It’s the weekend and I’m getting excited about my impending vacation. This time next week James and I will be wrapping up our time in beautiful Cannon Beach, Oregon. That’s the stretch of coastline that features massive Haystack Rock. That may not sound familiar to you, but I bet it looks familiar. It’s one of the most photographed beach features in the world. And that’s only a fraction of that area’s charm.

While I’m in Cannon Beach and then later Portland, I hope to share some of my experiences with you. So make sure you’re following me on Instagram and Facebook if you participate in those social media platforms. In fact, I’ll probably be posting mostly on Instagram. I’d love to share some of the beauty of that area with you as well as tell you about the places we stay and dine. I’ll also share hikes in some gorgeous trails, strolls through downtown and beach walks. And after I get home I’ll even be posting some photos from that area here.

But that’s next week, Kay. Let’s stay focused. What about today’s post?

Okay. I promise this is the last kimono for a while. I don’t know what’s gotten into me with these things. I actually own several that I’ve had for a long time that you haven’t even seen on this blog! But I will continue to hold them back for a while. Meanwhile, just focus on the beautiful colors in this outfit with me. How’s that? LOL!

Tropical Kimono and Peach Crop Pants

I really like this combination of peach, white and turquoise. But I think the splash of various other tropical colors is what really pulls the trio together.

I’m wearing Chico’s Sateen Slim Capris with a 21″ inseam, but I think I would like their Sateen Slim Crops with the 24″ inseam better. But I can tell you that these pants feel amazing on. They have a nice amount of stretch, but they don’t gap or balloon as you’re wearing them.

I’m wearing a .5, which is my normal size in Chico’s, and they fit nicely. These capris come in just the peach and a deep blue and a turquoise. But the 24″ crops are available in a dozen beautiful colors, and they seem to have a wide range of sizes in most shades.

I’m wearing Chicos’ microfiber contemporary tank in white. Of course that tank comes in 20 colors, but I thought the white was best for this ensemble. I own several of the microfiber contemporary tanks, and I do think they’re a good investment. And right now, they’re half price.

My necklace is from J.Jill, and I’ve really gotten a lot of wear from it this summer. Right now J.JIll is offering 30% off your entire purchase through July 15.

This tropical kimono is also from Chico’s. It comes in just small/medium or large/extra-large, and I’m wearing the smaller size. Unlike the other kimonos I’ve shown here, here and here, this one fits more like a roomy, lightweight jacket. I really like it, but it is a little pricey. It might be worth watching the website for a markdown, though.

There’s those gold gia toe-ring sandals again! I’m just loving them. As I’m writing this post, they’re still not marked down. But these Cece Braided Thong Sandals are. I think I may get a pair of these in the silver.

I think this outfit would be especially pretty for going to lunch with the gals, attending a baby shower, going to brunch with your hubby or attending a birthday party. It’s just fun, cool and chic, but also easy and casual. (I don’t know why I have that pensive look in the photo above. You should see some of the photos that don’t make the cut, though, seriously. I crack myself up! So feel free to laugh with me!)

Now I don’t mind telling you that I did not keep this outfit. In fact, I don’t keep a lot of what I show you. I couldn’t afford to do that. But I like being able to show you a variety of clothing choices. Why did I not keep this one? Hmm. Mainly the cost of the tropical kimono. And I didn’t think I’d wear the peach pants with much else, so they went back, too. But if that tropical kimono were on sale… who knows.

I hope you enjoyed the post, and maybe got some good ideas from it. It’s fun to play with color combinations like this turquoise and peach. You could actually choose any one color among the tropical shades in this kimono and go with it for the pants. For instance, I think the kimono and white tank would work well with the soft lime or Malibu punch crop pants from Chico’s. Maybe you even have colorful items in your closet with which you could create a whole new outfit just by playing up a new color in the mix.

If you enjoyed this post I’d love it if you shared it on Facebook or Pinterest. You can do that by using the buttons at the end of this post. That helps me out more than you know. Blessed for My Day

So many of our struggles begin in our minds. Sometimes my mind wants to dwell on what I don’t have rather than what I do have. When I begin to feel that I am lacking something, my sense of lacking soon turns into resentment, self-pity, jealousy and discontent. Today, may we know in our heart of hearts and in our minds that God has given us everything we need for life in the person of Jesus Christ. When discontentment begins to wiggle its way into our minds, may we cling to the Truth instead. May we feast on the bread of life and find that we are full and satisfied in every way.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. ~ John 6:35

Spread the love
