How I Really Dressed for My Day This Week

Happy Friday! It’s been a full and busy week. We shopped for a new car, I interviewed prospective assistants and we recorded two YouTube videos, along with all the other little things we normally do in a week. The weather has been a little up and down, but I can’t complain. And I managed to get dressed for my day each and every day, feeling pulled together and a little stylish. Let me show you what I wore.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

I like to focus on why I wore what I wore and how I put my looks together in these weekly posts. So I may not call out each item shown. You’ll find links to anything that is available in the captions under the photos. I’ll also share fit information there IF the garment doesn’t fit true to size (TTS). I try to be transparent about gifting; gifted items are indicated with a C/O beside them, meaning they were given to me “courtesy of” that brand. Finally, I’m 5’8″ and about 160 pounds, so I normally wear a misses 10. I have even proportions and an hourglass shape.

Thursday

We’re starting with last Thursday because I didn’t post this {almost} weekly daily outfit roundup last Friday, but I did take this photo. And this coordinating duo has become a fast favorite, so I didn’t want to leave it out. You know, matching sets are trending even higher than they did last year, if that’s possible. And I’m here for it!

These grenadine Eileen Fisher separates are 93% organic cotton and 7% Spandex for a luxuriously soft hand and lovely drape. I did size down to a small in both. I have to resist the urge to put this outfit on every day!

Friday

Friday I went out to do a little “blog research,” aka shopping. Although I don’t think I came home with much, so it really was research. Anyhow, I took advantage of a beautiful day and wore my white Paige Anessa ankle jeans with a red linen shirt. I’m loving all the bright reds we’re seeing.

Because I knew I’d be trying things on, I kept this outfit simple and completed it with comfortable loafers. I think this was the first day I carried my new straw tote, too. It has been working really well for me.

Saturday

I had carved out Saturday to catch up on housework and begin packing for my trip to the UK. So I dressed comfortably in a new pique half zip polo dress. I think this design is so flattering.

The dress fits comfortably true to size; I’m wearing a medium. Of course, I wore my Thigh Society cooling shorts underneath. And I completed the outfit with my Tretorn sneakers.

Sunday

Sunday morning we carried brunch to church, so that always makes for a busy morning. After church we stopped at a favorite spot to take photos and videos for this week’s content.

So you may have already seen this outfit in this blog post. I had gotten in this beautiful Lizzie Fortunato necklace the day before and I was excited to style an outfit with it. It pairs nicely with the Lizzie Fortunato earrings I already owned.

Monday

Monday morning we had appointments to test drive a few cars. We haven’t purchased a new car in over 14 years, so I guess we’re due. I dressed for comfort, but since we were also going out to lunch, I wanted to look a little special, too.

I actually wore my sneakers with the outfit that morning, but I changed into these loafers to work that afternoon.

Tuesday

As you can see, I wore a lot of white jeans this week. Ha! Some of the outfits were part of blog posts, so I wore them strategically. But honestly, I just really enjoy wearing them this time of year, too. Tuesday morning I had an early nail appointment, so I needed to wear flip flops. But it was rainy, so I also wore my red raincoat. I’m sure this combination looked a little odd, but I was just going in and out of the nail salon.

These squared toe flip flops look a little more special than the usual almond shaped ones, so I think they’re a smart choice for vacations. They’re also very comfortable. You may notice I also decided to try out my Sak crossbody this week before my England trip. I wanted to see how I would want to “load it.” I’m pleased to report that it’s working very nicely for me.

Wednesday

Wednesday we shot part of next week’s YouTube video, so I was in and out of outfits. But I ended up in this silk blouse and linen pants duo.

top c/o // pants // belt // sandals // earrings // beaded necklace // coin necklace

I love the combination of linen and silk and wear it often in the summer. I also really like wearing cognac accessories with blue and white. I think the rich cognac sandals and belt make the blue and white combination look richer and more interesting.

Thursday

Thursday we finished up the YouTube shoot and I presented the speaking part in this outfit. come to think of it, it’s another linen and silk combination. Ha!

top is old and no longer available // pants // sandals // belt // necklace c/o // earrings c/o

My silk blouse is from a couple of years ago, so this will be my third year to enjoy it. And I purchased the black linen trousers last year, too, but they are still available. Oh, and they’re discounted right now. They run true to size.

So that’s how I dressed for my day this week. Thank so much for stopping in. I hope you got a little style inspiration. Have a blessed and beautiful day and an enjoyable weekend!

Blessed for My Day

Press on, dear friend. That answer you haven’t yet received, it’s coming. That trial you’re enduring, it’s not forever. That prayer concern that’s weighing you down, there’s hope. Today is a page in the story; it’s not conclusion. While things may seem very hard, discouraging, never-ending or hopeless today, they are not. Please don’t be pulled down by the defeating lies of the enemy.

You have not been forgotten, ignored or pushed aside by God. He is still at work. He is still involved in your life. He is doing something beyond your imagination and He is trustworthy. So you have a choice. And I encourage you to rejoice in the hope that you do indeed have, to be patient as you endure this trial and to continue to pray, affirming the trust you have in God.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. ~ Romans 12:12
