Can you believe today is the final day of September? I’m certainly ready for some cooler weather, but I know better than to wish my days away. Still, onward we march to October! Before we get there though, let’s run through a few of our favorite things for September, 2025. These are the top sellers at Dressed for My Day, along with the top three blog posts and the most popular YouTube video. And I’m also sharing just a few of my personal favorites this month.

Let’s begin with the top sellers for September. These are the items that readers and viewers have been snapping up this month as I’ve shared affiliate links in my content, whether here at the blog, on my YouTube channel or through Instagram and my newsletter. I always have my assistant Lucy run these analytics and set up this blog post. So as I’m writing it I’m discovering these best sellers along with you. Fun! Let’s count down from number 10 to the hottest seller of all.
#10 Oasis Sneaker

I frequently get asked about my Vince sneakers. LOVE them! Not only are they sporty and on trend, but they are super comfortable. They fit true to size and come in a couple of other colors at Nordstrom, too. But they have them here in still more color combinations.
#9 The Relaxed Tee in Vintage Jersey

Fun! I love to see that this brown relaxed tee is on the list. The 100% cotton tee is super soft and has that “favorite tee” gently worn look. It’s a nice length, too, that you don’t have to tuck for those optimal proportions. I did size up to a large for a roomier fit. The tee is still available in this roasted chicory as well as faded olive, white and black charcoal, but sizes are starting to disappear.
#8 Layered pointelle sweater-tee in merino wool

Here’s another personal favorite of mine. This 100% merino wool pointelle layering sweater (feels more like a tee) is perfect for wearing under a jacket. But with the delicate pointelle pattern, it adds interest and holds its own, too. It has ample stretch so it runs true to size. I’m comfortably wearing a medium. It’s available in other colors and is 40% off right now with code SHOPFALL.
#7 Norah Contrast Detail Cotton Blend Cardigan

This Rails cotton blend cardigan was a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchase. It was probably about 30% off at the time. They’ve since restocked the popular sweater and marked it down again at least once over the past couple of months. Unfortunately it is full price again right now. But it is still available in most sizes. I love that the length is perfect for achieving ideal proportions and it can be worn buttoned up (so on trend!) or unbuttoned over another top. It runs true to size.
#6 Brushed cashmere short-sleeve cardigan in leopard print

Wow! You ladies are buying up some of my personal favorites! I wore this brushed cashmere leopard print cardigan several times when I was in Georgia. (It was warmer than I had expected, so this short sleeved sweater served me well.) It looks great under jackets or alone and runs true to size. They also have the sweater in several nice solids. I also have it in crimson rouge and wear it frequently with black.
#5 Berkeley shoulder bag in suede

Suede bags are so on trend right now. I use this blonde espresso Berkley shoulder bag frequently because it’s such a nice size and fits just where I like it under the arm when I carry it on my shoulder. It has a magnetic closure and one open interior pocket. It looks like they are restocking this color, but they do have other options in this style available.
#4 Denim Mac Coat

A trench or mac coat is such a smart option for fall and then again in spring. This denim mac is a smart investment, and evidently a lot of you made it! Unfortunately it is sold out in all but one petite size. But it does run true to size (for a roomy fit) and it’s 40% off, along with everything else at Talbots. Yep, they extended their Fall Kickoff Cyber Monday event one more day and you’ll also get FREE shipping today with no minimum purchase.
#3 Long-sleeve striped tee

Ahh, as often happens, one of our most popular items is one that I don’t even own. Maybe I need to rectify that! We included this long sleeve striped tee in the Pre-Fall Capsule Wardrobe and it has actually been on the top seller list for two months. Smart tees like this are super important to have on hand as you reach for those stylish jackets. The tee is no longer available in that color combination, but it is available in a couple of other versatile colors. Oh, and it’s less than $20!
#2 Straight Leg Pull-On Corduroy Pants

I’m so glad to see that readers liked these pull-on corduroy pants as much as I do. They’re such a comfortable pant, but also polished and on trend. They come in burnt orange and almond buff also, but all three colors are selling out fast. The pants run true to size, and remember, they’re 40% off today only.
#1 Katelyn Nappa Loafers

Ahh, I wore these just yesterday! These deep burgundy leather loafers look so smart and feel super comfortable to boot. I appreciate the streamlined silhouette, the softness of the leather and the horse bit detail (so on trend!). The shoes are also available in bright apple red and black, and they seem to have good availability. These are 40% off with FREE shipping just through Tuesday.
Popular Posts This Month at DFMD…
Each month I do look over my analytics to see what content is resonating with my blog readers and YouTube viewers. I aim to consistently supply my community of followers with content that resonates and benefits you in practical and inspirational ways. That can be quite challenging because this community is quite diverse in style preferences, seasons of life, price point preferences and style goals. #3 Complete Your Fall Outfits With These 5 Trending Jackets

Forget sweater weather! My favorite thing about fall is adding a stylish jacket to my outfit. Evidently many of you agree. If you haven’t already checked out these 5 trending jacket styles, head over to this popular blog post HERE.
#2 How I Really Dressed for My Day Post

I frequently have readers tell me that my How I Really Dressed for My Day posts are their favorites, but I’ve always assumed they are really just the vocal minority. Well! Evidently I was wrong. All of these blog posts did well this month, but many readers were especially curious to see what I wore in hot Georgia in early fall. Check out this recent post HERE.
#1 These Popular Jeans Will Make You Look Younger
Hahaha! It may be that the title of this blog post drove it’s popularity. But I hope the content delivered, too. I think it did.

The reason I say that “These Popular Jeans Will Make You Look Younger” is that, indeed, wearing modern denim is one of the easiest ways to look more current. And this blog post is all about the most current silhouettes of jeans and how to wear them.
While I was in Georgia, I gave my mom a couple of pairs of jeans that I had been gifted from J.Crew Factory (these wide leg cropped jeans and these 90s vintage baggy jeans) and they truly updated her look and made her look younger. I kid you not. Best of all, she LOVES them. (Both pair fit true to size and she said they are very comfortable.) Don’t miss this popular post HERE.
YouTube Video: The Most Wearable Fall Fashion Trends for Women Over 50
No surprise here! I’ve discovered that women love to learn about what’s trending. Whether you love ’em or hate ’em, we all want to be in the know about ’em! I know YouTubers who show trend videos almost weekly, but I try to only share the trends that I really think women over 50 will enjoy and find to be wearable. Check out this popular video HERE or watch it below.
Kay’s Favorite Things
I have just a few favorites that I want to share with you briefly. I struggled to think of fashions I’m really enjoying because I haven’t actually had the opportunity to wear most of the items I’ve been modeling for you. It’s just been too hot. So I decided to focus on a couple of items gifted to me recently as well as two fashion items that I’m wearing on repeat.
Empty Nest Blessed: 60 Days to Finding Joy in the Empty Nest
My friend Suzy Mighell from Empty Nest Blessed sent me an advance copy of her new book, Empty Nest Blessed: 60 Days to Finding Joy in the Empty Nest. I’m well into the empty nest stage and truly enjoy it (most days!), but I know so many of my readers are just beginning to navigate this season or are still anticipating (or dreading) it. And y’all! It can be a difficult adjustment.

Whether you need a little encouragement finding the joy in this season of life or you know of someone who is struggling with the empty nest, I highly recommend Suzy’s warm and insightful book. She covers topics like preparing for the empty nest, finding your personal identity, discovering your purpose in this season and parenting adult kids. Suzy’s 60-day devotional style book is available October 14th, but you can pre-order now, and those pre-orders would really help her out. Oh, and it’s also available on Kindle.
Emily Lex Woodland Watercolor Workbook

If you’ve been around long you know how much I enjoy my Emily Lex watercolor workbooks and paint set. Recently she introduced her new Woodland workbook and it is just darling. It includes a dozen beautiful woodland themed etchings that you can paint to your liking. Of course she provides her example, paint mixing suggestions and step by step directions for the best results. I think I’ve mentioned before that my daughter, daughter-in-law, aunt and even my son enjoy her workbooks, too. So these are great gifts for so many people on your list. I frequently give them as birthday gifts.
Brochu Walker The Pia Shirt

I don’t have many clothes in this favorites list because it’s been too warm to wear many fall styles. But I have been wearing this white Pia button up shirt and the Oxford stripe version on repeat. They’re super soft and cool on the skin and the fabric is just really luxurious. I love the pre-styled scrunched sleeves for this time of year, and I know I’ll wear them frequently in spring and summer, too. Just one of my favorite investments of the season for sure. I have my true size medium in the Oxford stripe shirt and it’s very comfortable, but sized up to a large in the white for a roomier fit.
M.Gemi the Una Ballet Flats

The other thing I’m wearing on repeat is my M.Gemi Una ballet flats. Now I know why these shoes have such a cult following. They’re super comfortable right out of the box. The leather is soft and supple, the crisscross straps are not binding, the silhouette is beautiful on your foot and the suede interior in the back keeps your feet from ever blistering with wear. Perfection! You can use my code KAY15 for a limited time to get 15% off at M.Gemi. I used their size guide for a perfect fit and the ballet flats come in a number of beautiful colors. Mine are light tan.

Blessed for My Day
Some people refuse to acknowledge God because they can’t understand Him. They question His ways, especially when they go contrary to their preferences. “How could a loving God allow children to suffer? Where was God when I needed Him? If God really cares about people, why do some people go to hell?” Some of these questions just require a little biblical research really. But others require a bending of the knee. At some point we have to reckon with the fact that we can’t get all the answers we may desire from God.
This frustrates some people. But to me, it just reminds me that God is incomprehensible. My finite mind cannot comprehend an infinite God. But why would I want to completely figure out my Creator? Indeed, like a young child who depends on her parents for provision, protection and guidance, I delight in the fact that my God knows more than I do…and that I cannot possibly ever put Him neatly into a box of my making. Let’s not get frustrated with the grandness and glory of our God; let’s delight in it!
“To whom will you liken me and make me equal,
and compare me, that we may be alike?” ~ Isaiah 46:5
What a lot of info! Thanks. What purses are you wearing with your una flats? Did you look at their purses? I love how they’re designed to be worn several ways. Thanks again
Great choices in your top 10 list! I love that leopard cashmere ss cardi, but it’s a little out of my budget. Will bookmark it in case of a sale. 🙂 I’d love to get those pull on corduroy pants, but they’re impractical for where I live.
