Recently Chico’s offered to let me select a few pieces to share with you. Because I know so many of my readers love shopping Chico’s, I didn’t hesitate.

While I appreciate that Chico’s generally features a lot of vibrant color, I like to create outfits with one bold splash of color and then temper it with neutrals. I couldn’t resist these vibrant blue pearl high rise wide cropped jeans.

Chico’s sizes run generous, and I’d say these run true to their normal sizing. I’m wearing a 1.5 or 10 misses in the wide cropped jeans, but they are a little big on me. I really need the size 1 or misses 8. They do come in sizes 000 (0-XSmall) to 4 (20/22-XXLarge). And they’re available in petites sizes, too.

I’ve topped my jeans with Chico’s slub knit blazer in alabaster white. I LOVE this little cotton/modal blend blazer for summer. It’s lightweight and so comfortable, but looks a little more elevated and current than a cardigan. The white or black are perfect options to keep on your office chair, but they have many other nice colors, too. And with the savings you can get today (05/12/2025), they’re worth purchasing multiples. The slub knit blazer runs true to size; I’m wearing a 1 or medium very comfortably.

My Sioux flower t-Strap sandals in shiny gold are also from Chico’s. They fit nicely true to size and are quite comfortable. I wouldn’t walk all day in them, but they’re perfect for brunch out or date night. You’ll find other beautiful footwear options at Chico’s, too.

I’ve linked my entire outfit above and below. Some items are not from Chico’s. But you will find great tanks and pretty jewelry to complete your outfits at Chico’s.

I’ve gathered many more affordable finds from Chico’s in the shopping widget below. You’ll find so many ways to upgrade your summer outfits with these colorful, stylish pieces. And don’t forget, today only you get 25% off sitewide and 40% off one full-price item.

Blessed for My Day
Some women balk at being identified as a “good wife.” In fact, I can think of several television shows and movies that take a sarcastic approach in criticizing the role of wife. But when you think about it, choosing and aspiring to be an “excellent wife” is truly a noble goal. A wife can, indeed, make or break her husband in many ways.
If you have yoked yourself to another human in marriage, you have willingly chosen to do him good all the days of your life. You have pledged to honor him and support him. To help him achieve his goals and become the best version of himself. It’s a selfless and sometimes sacrificial role for sure. But is there really anything more noble than helping another person to be all that God created them to be? Yes, that goes both ways. But as a wife my part of the equation is the only one I’m responsible for. Let’s rise to the occasion and choose to be an excellent wife.
An excellent wife, who can find her?
For her worth is far above jewels. ~ Proverbs 31:10
Love the clothes in this post, especially the slub knit blazer!
Chico’s makes great jeans and pants. That blue pearl color looks fantastic on you! And yes, many tv shows and movies make a mockery of what marriage should be. But I never expect the world to agree with God’s way…
Your BFMD was well stated. Great job. I like Chicos too but I think of their clothes for tall slim women and I do not fit that look.
I love Chico’s for pants. They have a little give in the waist for that post menopausal woman without being baggy for those of us with small hips and slim legs. I love that they are now carrying blazers that match their pants. Thanks for showing that slub blazer. I purchased it in blue with a v-neck to match.
Kay, this outfit looks so lovely on you! I really like the elevated casual vibe of the blazer. And you’re so right, it is a nice option to a cardigan. After lots of looking, I recently purchased a navy blazer that doesn’t feel like what I used to wear to work. I know you have many posts where you have styled blazers but would you consider doing a post focused on various casual outfits with blazers? Also, could you share more information about how to choose the right colour, style, and size of handbag to complete summer outfits? I would also like to share with you a story about my mother who has recently gone into long term care. She has some mobility issues but is still quite independent. However, at home she had lost interest in most daily tasks necessary to live alone, including dressing for her day. Since settling in at the nursing home she gives attention to choosing her outfits each day and enjoys selecting her “good” clothes to dress up for special events, like a recent Mother’s Day Tea. It does my heart good to see this change in her and I am enjoying purchasing new pieces for her. To me, she is a clear example that dressing for one’s day has a positive effect on one’s mood and outlook. Thank you for all you do – keep inspiring us to dress for our day.
Ahh, that’s precious, Jocelyn. Thanks so much for sharing that. I’m sorry she has had to go into long term care, but I know that is often necessary as life progresses. It sounds like she has adjusted beautifully and is thriving again. What a blessing.
Really like your bright blue jeans and blazer from Chico’s. Glad you had a nice Mother’s Day with your son and his wife.
Love the BFMD!
Your outfit looks so fresh and cool! Love the blue pants
I really like that slub knit blazer for summer! Much lighter-looking than even a lightweight summer blazer and fresher, newer than the cardigans we all have and are maybe tired of! And yes, trying to do well in all our roles shouldn’t mean we only try to do well for ourselves or in some roles – a supervisor or parent works for the best for their employees or children, why would we not want to do well by our spouse, too? In marriage, spouses make sacrifices for each other and for their children, if they have them. No shame in that. Sometimes marriage is characterized as getting what you want these days, and when it is no longer “working” for you, time to move on. Much attention is paid to making sure the scales are balanced, but over the long haul, it’s give and take depending on the situation.
