After enjoying a couple of weeks of “False Fall,” I think much of the country has returned to warmer {hotter?} temperatures. Ahh well, we knew it wouldn’t last, right? So it may be too toasty for a fall sweater today, but those crisp, cool days are not too far off. And I’ve discovered my new favorite source for beautiful, high-quality sweaters at affordable prices is none other than Tuckernuck. I’ve got three fall sweaters from Tuckernuck to show you today, but I have also rounded up additional fall favorites from this classic American brand.

I love to layer on the style during the fall, especially as the season transitions. But once those cool days set in on a more regular basis, I begin to shift to that favorite fall outfit formula of jeans + sweater + booties. I’m sharing that singular outfit formula with three fall sweaters from Tuckernuck.
Trending Merlot Fall Sweater
This merlot pullover sweater from Tuckernuck pairs easily with high waisted jeans or trousers for an effortless fall outfit. You won’t go wrong adding a sweater in a beautiful color to your fall wardrobe. Whether you opt for a trending color or one that you particularly enjoy, it will brighten up your wardrobe and give life to the simplest outfit formula.

The sweater is a chunky, warm option for a cool autumn or winter day. It’s slightly cropped, but fits beautifully over the waistband of my Mother wide leg jeans.

The gently puffed sleeves, ribbed trim and floral embroidery give this classic pullover a feminine vibe without looking prissy or overstated.

Throughout the blog post, I’m wearing the Mother the Hustler Roller Sneak jeans in the black wash, Not Today Satan. You gotta love that name! And I also love the fit of these jeans. In fact, this jean is one of those that seems to fit everyone who tries them on. They’re constructed in 78% Cotton, 16% Modal, 4% Polyester, 2% Elastane for ample stretch that keeps its shape with wear. They have such a flattering silhouette. And YES, they’re also available in a petite Lil Hustler Roller Sneak. Yay! I size up from my usual 30 to a 31 in these.

I did cut about 1.5″ off these 32″ inseam jeans so that they hit right on the top of my heeled shoe, which is the modern length for full length jeans and pants. If you prefer yours a little longer so that you have a single break under the knee, that is perfectly acceptable, too.
Classic Neutral Cashmere Sweater
Make sure you also have a great sweater in a classic neutral that will pair beautifully with your favorite jeans and trousers for understated elegance.

I’m wearing a classic cashmere v-neck sweater in the color Sandstone. It’s what I would call an oatmeal shade, but it also comes in navy, black and grey, as well as soft pink. The sweater fits true to size; I’m wearing a medium.

Give the sweater a gentle front tuck if you’d like. But I know some of my readers prefer not to tuck, so I left this one out. I like that it’s not too long, so I still get great proportions with these full length jeans and booties.

You can use my code KAYBOOTS to get $50 off your first pair of Ally boots. I also have other coupon codes for Ally and additional retailers, and they’re always accessible through the PROMO CODES link in the top menu.

Fun Pullover Sweater for Fall
Finally, make sure you have a fun pullover sweater for fall, one that makes you happy and brings a little joy wherever you go. We can start looking a little dated if we always look like we’re taking ourselves too seriously. Having fun with fashion brings a youthful vibe to your appearance, and an easy way to do that is with a cheerful sweater in a bold print, color or style.

Unfortunately my Woodbine cashmere crewneck boyfriend sweater is selling out in some sizes. But this slightly oversized sweater does come in other pretty colors, including a soft blue.

I gave this fuller silhouette sweater a gentle front tuck to provide more definition. I would have added a belt if I’d remembered to bring it on the photo shoot. Oops! But when you front tuck and then let the sweater drape a little, you can get by without wearing one.

What types of sweaters will you be adding to your fall wardrobe? I encourage you to check out the selection at Tuckernuck, along with their other elevated classic styles for the season. This American brand has become one of my favorite sources for high quality styles at reasonable prices. That’s not to say they’re inexpensive, mind you. But they are good quality garments you can add to your wardrobe with confidence that you’ll wear them over and over and for years to come.

I’ve collected more of my favorites from Tuckernuck in the shopping widget below. This is NOT sponsored post, by the way. When I highlight a brand like I have today I sometimes feel it’s necessary to clarify that. But you can always trust that I’ll let you know when a post is sponsored. And even then my opinions are always genuine and personal.

Blessed for My Day
There are some things that, once started, you just can’t stop. Know what I mean? Maybe for you it’s eating potato chips or scrolling through social media or binging a show on Netflix. Ha! While those are bothersome habits that don’t benefit us, for sure, they’re not as dangerous or harmful as other traps. Yesterday in my mom’s Sunday School class the lesson was taken from Numbers 11:1-17, which is a clear picture of the harmful effects of complaining. Indeed, I’ve found that one complaint often breeds another and another. Especially if we’re complaining out loud in the company of others. Before long we’re all in a feeding frenzy of grievances and grumbles.
As the teacher of our lesson pointed out, listening to other people complain can also be dangerous. Before long we begin to question our own contentment. And soon we’re joining in the chorus of complaints and criticisms. Have you found yourself on either end of that chain reaction lately? The solution could be as simple as flipping those complaints and turning them into acknowledgements of gratitude and praise instead. Let’s start a new chain reaction today by sharing with others our thankfulness and our contentment. It will definitely take more discipline and thoughtfulness. But my bet is that once you start, you won’t be able to stop!
Now the rabble that was among them had a strong craving. And the people of Israel also wept again and said, “Oh that we had meat to eat!…Moses heard the people weeping throughout their clans, everyone at the door of his tent. And the anger of the Lord blazed hotly, and Moses was displeased. Moses said to the Lord, “Why have you dealt ill with your servant? And why have I not found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me? ~ Numbers 11:4,10-11

Since I live in a warm climate, sweaters are typically a winter choice for me. But this year, I did add some variety. A couple button down cardigans for winter, and then for fall when the weather cools, a couple short sleeve and cap sleeve pullovers. I like the looks you featured, with wide leg trouser style jeans. That could be a great style for me on weekends. Of course I’ll wear them to work with trousers and skirts, also. 🙂
What size r u wearing in the merlot sweater? It really helps me when u give the size for each item u have on. Tu. margaret
Yes, I’m wearing a medium.
Beautiful post. Love the items you highlighted.
I have to tell you that I thought about you, Kay, this past Saturday morning when I was watching CBS Saturday Morning. They did an interesting segment on the Veronica Beard label with interviews of the founders, the inspiration behind their clothing, and some personal information about their families. I know how much you love their blazers!!!
Thank you for being such a positive force in the lives of women.
oh Kay! Your Blessed for My Day was so timely for me!!! I’m going through a period of trying to be better about not being bitter about everything and not jumping on the bandwagon with my friends of doing nothing but complaining about everything and everyone! To the point where you get so wrapped up in it that you are now just picking anything out of the air to complain about!
I did share my thoughts with a close friend that I didn’t like the way I was heading, that I was doing nothing but complaining (most of it has been with her and jumping on her bandwagon- but I didn’t present it that way- I just presented it about myself). That was last week. Sadly she has since stopped talking to me. Wonder if she’ll ever reach out to me again.
We had the same lesson! The lesson really made me think . If you really stop and listen to your own words, we complain more than we think. I tried this today and I embarrassed to say I caught myself a number of times complaining! This definitely is work in progress!
