June 2, 2025

Hello June! I’m so ready for the warm days of summer. But before we move further into the next season, let’s take a look at a few of our favorite things from May 2025. These are the top sellers here at Dressed for My Day and my YouTube channel in May, along with a few of my personal favorites from the month.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

First let me explain where I get these analytics. These are the affiliate links that people clicked through the most here, on YouTube, in my LTK Shop, on Facebook and in Instagram, resulting in a purchase. I don’t really have any way of knowing if the shoppers actually purchased these items or if they bought something else as well or instead. But we’re talking significantly high enough numbers that I can assume with assurance that these were indeed popular items.

Your May 2025 Favorites

I don’t always share the same number of favorites. I look for a clean break in my analytics and try to share the items that are really trending, the ones that are so popular that I don’t want you to miss them. This month I’ve rounded up the top 14 items that women are buying like hotcakes! I’m starting with number 14 and working up to the top seller. And by the way, even though my assistant is still out on leave, I’ve gotten my act together today (praise the Lord for weekends!) and I’m sharing my own favorites at the bottom of the post. But rather than duplicate any of your favorites, I’ll give a hearty Amen! to items I also really love and would have included in my own list. Let’s go!

#14 – Linen Blend Pocket Shirt

This Linen Blend Pocket Shirt is a sweet find from Banana Republic Factory, a retailer I tend to forget about. Shame on me! They have some great styles at really sweet prices, so I’m trying to lean into them a little more these days.

In fact, the Linen Blend Pocket Shirt is such a sweet price that it’s selling out. But they do also have a similar sleeveless button up in a silky fabric that looks very promising to me.

#13 – European Linen Button-Front Dress

Amen! I’ve really enjoyed wearing my European Linen Button-Front Dress from Quince and I hope you have, too, if you purchased one. They come in several different colors and patterns. Mine is in the classic mini gingham.

I find this dress to run true to size for a very flattering fit. It’s comfortable and can be dressed up or down.

#12 – New Soleil Linen Pants

Amen! I love my black New Soleil Linen Pants so much I just ordered them in sweet meringue yellow. They very comfortable and casual, perfect for vacation or an average day at home.

On my 5’8″ frame these New Soleil Linen Pants are an ankle pant, hitting right at the ankle bone. But they may hit you differently depending on your height. They do come in petite and tall sizes, too.

#11 – Smooth & Shine Hair Serum

Amen! I’ve been using the Colleen Rothschild Smooth & Shine Hair Serum as a finishing product on my hair for over a year now. I get so many compliments on how shiny and “swingy” my hair is, and I attribute it all to this product. Not only does a very small pump of the Smooth & Shine Hair Serum give me shine and silkiness, but it also minimizes static and fights against humidity.

Of course that photo above is from about a year ago, too. Hahaha! But during a recent Buy More Save More event with CR a lot of you purchased this product. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I use all of the Colleen Rothschild hair care products and highly recommend them. You can try them out easy enough with this travel kit that really lasts you quite a while.

#10 – Linen Shift Dress

Amen! Let’s be honest, I can’t possibly keep in my closet all of the clothes I purchase or am gifted for my business. I donate many of them or give some to family members. But this sweet coral pink Linen Shift Dress is definitely in my closet for the summer.

The Linen Shift Dress comes in a pretty olive grove green now, too. And it’s available in petite and plus sizes. I find it to run true to size.

#9 – Gingham Flight Jacket

Amen! I definitely would have listed this lightweight Gingham Flight Jacket in my own list of favorites if I hadn’t seen it in yours first. I’m so glad that many of you have purchased one for yourself. I find it to be so versatile and fun.

Gingham Flight Jacket

Gingham is really trending this year, so I think we can enjoy wearing this Gingham Flight Jacket into the fall, too. But this summer I’m wearing it with black, white, yellow and more. It’s a beautifully made jacket and lined, too.

#8 – Everyday Linen Button-Front Shirt

I’ve been singing the praises of J.Jill’s Everyday Linen Button-Front Shirt for years. In March I shared the yellow one below along with a light lavender. And at this point hundreds of you have purchased one of those or another color.

Everyday Linen Button-Front Shirt // See the original blog post for sizing details, styling ideas and links to other items shown.

The Everyday Linen Button-Front Shirt runs a little large and is available in a wide range of sizes in regular, petite and plus fits.

#7 – Vibrant Paisley Button-Up Shirt

Here’s another fun shirt! The Vibrant Paisley Button-Up Shirt sports the trending colors and vibrancy of the season. It’s lightweight and super comfortable and cool. Perfect for a warm summer day.

Wear the Vibrant Paisley Button-Up Shirt buttoned up or open over a tank top. It works nicely with jeans, shorts or a skirt. And it would serve well as a swimsuit coverup, too. It runs true to size.

#6 – Wide Ankle Twill Pants

I started showing the Wide Ankle Twill Pants in March, and again, hundreds of my followers now have these in their closets. I own them in white, navy and cool beige, all great neutrals for mixing and matching with my spring and summer wardrobe.

And I suspect I’ll be wearing the cool beige and navy into the fall. They’re very versatile pants and fit true to size. They come in misses, petite, plus and plus petite sizes.

#5 – Washed Linen Shirt Jacket

I mainly purchased the white Washed Linen Shirt Jacket to show with outfits because the white washed linen bomber jacket that is in my closet is no longer available. I still prefer the bomber jacket, but this longer Washed Linen Shirt Jacket is a very nice option, too.

Since matching sets are so on trend for summer, I love the way this Washed Linen Shirt Jacket pairs with the stretch linen utility shorts. The Washed Linen Shirt Jacket is also available in navy, and it comes in misses, petite, plus and plus petite sizes.

#4 – Utility Jacket

Hahaha! Here’s another jacket I purchased to show followers since my linen bomber jacket is not available this year. So if you ever wonder if I keep any of my clothes from year to year, yes I do. But it makes it hard to share them the next season when they are not available. So I end up buying substitutes to share with you. Could I just recommend the substitutes without trying them? I guess so. But I don’t generally do that because I want to be able to assure you that the piece works and that the quality is worth the price.

Utility Jacket // See the original blog post for sizing details, styling ideas and links to other items shown.

Unlike my jacket, this Utility Jacket is not 100% linen. It’s actually a very nice 47% Tencel® lyocell, 30% linen, 22% cotton, 1% spandex blend. It’s lightweight, silky soft and great quality. In some ways I actually prefer it over my linen jacket because it’s a little more polished. It fits true to size for a gently oversized fit and comes in light tan and navy, too.

#3 – Relaxed Trouser Jeans

It’s fun to see so many women adapting to the wider leg jean silhouettes. I’m thoroughly enjoying them myself. These Relaxed Trouser Jeans are fun ones to wear, especially for the summer. The light wash and the lighter weight denim fabric make them perfect for warmer days.

Light Wash Jeans & Cheerful Print Shirt
Relaxed Trouser Jeans (C/O) // See the original blog post for sizing details, styling ideas and links to other items shown.

The Relaxed Trouser Jeans come in misses, petite, plus and plus petite sizes. Keep in mind that I’m 5’8″, so the 30 1/2″ inseam in the misses works just right for sandals or sneakers for me.

#2 – Wide Crop Patch Pocket Washed Linen Pants

Amen! I’m so glad that Talbots introduced a new slightly structured linen pant for the spring. The Wide Crop Patch Pocket Washed Linen Pants can be dressed up for the office or church, dressed down for a casual day out and about.

The color is a true flax and so pretty with white or black. They come in a wide range of sizes, of course.

#1 – Slub Knit Blazer

And here’s a big surprise! The Slub Knit Blazer from Chico’s is our number one top seller for the month of May. I don’t show as much Chico’s as I used to, but maybe I should fix that. What do you think?

Slub Knit Blazer (C/O) // See the original blog post for sizing details, styling ideas and links to other items shown.

Of course the Slub Knit Blazer is really a wardrobe basic that can be so versatile for many different personal style aesthetics. And it does come in other colors, too. It runs true to size. The lightweight Slub Knit Blazer is perfect for topping a tank and pants or shorts, but it would work nicely with a dress, too.

Kay’s Favorite Things

My assistant is still out on maternity leave (and I pray every day that she still plans to come back!) so I’m taking an easy route with Kay’s Favorite Things today. I’ll share a graphic with all of the items and then just do a quick call out.

T3 lightweight travel size hairdryer // Dean jelly flip flops (C/O) // Paul Green Hadley platform sneakers in mineral metallic // How to Solve Your Own Murder: a Novel by Kristen Perrin // No Makeup Makeup Foundation (C/O) and applicator brush (C/O) // Veronica Beard Clayton plaid dickey jacket // Hydrangea Liza Pajama Set (C/O) // Tory Burch T Monogram Shoulder Bag // Tumi Travel Toiletries Case

T3 lightweight travel size hairdryer // I used this small, lightweight hairdryer on our getaway to the mountains last week and really liked how it worked. The handle folds to accommodate packing. It’s got dual voltage, so with an adapter it should work nicely for overseas trips. And unlike so many hairdryers you get in hotel rooms, this one has three heat settings, two speed settings and a cold blast button that worked very well. I can now highly recommend this T3 lightweight travel size hairdryer.

Dean jelly flip flops (C/O) // Sam Edelman sent me these lightweight jelly flip flops to share with you, and I do so eagerly. They come in fun colors and fit true to size. That said, I wear a 9.5 and they only come in full sizes, so I sized up to a 10. But I have plenty of room. They offer absolutely no support or cushion but they are great for the beach, lake or just around the house. Perfect for vacation and so on trend.

Paul Green Hadley platform sneakers in mineral metallic // Whenever I’m shooting videos, I’m wearing these! Like most other Paul Green shoes, the comfort is unmatched. That alone makes them worth the price to me, but I absolutely love the soft gold hue of the mineral metallic. They come in other colors, too, and run true to size for a heavenly fit.

How to Solve Your Own Murder: a Novel by Kristen Perrin // I just finished this British who-done-it last week and would have loved to have started on How to Seal Your Own Fate: A Novel, book 2 in the Castle Knoll Files trilogy. I don’t read many mysteries, so what do I know. Ha! But I loved this one. It was light, fast-paced, delightfully British (think Midsomer Murders) and quite clean. As soon as I’m through the book I’d already purchased, I’ll definitely move along with this series.

No Makeup Makeup Foundation (C/O) and applicator brush (C/O) // I’m getting a lot of gifted items lately, and I usually have very low expectations. In fact, when No Makeup Makeup® wanted to send me these two items I almost turned them down. But I decided what’s the harm. Well, it’s a good thing I tried them because I’m SO impressed. I’m wearing the No Makeup Makeup Foundation right now in fact, and I cannot believe how beautifully it has held up to my day. It goes on so easy with the applicator brush, looks truly natural and warms my complexion beautifully. I wear the shade Light.

Veronica Beard Clayton plaid dickey jacket // I was drawn to the beautiful blue, yellow and taupe tones in this ruched sleeve blazer, but I expected to return it if it was too heavy or hot for the summer. Indeed, it is lightweight and perfectly suited for the warmer months. I also got this tank in Chamomile and these jeans, but they don’t arrive until tomorrow. The plaid dickey jacket fits beautifully true to size and is available in a few more sizes here.

Hydrangea Liza Pajama Set (C/O) // I’m pretty much a sleepwear snob. I don’t want to be hot at night, but I also require my pajamas to be pretty. And I tend to wear them late into the morning and change into them early in the evening. So they have to be good. This Hydrangea Liza Pajama Set is so lightweight, soft and extremely comfortable. They check all the boxes in spades!

Tory Burch T Monogram Shoulder Bag // I confess, I purchased this bag on a whim, but it turned out to be a smart investment. I love the framework of the bag. It’s the perfect size, opens easily enough but also feels safe and secure, and carries nicely. But I especially love the navy and cognac brown duo. Perfect for wearing with spring and summer navy, and I imagine I’ll carry it into the fall.

Tumi Travel Toiletries Case // I’d been traveling with just three clear TSA approved bags for my toiletries for a while and had tired of it. As I shared in this recent YouTube video, I still use one of the clear bags for my liquids if flying. But I’m so pleased to report that I have graduated to this elegant, high quality, functional Tumi Travel Toiletries Case. I used it on our recent getaway and loved being able to hang it up in the bathroom for easy access. And it works so nicely that you can actually zip off one of the compartments. This bag is perfection! And it’s marked down considerably in my Lagoon shade, as well as the Indigo and Mauve.

Whew! That’s a wrap! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much for stopping in today!

Blessed for My Day

We all have favorites. And it’s fun to share the things we enjoy the most. When I find a favorite book I want to read more from that author. When I have a great experience at a restaurant, I tend to order my favorite dish over and over because I know I’ll love it. And our favorite vacation spots are ones we look forward to visiting again some day.

But when it comes to people, we need to beware of having favorites. Over and over in the Bible we read of people favoring one person over others. And it always led to disaster. Favoritism or partiality, as the book of James calls it, hurts feelings, sows seeds of strife, breeds jealousy and poisons families. If you are prone to favor one person over others, ask the Lord to help you have a more balanced approach to your relationships. I’ve learned that if I make the Lord my one and only favorite, all other loves fall into their rightful place more easily.

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons, because he was the son of his old age; and he made him a varicolored tunic. ~ Genesis 37:3

  1. Always so interesting to see what others find appealing
Unfortunately I then wonder if I might be missing out on a goid wardrobe addition. Restraint……if I can!

  2. I ordered the slub knit blazer from Chico’s after debating for a few days. I wanted black because I also ordered the utility jacket in white. But sold out in that color I finally pulled the trigger and got the white one. Was such a good price. I order a piece here and there from Chico’s but not a lot. Maybe I should rethink ordering more from them also.
I enjoyed the BFMD. Made me stop and think.

    1. I have tried Laura Gellar, and I actually like this No Makeup Makeup better. I felt like the Laura Gellar was a little shiny, whereas this is not. But that’s just my limited experience.

  3. I have been busy and soo far behind on your videos. Hope to catch up on those this week. I am glad you and James had such nice getaway. Sounded so peaceful.
Please report back on the bras. I have seen them on social media but there is so many of them. Can’t wait to hear more about them. Hope you have a wonderful day!

  4. I just received the utility jacket in white from Nordstrom. I ordered a small instead of my usual medium after reading the reviews. I am glad I did. I am petite 5’3″ and fit just right. If you are taller like you Kay, I can see ordering the medium. Us shorties like me needed the small. I love the utility jacket.

  5. In general I love the aesthetic of blazers, and I love how so many women style them, but when I wear them, often I don’t feel quite “me”. They feel too “formal”. That slub blazer from Chico’s you featured has a more relaxed look though, not as structured. So I clicked through your link and checked it out. It does look softer and not as formal as a regular blazer (like your VB dickey ones). Figured the price was very reasonable, so I decided to give the seaport blue one a try. It might be too long on me, but if I like it and it’s easily altered, I’ll add it to my wardrobe. Placed the order just now! Here’s hoping! 🙂

  6. Looking at your Mimi picks reminded me of how much my kids LOVED their little tea pot! It either sang or made a glugging sound and had a little plate of pretty cakes. I can’t tell you how many of those cakes I “ate”. We still enjoy tea time at our (very American) house, but it’s probably because of the cookies now. 🙂 Thanks for the trip in the way-back-machine!

  7. What a great post Kay! Enjoyed seeing all the items and plan on checking out many of them!!!
In regard to Chico’s…I’m a Chico’s girl for many years and would love to see more of their items! While I understand their style aesthetic is not for everyone, I just buy when the items suit me…mostly solids or solid textured tops(sometimes prints) and classic pants or jeans.(bootcut and ankle jeans and Juliet ankle flares) Love their dresses too! I prefer a simple wardrobe of basics with a few “pops”! Just returned from Europe where I wore a pretty Chico’s top with the jeans I had been wearing the whole trip to the casual finale dinner. Couldn’t keep up with all the compliments I got on the blouse!
