Do you shop Amazon? Honestly, I haven’t had a lot of luck shopping fashions on Amazon, although I know a lot of women who evidently have. However, as James and I scrolled through our Amazon orders for the past year, I discovered that we actually have shopped this e-commerce giant for a plethora of other things, from beauty to travel to fitness to car maintenance to diet supplements to household appliances…and so much more. So as we anticipate the 48-hour Amazon Prime Day 2022 this Tuesday, July 12, through Wednesday, July 13, I thought I’d share some of our favorite Amazon purchases.

This post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links.

Shop Amazon Prime Day with Me

Amazon Prime Day begins tomorrow, July 12, at 12 a.m., Pacific Daylight Savings Time. That means if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you’re privy to the year’s lowest prices on Amazon devices and products from other leading brands. And the “Day” continues through Wednesday, July 13, at 11:59 p.m., PDT. There are literally millions of deals, and many of them drop throughout this 48-hour “day.” (That’s right; Prime Day is actually two days. Go figure!) Whether you’re currently an Amazon Prime member or not, hang with me. I’m sharing ALL of my Amazon favorites in today’s post. And they’re always great deals…whether you have an Amazon Prime membership or not.

In fact, as I began writing this post on Sunday afternoon, I had no idea what all the offers will be in the Amazon Prime Day sale. And new bargains will continue to drop throughout the 48-hour day. So I’d simply like to share with you my all-the-time Amazon favorites, then share a few great bargains I’ve spotted early in the sale and direct you to the Amazon Prime Days lead page where you can scour the sale for the items you need or desire most. My favs may or may not be included in the sale, but these items are ones I own and frequently shop for through Amazon simply because I get the best buys on these things there.

Amazon Beauty Favorites

Of course one of the sweetest perks of having an Amazon Prime membership is the speedy, free shipping. So I frequently order my beauty products through Amazon so that I can get them quickly and conveniently without having to leave my home. Here are some of the beauty products I’ve ordered this past year from Amazon. A few I have on repeat orders; others have been a one time order.

Oh! And all of these are wins. I’m not sharing the few fails I’ve received and easily returned at my local Kohl’s. (Most Amazon purchases are very easy to return!)

The Bagsmart Toiletry Bag above is definitely one of my alltime favorite Amazon purchases. I can get all of my beauty products into that one bag for travel. It’s pretty amazing really. I also continue to get really good results from my Timeless Skin Care 10% Vitamin C serum. I use it each night just after cleansing my face.

Amazon Home Favorites

This category includes cleaning, cooking and other household items. I’ve purchased most of these, but I did include a few items (the vacuums, for instance) that I’m considering purchasing in this year’s Amazon Prime Day Sale. I have the Kitchenaid mixer in red, but isn’t that pistachio green amazing?

I use the Bona hardwood floor care kit for cleaning my hardwood floors (duh) and really love it. But I also vacuum the hardwood and the carpet with the Shark cordless stick vacuum above. I can get one floor of the house (basically five rooms) done with one charge, and that’s a pretty big area. And I’m thoroughly enjoying using the premium velvet skirt hangers, shirt hangers and suit hangers in my closet. I’m ordering another set or two of the Mellani bed sheets this week. It’s just time.

We gave Daniel and Stephanie the Le Creuset stoneware covered casserole dish for Christmas, and I hear they’re loving it. It’s a great Christmas gift to buy now, especially if there’s a significant price cut in the sale. And Abigail and Andrew love their Half Baked Harvest Cookbook. I think the newlyweds cook from it at least a few times a week and the photos they send look amazing.

Amazon Fashion Favorites

Like I said, I haven’t really had good luck with buying clothes through Amazon. If you have, that’s great. I’ve just given up. But I do find nice accessories and other fashion related items there. Here are some of my favorites.

Amazon Lifestyle Favorites

Here are some of mine and James’ purchases that didn’t really fit in one of my other categories. I’d say these are lifestyle purchases, so they range from allergy medications to hobbies. When James’ glass French press broke recently he opted to purchase this stainless steel French press in its place. He says it makes a hotter cup of coffee and stays hot longer, too. Plus he doesn’t have to worry about it shattering in his hand again.

James uses this gas burner outside to brown the meat he has cooked in his sous vide precision cooker. I do know that the Apple Airpods are in the Prime Day Sale again this year, and at the same price as last year. I got those last year along with this sweet case from Rifle Paper. James got the Apple Airpods Pro and I’ve been a little jealous occasionally. Mine do well, but his have some additional capabilities. Here’s a Rifle Paper case for those.

I read through the Life Principles Daily Bible last year. And this year I’m using the Jesus, Our Perfect Hope daily devotional guide for my quiet times. Now is a good time to buy either of those so you’ll have one or both on hand come January 1, 2023.

Amazon Automotive & Lawn Care

I asked James for links to the purchases he has made for lawn and car care, too. We’ve already saved so much money with this automobile systems scanner. And he and Daniel both enjoy their EGO yard tools, such as the weed eater and blower below.

Amazon Event Favorites

I almost didn’t share this final category, but then I thought, “Why not?” Maybe you’re planning a wedding or other event and would like to know about these few things we purchased for Abigail and Andrew’s wedding. They used this brass chalice to take communion during the ceremony and now they have it as a keepsake. It’s nice and heavy and feels and looks very substantial. Quite surprisingly nice. And then we purchased these little stainless steel decorative trays to hold the bread for the communion. Of course they really just needed one, but it came with two. And I needed a few more champagne flutes for the bridesmaids’ brunch, so I purchased these. They look better than the ones I already had, quite nice.

Shopping Prime Day

Of course anyone can shop Amazon, easy peasy. But Prime Day is exclusively for Prime members, so if you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can sign up for a 30-Day Free Trial and enjoy all of the Prime Day sales as well as all the other benefits. You may find that you enjoy all the benefits – they’re many! – and decide to keep the membership past the trial period. But even if you cancel the membership, at least you can shop the sale with full benefits right now.

What are the benefits of Prime membership?

  • Prime Membership cost $14.99 a month or $139 per year
  • you get free 2-day shipping on most purchases
  • rewards when you shop Amazon stores like Whole Foods
  • hundreds of streaming movies and TV shows on Prime Video
  • with Prime Wardrobe you can try on clothes in your home and pay only for what you keep
  • and additional benefit options for purchase, like Prime Video channels and Amazon music

Let me offer you just a few tips for shopping the Prime Day sale.

  • Think smart; think fast. Once you add an item to your cart, you only have 15 minutes to purchase before it will be taken out of your cart. So don’t be afraid to shop and purchase one item at a time.
  • Prioritize. There are big ticket items on sale now and throughout the 48 hours, and obviously that’s where you’ll get the biggest savings. So if you’re looking for a new television or other electronic, you might want to start there and work your way down to less expensive items.
  • Check in throughout the day. This sale is notorious for actually improving with time. New items will go on sale every hour throughout.

Here’s a quick link list to help you check out the latest bargains in different categories. After clicking through to the category of your choice, be sure to narrow your search by using the menu on the left of your screen (on a laptop or computer):

  • Amazon Devices – such Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick, Kindles and others
  • Electronics – such as televisions, cameras, printers, etc.
  • Computers – such as desktops, laptops, monitors, tablets, etc.
  • Sports & Outdoors – such as sports equipment, camping equipment, exercise equipment, hunting gear, boating and fishing gear, etc.
  • Tools & Home Improvement – such as hardware, hand and power tools, paint, lighting, etc.
  • Women’s Fashion – clothing, accessories, shoes, etc.
  • Beauty – toiletries, makeup, beauty appliances, fragrances, etc.
  • Kitchen – appliances, cookware, dinnerware, etc.
  • Lawn & Garden – seeds, lawn equipment, lawn furniture, garden supplies, etc.
  • Cell Phones & Accessories – phones, chargers, gimbles, tripods, etc.

I’d list specific deals, but they’re flying and they’re constantly changing. But you can count on some significant deals.

Whether you’re shopping the Prime Day deals or not, I hope I’ve provided something useful for you today. I hope you have a lovely Monday.

By the way, I’d love for you to follow me on Instagram if you don’t already. I’m really trying to offer more value for my readers and followers there these days. And if you’d like for me to follow you, too, just direct message me there. And I absolutely will!

Blessed for My Day

In James’ sermon yesterday he reminded us that church fellowship is not just a potluck dinner or good coffee on Sunday mornings between the services. Church fellowship is not an event or activity at all. It’s a lifestyle and a decision. When we live in fellowship with other believers we are strengthened in our resolve to follow Christ in obedience and with courage. In Philippians 1:27-28, Paul reminded the church in Philippi that they needed to stand shoulder to shoulder with their fellow believers so that they could stand firm against the enemy, Satan.

It’s hard enough to make time for potluck dinners and coffee between the services. Amiright? And it takes time and much more to live in such tightknit fellowship with other believers that we become a fortified family of God. But that’s what we must do if we are going to withstand the pressure and persecution from the enemy. How can you strengthen your ties of fellowship this week? I encourage you to think about that and then do something about it. I’m personally taking the time to pray for people in my church family and send them encouraging texts this week.

Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, and not frightened in anything by your opponents. ~ Philippians 1:27-28

xoxo, Kay

  1. Thank you so much for your devotional. I look forward to them daily. You are truly a blessing and an inspiration to me. Thank you for serving God with such grace!

  2. This was so good today. I learned things I didn’t know about Amazon Prime and your devotional needs to be preached to every church. Thanks for all you do, you’re not only an influence but an inspiration

    1. Thank you, Debra. I’m glad the post was helpful and that the devotional thought was meaningful to you. It certainly spoke to me yesterday, and I’m trying to follow through with what I learned today.

  3. What a great list Kay! You know, Larry’s hearing was damaged in VietNam so it is very hard for him to hear the sounds his iPhone makes. I honestly believe that he would benefit from having the Apple AirPods, so I am going to order him a pair. And while I’m at it, I will order one for me. The case for them that you shared is adorable! As far as fashion from Amazon, I’ve had good luck with the Amazon Essentials brand and I recently ordered two ruanas that I love, without breaking the bank. I don’t recall what brand they are, but I was looking for specific colors, so that is what influenced my decision. Because we live out in the country, we don’t get our Amazon purchases as fast as our Wal-Mart ones, but that doesn’t stop us from shopping through them. We just know to allow extra time. Have a wonderful day!

    1. Ooh, I bet those Airpods might help Larry, indeed. I’d love to hear how he likes them and if they do help him out. Thanks for sharing about the Amazon Essentials. I have heard good things about those. And it seems like I’m “almost ordered some” a couple of times, but never did. Maybe I should at least give their tees a try.

  4. I failed to mention in my earlier comment that I also order my velvet hangers from Amazon. I get the ones without the indentation so that my tops stay smooth on the shoulders.

  5. Kay,
On the subject of the 2winter costs you purchased at the Nordstrom sale are about the same in quality? I’m looking at both but I only need one.
    Thank you!

    1. Yes, they are very similar in quality. I think I do like the tie feature of the black one best perhaps. But they are similar in weight and texture of fabric and lining. Both very nice.
