and sea foam green.

Coastal Vibes in Blue and Sea Foam Green
blue pants // white shorts // tank top // gauze shirt // sandals // handbag // necklace // earrings // bracelet // bangle // body wash // deodorants

These summer classics from Eileen Fisher are in cotton, linen and cotton gauze, perfect for walking the beach and gathering shells. You can use code KAY15 at Salt & Stone to try our their natural ingredient body care products, which I included in the graphic above.

A Day at the Museum

When the days heat up I head for a museum. It’s so nice to stroll through the exhibits and savor the artwork. Then I might pick up a few birthday gifts for friends and family in the gift shop and head to the tea room for a salad and tea.

Day at the Museum
dress // bandana // sneakers // shoulder bag // perfume // gold beaded bracelets // colored beaded bracelets // sunglasses // earrings

I like a simple dress and sneakers for a day at the museum. But I can add a pretty bandana for a little interest and wear some fun, seasonal jewelry, too. That scent is my personal favorite; it’s light and fresh and always elicits compliments.

Entertaining on the Lanai

Does anything say summer like eating outdoors? I created a comfortable and casual but oh so beautiful outfit for entertaining on the lanai. You’ll look just as happy as you are to have people in your home when you put on in this Paradise Green embroidered linen dress. Add dainty necklaces, a trending gold bangle bracelet and gold sandals for the full effect.

Entertaining on the Lanai
linen dress (in other colors and patterns, too) // sandals // beaded necklace // mini paperclip necklace // pendant necklace // bangle // earrings // Salt & Stone set (use code KAY15 for 15% off)

The key to dressing for entertaining in your home is to wear something that feels appropriate for home, but also marks you as the hostess. I think these flat gold sandals and this forgiving dress are perfect for your summer entertaining.

Window Shopping & Lunch

For a day of window shopping and lunch out I like a simple cotton skirt and top. Take your pick. You could wear a blanket stitch trimmed tank or a linen tee. Take along this relaxed pullover sweater in case the restaurant is chilly.

Window Shopping & Lunch
skirt // tank // tee // sweater // sandals // tote // necklace // earrings // bracelet // sunglasses // sunscreen (buy one get one FREE with code FREESUNSCREEN for a limited time)

Add sandals and carry along a market tote to carry your goodies. You know this isn’t just window shopping! Don’t forget to apply sunscreen before launching out. Right now you can buy one of my favorite sunscreens and get another one FREE. That’s pretty amazing. I love the Dr. Brandt Liquid Sun Shield SPF 50 because it goes on beautifully, is a 100% mineral sunscreen and works nicely under my makeup.

Easy Day at Home

Don’t forget to take time for the occasional easy day at home this summer. Sit down with that book you’ve been wanting to read, turn on some nice music and enjoy the hum of the oscillating fan. Later you can build the best ever BLT or whip up a veggie packed pasta salad.

Day at Home
skirt // shirt // sweater // flip flops // Mitford book // murder mystery book // earrings // necklaces // bracelet

But you’ll enjoy that day at home more if you still get dressed for it. I love Frank & Eileen for cozy, comfortable clothes that still look chic and fresh. They got new arrivals in recently and I’m anticipating the arrival of this shirt and this one, too. (You know I just can’t resist those Liberty of London fabrics!) I used code LEMONADE for 15 % off and you can, too! (one time use for a limited time)

Sunday Morning Church & Brunch

We attend a very casual house church, but that doesn’t keep me from dressing up a little most Sundays. Especially during the summer, I can’t resist the opportunity to wear a pretty dress and sandals. And after church it’s always fun to show up at brunch in this colorful ensemble, too.

Sunday Morning Church & Brunch
dress // cardigan // sandals // bag // necklace // earrings // bangle

I added a cardigan here in case it gets cool in the church or the restaurant. I’ve ordered the bag above and can’t wait for it to arrive. It looks like that color is sold out, but they also have it in white and navy, I believe. So chic! And I expect it to pair nicely with my Margaux sandals shown above.

Paint & Sip Party with Friends

Finally I created an outfit idea for a paint & sip party with friends. Have you ever been to one? I’ve been to several and they are so much fun. It’s a good time to wear something comfortable but also a little festive.

Paint & Sip Party with Friends
pants // floral textured shirt // sandals // bag // necklace // gold bracelets (sold separately) // pearl bracelet // earrings

I personally don’t feel that wearing white pants to a sip and paint party will be a problem. But if you’re worried about it, those pants do come in other colors, too. They look so comfortable and cool. I have that floral textured shirt coming my way, and I’m excited to get it in. And I think this is my first time to link to this jewelry brand. Are you familiar with it? I’m definitely ordering a few pieces today!

I hope you enjoyed this little bit of style inspiration. I believe we can put together stylish everyday summer outfits that help us enjoy the season just a little bit more. Let me know if you liked this post and I can share additional ones in the future. Share with me your ideas for style boards in the comments.

Blessed for My Day

The seasons we experience with the passing of each year are truly a miracle to me. I love that we have a Creator God who wisely integrated constant change into the fabric of our lives. Not only do the seasons provide time for nature to spring forth, bear fruit, fade and rest, but they also keep us energized and forever looking forward with anticipation. Which season is your favorite? I think I love spring the best, but each of them have so many special gifts for us.

I find that a woman’s life has seasons, too. Don’t you? We go through seasons of joy and those of grief. We build and produce and grow and multiply in some seasons and then we rest and nurture and reflect in others. Some seasons seem emotionally taxing while others physically take a toll. And relationships come and go, thrive and dwindle, give and take with each season. Think about the season you are in right now. Are you fighting against it or thriving in it, even if that looks different than you expected? Ask the Lord to give you wisdom and grace to walk through this season with joy and His perspective so that no matter what the days hold you can bring Him glory and feel His goodness.

You have established all the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter. ~ Psalm 74:17

  1. Such cute outfits! Like this post showing outfit ideas to wear to different events. Thanks for the style inspiration.

  2. Thanks Kay! My favorite post so far this spring/summer season! Not only great outfit ideas, but you also gave me some great “ things to do this summer “ ideas that really sound like fun ( and resonated with me!). Can’t wait to try both! The outfits ideas and the activities!

  3. Kay,
I loved this post! Beautiful choices and so well put together.
    All different price points, too.

PS…also love the Psalms, scripture and all things biblical to start my day.

    Warmly and blessings to you.

  4. I love BFMD…. So good. I’m in a different season right now and trying to settle in and relax in it. Looking for what the Lord has for me.
I loved the style boards. Really great outfit ideas and you put the boards together so pretty. I’d love to see more.

  5. All the suggested items are so pretty! I could almost feel the cool ocean breeze with that first set of clothes for the beach! My favorite season is summer because everything is so easy – you don’t need to wear tons of clothing to go outside, the flowers are blooming, there is fresh fruit and vegetables and the days are long and sunny. I am personally in an unwelcome season of life but trying to stay busy and understand that evidently this is where and how God wants me to be.

  6. I clicked on one of the sandals to be able to see them, but it took me to apps…weird! They were the gold ones in the collection with the orange skirt. I would like to know the brand.
