I’m focusing a lot of our content right now on holiday outfit inspiration so that you and I can be ready to celebrate in style when Thanksgiving kicks off the season. In a couple of weeks we’ll turn more of our focus to holiday gift ideas, winter wardrobe essentials and styling tips for winter outfits. But today let’s check out two ways to shine this holiday season in beautiful, trending Jude Connally outfits.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
I’m a big believer in building a “special occasion wardrobe.” That way you can enjoy many of your most precious purchases for at least several years before passing them on. And if you’re lucky you may wear them for longer. The Jude Connally outfits I’m sharing today are perfect for Christmas gatherings and New Year’s Eve parties. But you could also wear them for weddings, date nights, girls’ nights out or even Valentine’s Day. Yes, they feature trending details, but they’re classic enough to enjoy on repeat.
Jude Connally Outfits with Velvet & Feathers
Rich fabrics and tasteful flourishes make garments special occasion ready. And this year we continue to see velvet and fun feathers center stage.

Many of the velvet pants, jackets and skirts available are more body hugging weaves. But Jude Connally has created stretch velvet garments that will make you look and feel like a million bucks.

And the feather details on the sleeves of this Essie jacket are fun and flirtatious, but also sophisticated. Combined with the pearlescent shine of three buttons down the front of the flowy jacket, this topper steals the show.

Add metallic shoes to complete your festive look. These are perhaps one of the best investments you can make in your special occasion wardrobe. You’ll never again wonder what to wear with your outfit, whether you’re attending a wedding, party, holiday gathering or concert. And these Ally slingback pumps are comfortable enough to keep you on your feet (and on the dance floor!) all night. Use code KAYHEELS for $40 off your first pair of heels at Ally.

When you have beautiful garments like these in your special occasion wardrobe you’ll be perfectly dressed for each celebration. And getting dressed for those special events becomes easy and fun again. Of course the beauty of this Jude Connally outfit is that it can be split up and worn in other ways, too.
Jude Connally Outfits with Splashes of Silver
Another trend we continue to see this year, especially in special occasion dressing, is bold splashes of silver. Metallic in general is so in style, but silver continues to show up in so many varieties this year.

This beautiful but conservative Delphine dress has subtle silver woven throughout. It’s the perfect option for church parties, choir concerts, seasonal weddings and semi formal dinners. It’s created in Jude Connally’s gilded Jude cloth, so it’s super comfortable and cool to the touch.

The dress features a same-fabric removable tie, but you could swap in a slender silver or black belt, too. I finished the dress by popping the collar and adding my favorite diamond-studded jewelry. Carry a classic, elegant clutch like this beautiful option from Tuckernuck.

I’ve created a shopping widget below with other beautiful Jude Connally outfits. These are comfortable, breathable garments you can wear on repeat through the holidays and beyond. They come in sizes from XS (0) to XXL (18) and I find them to run true to size. I am wearing a medium in all three garments.
Thanks so much for dropping in. Let me know in the comments what types of special occasions you’ll be dressing for this holiday season. They don’t have to be “fancy.” I want to help you put together festive outfits for your REAL holiday season. If you enjoyed today’s post and are looking for special occasion outfits for the upcoming season, you may also enjoy Merry & Bright: Avara Holiday Collection 2025 and Holiday Special Occasion Dresses from Tuckernuck.

Blessed for My Day
Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness.
Surely my soul remembers
And is bowed down within me. ~ Lamentation 3:19-20
What we focus on grows. Have you ever noticed that? If we dwell on our circumstances, our hurts and wounds, our uncertain future or our losses, they become larger than life. Soon we are overwhelmed by them. We feel weighed down, despondent, hopeless.
This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I have hope in Him.” ~ Lamentations 3:21-24
But we can shift our focus so that the weight of our circumstances no longer feels so heavy. How? By recalling the character and the ways of the Lord. It’s an act of self-discipline for sure. Our natural tendency is to focus on self. But if we choose and consistently turn our attention to the faithfulness, goodness, provision and compassion of the Lord, hope will grow and our spirits will improve. This does not always happen instantaneously. But with prayer, Bible reading and Scripture meditation the Lord truly can improve our disposition.

The Jude Connally dress is beautiful as usual, I have purchased items from QVC in the past, as in an air fryer, clothes steamer, etc. Good quality items. You had a blog last week, I believe and you had mentioned you didn’t buy and show clothes from Amazon. I meant to tell you I am glad for that. That you show better quality items that are stylish from Talbots, Jude Connally, and other high-end items that are nicer fashion, I don’t consider Amazon a fashion expert. I think some items would maybe all right, but I stopped watching an influencer a couple years ago that showed almost entirely Amazon clothes. I think their expertise is in other items Keep showing the lines you show. You are doing a great job even though sometimes the lines you show are above my budget. Nice BFMD.
Yes, I also am glad you don’t style clothes from Amazon. So many influencers do these days and I don’t buy my clothes from there.
Kay, I love so many of the outfits you present, but unfortunately most of the items do not come in petite sizing. I do have some special occasion pieces in my wardrobe, but sure could use some updates! Very difficult to find or if I do find they are beyond my budget. This holiday season I have luncheons, dinners, concerts and family gatherings on the calendar. So now is the right time for sure to start putting the outfits together! Hoping the sales will help.
Your blog yesterday and today have me thinking about the Holidays. Thanks for getting me out in front of this instead of the night before an event! BFMY always hits home. Thank you for this.
Thank you Kay for the BFMD. Really struggling right now.
I love the buttons on the velvet jacket!
I have a small wardrobe of special occasion garments. This time of year, I love to wear sequins and velvet. Like you, I enjoy metallic shoes. I have a pair of silver dress pumps, but really would love to have a pair of champagne/gold ones, as that is a better color for my skin tone (but harder to find!). 🙂
Loved both looks today.
I will be attending a broadway play and the Rockettes in NYC in early December with my daughter. We are both looking forward to having a great time together. I do need suggestions on what to wear from you, Kay, or your many blog readers who can guide me. I haven’t been to NYC since 1973. (I was in high school!!!)
Thank you
I miss the days when I was working and had invitations to a Christmas ball, hosted cocktail parties and formal dinner parties every year. Now I’m thrilled for the opportunity to dress for the high school Christmas play, the Nativity concert and our own Christmas cookies, cocoa and caroling party. I still need festive wear, but don’t want to overdo it when some attending the same events are in jeans. I’d love it if you could feature some suggestions for these events since I’m bored wearing my black slacks and a sweater all the time!
Love the fringed pant set
Looks amazing on you and so classy
What beautiful outfits! You wear them all so well Kay! I am looking for something to wear on Christmas Eve to a high end restaurant in Denver Colorado. I do get warm in restaurants since they have the heat going full blast but it is freezing outside. Any thoughts?
I am a grandma in my 70’s and really don’t need anything too fancy for the holidays – church, ladies lunches, school and family get-togethers. I host all the family dinners, so I spend a lot of time in the kitchen serving 17 people. My question is what to wear when I’m doing that and still look good.
I love the green velvet dress ess in the shopping widget. Like most people I have a mix of dressy occasions and more casual events. We attend a couple of dressy fundraisers every December. Our thanksgiving and Christmas are more casual but still somewhat dressed up. Could be pants and a shimmery shirt. There’s a women only cookie party where everyone dresses up. So really the typical variety. Things with fruit ends trend to be more casual than family. My family loves a dress up occasion. Thanks Kay for all your work and great ideas.
Lovely outfits Kay!
I’m 70, and this holiday season I have a festive children’s brunch with Santa at our country club with our kids and young grandkids, a festive luncheon with my women’s PEO group, an evening black tie dinner/dance, and several casual but still elevated family gatherings.
Whew, it seems like a lot to manage plus at 5’2” I’m petite and prefer to buy clothing that fit my proportions. I don’t mind hemming but petites involve sleeve length, bodice length, shoulders…so many proportions beyond simply length
For the Christmas Tree arrival at the White House today, Melania Trump wore a long cream colored wool coat with long red leather gloves and gorgeous red glen plaid heels. What a lovely and festive outfit for the season! She is truly a stylish First Lady!
