As I drove home from church yesterday I noticed that fall has finally arrived in Cincinnati. It’s a little later than usual this year, but the leaves are absolutely stunning. We’re enjoying fires in our fireplace, yummy soups in our Dutch oven and brisk walks in the cool air. I have high hopes that November is going to be a month of good things. Before we move any further into the month however, let’s run through a few of our favorite things for October, 2025. These are the top sellers at Dressed for My Day, along with the top three blog posts and the most popular YouTube video. And I’m also sharing just a few of my personal favorites this month.

Let’s begin with the top sellers for October. These are the items that readers and viewers have been snapping up this month as I’ve shared affiliate links in my content, whether here at the blog, on my YouTube channel or through Instagram and my newsletter. Let’s count down from number 12 to the hottest seller of all.
#12 – Blue Mist Cashmere Riley Cardigan

It’s so on trend this year to wear button-up cardigans as pullovers, and I’m here for it. This blue mist Riley cashmere cardigan is the perfect choice. It’s also available in other pretty colors and neutrals. It runs true to size for a fitted look. I’m wearing a medium. But if you’d like a more relaxed and looser fit, you might want to size up. This color is really gorgeous, and I shared how pretty it looks with brown in this YouTube video.
#11 – The Una Ballet Flat

The M.Gemi Una ballet flat has a cult following, and now I know why. This chic flat is ridiculously comfortable, like beyond all expectations. It has a soft suede-lined back, so it doesn’t leave you with blisters like so many ballet flats do. The elasticized criss-cross bands are comfortable, and the silhouette is so pretty on your foot. I love my light tan shade, but it comes in about a dozen other options, too. As I shared in this popular blog post, this flat is an investment you won’t regret.
#10 – Vince Oasis Sneaker

We actually have several shoes among your favorite things this month, and I don’t know which is my favorite. I do wear these Vince Oasis sneakers quite frequently. In fact, while I several pairs of fashion sneakers, I’d say these are the ones I wear most often. They are super soft inside, have a nice amount of cushion and look chic and minimal. You can see more about how I styled them recently for travel in this blog post.
#9 – Katelyn Nappa Loafers

To me the beauty of these Katelyn Nappa loafers is three-fold. First, they’re a classic horse bit loafer, which is so on trend. Second they’re very comfortable. And finally the deep Burgundy color works well with so many things. They fit true to size and you can see me wear them in this blog post.
#8 – Field Jacket

I had to nab this photo from an upcoming YouTube video because I don’t think I’ve even shown the J.Crew Factory field jacket yet. Ha! I must have mentioned it in my daily or weekly newsletter or maybe on Instagram. It’s definitely a great option in this trending style, especially if you live in a warmer climate. The jacket is unlined, but has all the bells and whistles, including a front zipper and snaps, functional pockets and a trending brown corduroy collar. The jacket fits true to size.
#7 – Sawyer Pull On Pants in Melange

I’m so glad to see these Sawyer pull on pants in Melange in the list. These soft, grey, lightweight pants are perfectly suitable for wearing at home, but I’d definitely also wear them to work, church, meetings, etc. They run true to size and are available in a full spectrum of sizes in petite, misses and tall. And the price is pretty amazing. See all the ways I styled them in this blog post.
#6 – Everyday Oversized Cotton Blend Pocket Shirt

In that same blog post I shared this economical but very nice everyday, oversized, cotton blend pocket shirt. I also featured it in my roundup of 8 of the Best White Button-Front Shirts for Women. It’s my most economical option, but I think it’s a great shirt. It runs true to size and is available in petites, too.
#5 – Classic Turtleneck in Barnet Stripe

I usually wait until winter to start wearing turtlenecks, but this classic turtleneck in Barnet stripe is lightweight and so pretty…who could wait? I love the combination of deep red and dark brown. It will be a great layering tank under sweaters and jackets. The turtleneck runs true to size and it’s also available in a camel and ivory stripe. You can see me style it in this video.
#4 – Trouser Leg Corduroy Pull On Pants

There’s always at least one of these items that I don’t own in the favorite things list. I don’t think I’ve ever even called out the trouser leg corduroy pull on pants from Talbots, but I did include them in My Talbots Favorites for November 2025. I think the full length straight leg looks so smart. I’ve never tried them on, so if you purchased them please let us know in the comments how they worked for you. They come in misses, petite and plus sizes. Right now you can buy one and get one 50% off at Talbots.
#3 – Quilted Barn Jacket

Here’s another Talbots favorite. I actually even took this lightweight quilted barn jacket with me on our vacation to the Adirondacks. This port wine color, but it does come in three other color combinations, too. It fits true to size for a generous fit. The jacket is available in misses, petite, plus and plus petite fits, and it’s buy one get one 50% off today. You can see how I styled it in this video and in this blog post.
#2 – Cooling Button Front Shirt

And here’s our top sell button front white shirt. I first shared the cooling button front shirt from Lands’ End in 8 of the Best White Button Front Shirts for Women. And then I styled it in Button Front Shirt Ideas for Fall. It’s a great shirt for a really sweet price. It’s available in regular and plus sizes and comes in some stripe options, too.
#1 – Sheer Dot Ankle Socks

What a delightful surprise! Our top seller this month is the trending sheer dot ankle socks. I’m a firm believer in styling your socks that are going to show like an accessory, not an undergarment. That means they need to add interest to your outfit. And this year one of the hottest accessory trends is to wear these sheer dot ankle socks with your loafers. I think this is a fun but relatively safe trend to hop on. It’s low cost, low risk and a sweet, easy way to look modern. Have you tried it? Check out the blog post The Trending Socks You Need for Fall.

#3 – 6 Fall Fashion Investments You Won’t Regret

I’m a big proponent of building a wardrobe that will last for years. I don’t like purchase regrets either. So I combined those two themes into this fall blog post about 6 Fall Fashion Investments You Won’t Regret. The number of page views and the comments told me that this was a popular topic with my readers. You can expect more similar posts.
#2 – What I Wore on My Fall Getaway to the Adirondacks

I never really know if people want to see what I wear on a vacation or getaway. Locations and itineraries can make each trip so unique. But evidently many of my readers enjoyed seeing What I Wore on My Fall Getaway to the Adirondacks. It was a fun trip. And I kept the post interesting by adding quite a few of James’ landscape photos to the mix.
#1 – A Peek Inside My Closet: Fall Wardrobe Organization Secrets for Women 50+

Well this is no surprise at all. I’ve heard it said that we all love to see and hearing about other women’s schedules and systems. At the root of that I think most of us wonder whether or not we’re doing things “right.” Hahaha! Indeed there are more than one right way to do most things. And I don’t claim to be an expert in closet organization. It was with a little fear and trepidation that I opened the door to my closet and invited you in. But the comments were kind and even helpful as so many women shared what also works for them in A Peek Inside My Closet: Fall Wardrobe Organization Secrets for Women 50+.
5 Fabulous Fall Fashion Color Combinations for Women Over 50
Color! Some will tell you we shouldn’t wear as much of it as we age. Others will say, “bring on all the more color!” I say wear what you enjoy, but do it smart. And have fun! Hopefully this trending video helped you to think about some new, fresh ways to combine colors for fall.
Kay’s Favorite Things
I have just a few favorites that I want to share with you briefly. I’ll share a few photos of favorite fall styles and outfits, but I also want to just call out a few things I’ve been using on the regular and loving.

I have been getting so many queries about and compliments on this lip pencil and this lip gloss. I wear the combo almost daily. I guess I’ll need to order more of that lip gloss! I wear the shade “FU$$Y” in the gloss and Rosewood in the pencil.
Frank & Eileen Mini Cotswalds Cardigan

Not only did I enjoy wearing my F&E mini Cotswolds cardigan on vacation, but I wear it almost daily at home. It’s the perfect cotton sweater to throw on in the morning over my pjs. But I also reach for it frequently in my office, since we keep our home pretty cool. Don’t worry. I wash it frequently. That’s one of the things I love about Frank & Eileen clothes. They stand up to wear and laundering so well. It runs true to size.
Frank & Eileen Scotland Getaway Set

It’s ridiculously pricey and was quite the splurge, but I thoroughly enjoyed wearing my F&E Scotland getaway set on vacation. I’m now looking for other opportunities to wear it. I’m pretty sure this will be my Thanksgiving Day outfit. And I may wear it for Christmas, as well. It’s super comfortable and looks so chic. The set runs true to size.
Michael Noemie Suede Boot

This may seem like a redundant photo, but I wanted to bring your attention to my Michael Kors Noemie suede bootie in Husk. I had been looking for a soft beige bootie, and I was so delighted when I found this one. The pointy toe was a must, but I also love the lower heel and the slight Western vibe. It fits true to size and I’m wearing it on repeat. Very comfortable! You can slip it on and off quite easily without a zipper, too.
Michael Kors Romee Small Suede Satchel

And when I found the booties, I also found a matching bag. Score! I’m carrying the Michael Kors Romee small suede satchel in Husk just as frequently. I don’t always wear both, mind you. But I love having that option. And this soft suede bag is just the right size. And it has ample compartments inside. The bag also comes in a dark chocolate and a pistachio green.
The Nori Hamper

It may seem odd to call out a laundry hamper in my favorites, but I smile every time I put something in this Nori hamper. We had had a wicker basket in this space for years, and it was looking ratty. In fact, to be honest, it had looked ratty from the time we purchased it. So I love how neat and tidy this hamper looks and feels.

Inside it has the prettiest lining and a little zipper compartment. The hamper is actually made so that you can move it easily from your room or bathroom to the laundry room. It has optional wheels and handles, of course. But mine stays put. Oh, and you can see how easy it was for me to put it together all by myself in this little video. It’s perfect for us, but it would also make a nice gift for a graduate or a new mom and dad.
Finally, I haven’t taken photos of them yet, but I’ve been enjoying a new set of Caraway cookware. My daughter has been encouraging us to use cleaner, non-toxic cookware, especially not Teflon. So I got rid of my Teflon pans as well as the Revere Ware we’d had since we got married (just because it was wearing out), and we got this beautiful cream 12-piece set of Caraway. It cooks beautifully and cleans up so fast and easy. Oh! And I just saw that Caraway is having early access to their Black Friday deal and it’s an amazing 41% off! Score!
Thanks so much for stopping in. I’d love to hear if you purchased any of the top sellers or my personal favorites. And let me know what you thought. While I love sharing what I really wear and love, I’m always mindful of you, dear reader, and I want to share things you love, too.

Blessed for My Day
Many, if not all, of us live in echo chambers. We surround ourselves with voices that agree with us. Honestly, it’s quite normal to do life with other people who share your values, beliefs and ways of doing things. Whether they be with our family members, friends, co-workers or people (like myself!) on social media, we gravitate to conversations where we can feel affirmed. Sure, we want to learn new things and hear other people’s ideas, but honestly we prefer that even new concepts and ideas line up with those we already hold dear.
That said, I think it is good to hear from “other camps” occasionally. Echo chambers can be dangerous. They can isolate us and leave us ill-informed. We can develop an “us against them” mindset and even become fearful of people who simply see things differently than we do. So it’s a good idea to create a little bit of balance by listening to other ideas, reading other books and even going to new places.
But can’t that be dangerous? Hmm, it could be. But truly, both when we’re in our favorite echo chamber and when we step into places where different ideas are being expressed, we need to hold every idea and concept up to the litmus test of God’s Word. It is so important that we take every single idea we hear or read to the Bible. God’s Word is the ultimate authority. If we’ll give more weight to it than any other voice we hear, we’ll be able to navigate the cultural landscape with wisdom and grace.
Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path. ~ Psalm 119:105
I have the Caraway set in light grey and my daughter also, years ago encouraged me to get rid of my old cookware. I too had some Revere wear.
Cool! I love that. Thanks for sharing.
