A Few of Your Favorite Things
When you shop through my links I do potentially earn a small commission. That’s how I pay the bills here at Dressed for My Day and at home. As much as I love hanging with you ladies and enjoy getting to serve you, at the end of the day, this indeed is a business. It’s a fulltime + job for me, and my husband and two assistants also put in a lot of hours here each week. So I am beyond grateful for your support, as you shop my links, read my posts and watch my videos. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Leather Perforated Belt

This leather perforated belt has been a favorite find of mine this spring, too. I like the fact that, while it does run true to size, if I wear it with a dress or slimmer fit waistband I can simply loop the excess belt in on itself, like I did above. So it truly works with everything in my wardrobe, no matter where the waistband sits on my body.
Classic Linen Straight Ankle Pants

These branch brown classic linen ankle pants are a fun find for spring and summer because you can easily dress them up or down. So they’re very versatile. I find them to run true to size for a very comfortable fit. While I love wearing them with many things in my closet, I highly recommend completing the set with this branch linen blazer.
Cashmere Travel Slippers

I always travel with bedroom slippers. I like to wear them while I prepare for bed and get dressed for my day. But I also slip them on when I’m lounging in the hotel or house where I’m staying. These lightweight, beautiful cashmere travel slippers went with me to England, and I’ll be traveling with them for years to come.
Linen Straight Ankle Pants

While I enjoy wearing linen pants with a drawstring or elasticized waistband, it’s always nice to have a pair of more polished linen pants in the closet, too. These linen straight ankle pants are lined, but they never feel hot or bothersome. They’re perfect for church and other nicer occasions. They fit true to size. I’m wearing a 10 misses.
Linen Raw-Edge Jacket

This year we’ve seen the denim jacket take a back seat while the lightweight linen jackets have moved into the driver’s seat. This raw-edged linen blend jacket from Tommy Bahama is a good one for the season because it’s lightweight and easy-breezy. This jacket also comes in several nice colors, including white, natural and black. It runs true to size.
Linen Stripe V-Neck Top

I’m still wearing the close-fitting ribbed tanks this year. But I’m much preferring the looser fitting linen or linen blend tanks like this linen stripe V-neck top from Haven Well Within. It comes in a couple of other shades and a full range of sizes. I’m wearing my usual medium.
Thigh Society – The Cooling

You won’t catch me in a summer dress or skirt without these Thigh Society cooling slip shorts. They prevent thigh chafing, but they also feel cool and fresh. And you won’t have those pesky panty lines when you wear dresses or skirts that fit a little closer to the body. They run true to size.
Classic Linen single Button Blazer

I’ve included a white linen blazer in my wardrobe for more years than I can remember. And I like to purchase a fresh one every three or four years because I truly do wear them out. This classic linen single button blazer is lined and has a modern silhouette, so it will update your wardrobe and still look lovely for years. It fits true to size.
Slub Knit Blazer

But this slub knit blazer is another nice option for the casual wardrobe. It’s the perfect outfit completer when you need a little something but don’t want to add too much warmth. And this handy jacket comes in several nice colors, including a bright blue and basic black. It fits true to size.
Beaded Ring Necklace – Tiger’s Eye

Beaded necklaces like these are so on trend this spring and summer. You’ll find pricier options, but I think this one from BaubleBar is a sweet choice at the perfect price. You could even afford two at this price! I chose the tiger’s eye color because I think it’s a nice touch with so many outfits. But it also comes in four other shades of resin beads.
Half-Zip Polo Dress

Casual dresses like these are failproof go-tos in the summer. This half-zip polo dress is cool and breezy. And the side panels make it ultra slenderizing, too.
Rawlins 2.0 Sneakers

I surprised myself when I chose to take my Rawlins 2.0 sneakers with me to London. I’ve actually had these beige, navy and white trim sneakers for three years now. But as I ordered new shoes for my trip that were supposed to be great for walking and compared them to these old faithfuls, nothing else measured up. These Tretorns are surprisingly comfortable and nicely cushioned. I walked well over 10 miles in them several days in a row and my feet never complained at all. It looks like a LOT of you already purchased them, but if you’re still on the fence…jump down! These number one top sellers are well worth the amazingly low price. In fact, I just purchased another pair in the white/white!

What I Wore in England in May: Touring London & Walking in the Cotswolds

I feel like I’ve talked ad nauseum about my trip to England, lol! And I promise, I’m done! But I am thrilled to see that so many readers came back for my final post in these series, in which I shared how I really dressed for my days in England. I did share a few photos of the places we visited as well as brief notes about the trip, too. You can check out this third most popular here.
Carry-On Only: What I Packed for 10 Days in London and the Cotswolds in May

Fantastic! The second most popular post in May was also one of my England posts. I think many of us who travel are always fascinated to see what and how other people pack. And indeed, packing carry-on only is no small feat, especially for 10 days and such a varied itinerary. If you want to see HOW I got all of this into a carry-on suitcase and personal bag, check out this YouTube video. And get all this details in this second most popular blog post here.
Instead of Shorts? Wear These 11 Alternatives

There’s a reason I update this blog post and republish it every year. So many women are evidently googling to find the answer to this question. Not only is this post the most popular one in May (even though I just republished it on May 28th!), but it’s actually popular all year long. Check it out here.
Top YouTube Video of May 2026
It’s not even been a week since I published our most popular video of May, 2026. But evidently a lot of women – including myself – needed a little pep talk about wearing shorts this summer.
From the comments, it sounds like this video provided the encouragement a lot of women over 50 need, as well as practical tips and information that make wearing shorts feel a little more doable. If you haven’t seen this one, click through and watch it now.
Kay’s Favorite Things in May 2026
Let’s wrap up this long post with a brief look at a few of my personal favorites in May. Now these are items I’m personally wearing and loving, no holds barred! I’m going to share just two of my absolute favorite personal purchases and then I have a shopping widget with quite a few other items I’ve been loving in May.
Clayton Check Stretch Cotton Dickey Jacket

It was an investment purchase and I used a boatload of Nordy notes to do it, but this Clayton stretch cotton dickey jacket from Veronica Beard is definitely my favorite purchase of the month. I’m gifted a lot of beautiful clothes and fantastic beauty products in this job, but this is one I invested my own hard-earned dollars in…with no regrets. It’s cool and light, and the silhouette is truly lovely. I’ve been going back and forth about buying the matching pants, but so far I haven’t pulled the trigger.
The Feliz Mule

The second purchase I made that I’m extremely pleased with is the Pastoso signature mules at M.Gemi. I tell you what, I’m more and more impressed with this Italian brand. This shoe is beyond comfortable. And in true driving moccasin fashion, it has a natural rubber gommini sole that makes it slip proof. They come in several colors, but the light sand tumbled leather is perfect for my skin tone. You can use code KAY15 for 15% off at M.Gemi. You better believe I used that coupon code!
Here are quite a few other favorites I’ve enjoyed in May. Let me know if you have any questions about them or anything else I’ve shared today. Thank you so much for stopping in!

Blessed for My Day
It may seem counterintuitive to put boundaries in place when you’re trying to connect with another person. But instead of looking at boundaries as a way of keeping other people at a distance, view them as necessary parameters that help keep you healthy so that you can relate to others with more grace and real benefit. We don’t do anyone any favors when allow them to demand too much of us or we exercise too much control in their lives.
Do you need to “take a walk” around the boundaries in your relationships to inspect them? Make sure that you have time to regroup, space to take care of your own personal needs, freedom to make your own decisions and grace to make mistakes. Consider how you may need to repair the boundaries in your life so that you can in fact love the people in your life from a more healthy vantage point.
Moses’ father-in-law then said to him, “The thing that you are doing is not good. You will surely wear out, both yourself and these people who are with you, because the task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone. ~ Exodus 18:17-18
