I waited on my rush order from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to arrive so that I could share my finds with you. I’m so excited about this year’s sale. They have some great offerings and some new brands in the sale. The shoes, boots, jackets and jeans are so exciting, and I’m seeing a really wide variety for every lifestyle and budget. I can’t wait to share with you this fall preview featuring my #NSale favorites!

Size Referencing

For reference (I get no kick out of sharing my sizing details!), I’m 5’8″, weigh about 155 on a good day, have equal proportions and have an hourglass shape. I usually wear a size 8 in pants or jeans, but sometimes size up these days to a 30 in designer denim. I wear a size medium or 8 in tops, dresses, jackets, etc. I have a size 9.5 foot, medium width, and almost never size up or down unless the manufacturer has indicated the shoe runs small or large.

Unless I tell you otherwise, these are the sizes I’m wearing. I will definitely let you know when I sized up or down.

When you shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale through my links you help support my work here. Thank you so much!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Specifics

In case the sale is new to you, the Anniversary Sale is Nordstrom’s annual reward sale for their credit cardholders. It features staples such as bras, socks, pajamas and t-shirts, but also lots of brand new fall merchandise. The prices are dropped significantly for the sale, often up to 40%. But they truly do without fail go up to their normal price at the end of the sale on August 1.

Right now the top two tiers of Nordy cardholders are shopping the sale. But tomorrow, July 9, the rest of the cardholders can begin shopping. In fact, if you are a cardholder (or you open one right now), you can begin shopping the sale at 12:01 AM Eastern time, July 9 (July 8, at 11:01 PM Central, 10:01 Mountain & 9:01 PM Pacific time).

And Nordstrom opens the store to everyone (non cardholders) on Saturday July 16, again at 12:01 AM Eastern time.

Learn more about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and my tips for shopping it smart in the previous post. And see all my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale coverage HERE. It’s extensive and there will be more bonus posts to come. Remember, even if you’re not shopping yet, as long as you open a Nordy Club account you can begin filling a Wish List with your picks in the #NSale preview.

Let’s see what I found! And I’ve styled them in Fall Preview Outfits.

Great Finds from Nordstrom Brands

Some of my favorite finds this year are from Nordstrom brands, which means the prices are great. And the quality is really good, too. The Caslon distressed slim leg high waist jeans are one of my favorite finds because the price is amazing under $40, and the quality is good. The distressing is perfect for the woman who wants a little, but doesn’t want to go crazy with it. These are a great everyday sort of jean. I sized up in the Caslon distressed slim leg high waist jeans for a more relaxed fit, but the 8 did fit for a slim fit.

Caslon Jacket and Jeans
Caslon distressed slim leg high waist jeans (I sized up to a 10 for a loose fit) // Caslon utility jacket // Converse platform sneakers (mine are from last year) // Goodlife tee (not in sale, but available) // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace

My Goodlife tee is my favorite t-shirt, such a nice length and fit. It’s not in the sale, but is available. I’m just using it here to show with some looks. I didn’t buy a t-shirt in the sale, but I can recommend this one or this one.

The Caslon utility jacket is another fun find. This utility jacket is so soft with that already worn feel. It cinches with drawcords inside. And I love that it snaps up rather than buttoning. It comes in other colors, too. The perfect casual fall jacket. It’s TTS.

Caslon Jacket and Jeans

I’m wearing my Converse platform sneakers from last year. This year they don’t have the gold lace grommets, but white instead. That’s probably good. I get so many compliments on these sneakers and they feel great. They have them in most sizes right now, but they did sell out last year and I never saw them again. They say TTS on the website, but I sized down a full size to an 8.5 in these.

My jewelry in these first few looks includes these great Kendra Scott drop earrings in gold iridescent abalone. I think these will be very versatile for fall and they’ll add some light around my face, always good when wearing darker colors. I’m also wearing the Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace. This necklace looks high quality and is a nice weight, but the price is so good.

Nordstrom Sweater and Caslon Jeans
Nordstrom cashmere crewneck sweater // Caslon distressed slim leg high waist jeans // Open Edit Kyla flat mules // Rails Chelsea plaid blazer // Allsaints Odette East/West leather tote // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace

Still wearing those Caslon distressed slim leg high waist jeans, I’ve changed into the Nordstrom cashmere crewneck sweater. This very lighyweight cashmere crewneck sweater fits true to size for a slightly relaxed fit. I love the oatmeal heather color. Very soft and good for layering because it’s on the thinner side, but not see-through.

Let’s talk about these shoes! Love, love, love. The price on these Open Edit Kyla flat mules is so good. They do flip flop when you walk. So if that’s a no-go for you, don’t bother with these. But if you’re just walking a little, I think they are so chic and worth it. The mules come in other great colors, too. I just noticed the website says to size up. I’m wearing my usual 9.5 and they do just barely fit in the back, but the toe box (or point!) feels comfortable to me.

Nordstrom Sweater and Caslon Jeans

Style Tip: My Nordstrom stylist picked out these shoes for me when I told her I wanted to incorporate a lot of trending brown into my fall wardrobe. She pointed out that this blue mineral shade looks great with brown.

The Rails Chelsea plaid blazer is another favorite. This lightweight jacket runs large; I’m wearing a small very comfortably. It’s supposed to have a boxy, oversized fit. But I still suggest sizing down. It will make a great transitional piece because it is so lightweight and roomy.

Caslon Jeans and Kut from the Kloth Jacket
cashmere v-neck sweater // Kut from the Kloth faux suede moto jacket // Caslon distressed slim leg high waist jeans // Allsaints Odette East/West leather tote // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace // Blondo Tasel waterproof block heel booties

Next I’m wearing the Caslon distressed slim leg high waist jeans (I have more jeans coming in today!) with the Nordstrom Signature cashmere v-neck sweater. This camel sweater has just a touch more heft than the other sweater above. But it’s still thin enough to layer over nicely. I love that the neckline is not too deep. I sized down to a small.

Nordstrom Sweater and Caslon Jeans

Over the cashmere v-neck sweater I’m wearing the Kut from the Kloth faux suede moto jacket. This trending faux suede moto jacket will make a great early fall transitional piece because it is fairly lightweight. It leaves you plenty of room for a t-shirt or even a sweater underneath. Really a good year-round piece. It runs true to size.

Caslon Jeans and Kut from the Kloth Jacket

For this look I wore the Blondo Tasel waterproof block heel booties. These booties are very comfortable in the tan suede and true to size.

Next up, different jeans!

New to Me Joe’s Jeans

I actually just this minute got in more jeans, but for now I just have two pair to show you. However, I’m so excited to share with you the Mia high waist raw hem flare jeans from Joe’s. This is a new brand to me, and I’m very impressed. The Mia fit true to size on me, and they are long enough for me to wear with these 3 1/2″ heels. Remember, I’m 5’8″.

Joe's Jeans
Joe’s the Mia high waist raw hem flare jeans // Open Edit fitted cotton poplin button-up shirt // Madewell desert dune leather belt // Paul Green New York lug sole boots // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace

The bootcut, flare leg and wide leg jeans are definitely trending this year, and I’m a little nervous about it. Even though I’ve shown some here at the blog before, I haven’t worn any much. But I do love these Mia high waist raw hem flare jeans because they feel comfortable with just a little stretch, but also look elongating and slimming. I personally prefer a slight flare or a wide but straight leg like these over the skinny flares for me. But you’ll find both in the sale.

The Open Edit fitted cotton poplin button-up shirt I’m wearing here fits slightly snug, but it is supposed to be a more fitted shirt. I’m wearing my usual size medium. It’s 100% cotton. I like the cuffs on this one because you can easily cuff them up like I did. It gives me ample room in the sleeves too.

Joe's Jeans
Joe’s the Mia high waist raw hem flare jeans // Open Edit fitted cotton poplin button-up shirt // Madewell desert dune leather belt // Paul Green New York lug sole boots // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace // Coach polished pebble leather shoulder bag // Vince Camuto Glen plaid blazer

Over the cotton poplin button-up shirt I’ve added the Vince Camuto Glen plaid blazer. This long, polyester blend plaid blazer TTS to slightly large. I’m wearing my usual size 8. It is lined, but still fairly lightweight.

I also want to point out my Madewell desert dune leather belt. On the website this belt looks golden yellow, but it really is a very versatile honey color. I’m wearing a medium with ease. I think this is a great belt for transitioning into fall.

Joe's Jeans

I’m wearing the Paul Green New York lug sole boots in black crinkled patent. As usual with Paul Green, these luxury boots feel amazing. The quality is stellar. They are an investment, but if you enjoy wearing this style they may be a worthwhile one. The Coach polished pebble leather shoulder bag has another detachable strap if you want the bag to hang lower, but I prefer mine up under my arm like this. It’s got ample room inside, and the leather is very soft and supple.

I’ve switched to the Kendra Scott drop earrings in golden obsidian in these outfits. It’s a very, very dark brown with flecks of gold.

Joe's Jeans
Joe’s the Mia high waist raw hem flare jeans // Goodlife tee (not in sale, but available) // Vince Shaker stitch v-neck cashmere sweater // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace// Paul Green New York lug sole boots // Allsaints Odette East/West leather tote

The Vince Shaker stitch v-neck cashmere sweater is luxurious, but also pretty boxy. If that’s not your thing, steer clear. I probably wouldn’t wear it buttoned. But I do like it over a t-shirt. I think I’d probably prefer it with slimmer leg jeans, too. It is a great sweater and has a v in the back, too. I love the color.

Joe's Jeans

The Allsaints Odette East/West leather tote is such a modern take on the popular tote bag. It’s smaller, so you don’t get that huge bag thing. And it would be a great proportion for a more petite woman. I love the raw leather interior and the strap options. It also comes in all black. But I think this camel with black straps and trim is so versatile. Great bag.

Favorites from Eileen Fisher

I enjoy Eileen Fisher’s relaxed fit clothing. I know it’s not everyone’s thing, and the prices can be high. But if you’re one of my EF shoppers, I’ve got good news for you. She has some wonderful pieces in this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. And the prices get reasonable with the savings.

Eileen Fisher
boat neck raglan sleeve merino wool sweater // Eileen Fisher corduroy cropped tapered pants // Cole Haan Viola skimmer flats // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace

The Eileen Fisher corduroy cropped tapered pants do run roomy as usual. But I have trouble sizing down in EF, too. At least in bottoms. So I’m wearing my usual size medium and they fit very roomy. But I like the look and feel of them, so I’m probably keeping these. I really appreciate that they feature a zipper and button fly, but also a flat front, while the back of the waist is elasticized. It says you can dry these in the machine, so I think these organic cotton blend pants may draw up just a bit. And then they’ll be perfect. They feel great on and I love the slightly tapered but loose fitting leg.

Eileen Fisher

I’m wearing the corduroy cropped tapered pants with the Eileen Fisher boat neck raglan sleeve merino wool sweater in clear water. It comes in three other colors, but I love this pale blue aqua. It’s a lightweight sweater, so it will be a very nice transitional pieces. The cropped length means you can leaving it hanging out and still achieve nice proportions. I did size down to a small here.

Above I’m wearing the Cole Haan Viola skimmer flats. I’m not sure these are the shoes for this outfit, but I wanted to work these into the post because they are stellar shoes. They fit beautifully and oh so comfortably true to size. I like the little peek-a-boo feature on the side and the sophisticated tie on the top. They come in other colors, too.

Eileen Fisher
Eileen Fisher crop lantern pants // Nordstrom V-neck sweater // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace // Blondo Tasel waterproof block heel booties

Here I’m wearing the Eileen Fisher crop lantern pants in dark brownstone. I got these in white last summer, and these fall transition pants are only slightly thicker. They’re still very lightweight, not heavy at all. But they have a lovely drape and feel great on. Again, I might could have sized down, but I went with my usual size medium instead. And I’m fine with these.

Eileen Fisher pants and Nordstrom cashmere sweater

Above I’m showing you a rearview so you can see the V in the back of the Nordstrom V-neck sweater. It’s made of recycled fibers, but it is very soft and luxurious. It feels somewhat like cashmere, but it’s not. I’m wearing the pink zephyr, and it comes in black and purple cabbage, too. It’s a nice price, too.

Eileen Fisher pants and Nordstrom cashmere sweater

And I’m wearing the Steve Madden Fleur pointed toe mules. If you enjoy wearing mules, especially in the fall, these are a great pair. I love this sand suede, but they come in other colors and a black and beige plaid. The chunky chains on top are fun and on trend. They stay on my feet nicely, true to size.

Next up, I’m loving these Nordstrom Moonlight eco easy crop pajamas. I have the black, but I sent my mom a pair of them in pretty pale blue. They come in other nice colors, too. I’ve slept in them already and they sleep great. They’re cool and comfortable. True to size for a roomy, relaxed fit.

Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan

I got a size medium in the black Barefoot Dreams circle cardigan and it fits so nicely. These cardigans are luxuriously soft and cozy. But I also got the longer length Barefoot Dreams long cardigan in soft camel.

Premium Denim at Its Best

It took a while longer for most of my premium denim purchases to get in, but they’re here now. And they didn’t disappoint. I’m so excited about the jeans in this year’s sale. We’re seeing longer lengths and great silhouettes.

The Kut from the Kloth Rachel fab ab mom jeans with a high waist and raw edge hem are a great option at one of the lower price points for quality denim. The lighter wash is on trend, and perfect for now through fall. They fit true to size. I ordered both the 10 and 8, but I’m wearing the 8 here very comfortably.

Kut from the Kloth jeans
Kut from the Kloth Rachel fab ab mom jeans // Vince wool & cashmere rib tunic sweater // Madewell desert dune leather belt // Steve Madden Fleur Pointed Toe Mules in black plaid

I’ve worn the Kut from the Kloth Rachel fab ab mom jeans with a Vince wool & cashmere rib tunic sweater in the color “wafer.” It’s also available in “tide pool,” which looks like a deep blue, very pretty. This is a luxurious sweater, so it’s an investment. But I think either of these colors could get lots of wear, depending on your wardrobe. It runs true to size.

I tucked in the wool & cashmere rib tunic sweater above and added the Madewell desert dune leather belt. But I left it untucked below so you could see the length, the silhouette and the side slits.

Vince wool & Cashmere sweater

The Paige Laurel Canyon high waist chewed hem flare jeans are definitely longer than they look on the website. Just goes to show the importance of reading the information and know what inseam you are looking for. The Paige Laurel Canyon jeans have a 31 1/2″ inseam on the website, but the tag says 32″ inseam. I think it’s even longer and I’ll measure it when I get a chance. Anyhoo! I’m 5’8″, wearing a heel and the jeans are long enough.

Paige Laurel Canyon high waist chewed hem flare jeans
Paige Laurel Canyon high waist chewed hem flare jeans // Treasure & Bond organic cotton blend crewneck sweater // Blondo Tasel waterproof block heel bootie

The Paige Laurel Canyon jeans have great stretch with 2% spandex, and the denim is soft and luxurious. I love the wash, appreciate the rough hemline without any additional distressing and think the rise is nice, too. These are keepers. I did size up to a 31 in these, probably could have worn the 30 because I have lots of room, enough to tuck in a sweater. But they feel so good…

Treasure and Bond Sweater

I topped the jeans with the Treasure & Bond organic cotton blend crewneck sweater in brown temple. It comes in four other colors. This is a slightly oversized sweater with lots of stretch. It’s very soft and has a nice heft.

Ralph Lauren Coat

I don’t think I mentioned it, but I like the Blondo Tasel waterproof block heel bootie in the suede further above, but I think I’m sending back these in the dark brown. The leather is not as soft and they cut into my ankles when I walk. That’s a shame because they look sharp.

Ralph Lauren Coat
Lauren Ralph Lauren faux leather trim wool blend coat // Paige Laurel Canyon high waist chewed hem flare jeans // Treasure & Bond organic cotton blend crewneck sweater // Blondo Tasel waterproof block heel bootie

I haven’t taken the time to steam the Lauren Ralph Lauren faux leather trim wool blend coat, but I think it’s a keeper. This coat is such a nice price, too. And this morning it had sold out, but this evening it’s been completely restocked. And they have the right photo up now, too. They had the wrong coat here before, but I took a gamble and I like what I got. It fits true to size; I’m wearing a 10, which is what I generally prefer in coats.

On my way out of the store the other day I saw Cyndi Spivey trying on the Paige Cindy high waist straight leg jeans and they looked great on her. I was too exhausted to try on another thing, so I came home and ordered them. They feel as good as they look! Again I sized up to a 31 (I think I was feeling fat when I ordered all of these!) and they’re very stretchy, roomy on me. But I’m keeping them. As long as they don’t look baggy on me, and I don’t think they do or will, I’m fine with the bigger size.

Pink Nordstrom V-Neck Sweater
Paige Cindy high waist straight leg jeans // Nordstrom V-neck sweater // Cole Haan Viola skimmer flats

I’m wearing the Paige Cindy high waist straight leg jeans with the Nordstrom V-neck sweater that I shared details on above. If you’re considering adding a leather jacket to your wardrobe, this Treasure & Bond belted faux leather jacket is a nice option. It something different from the usual moto jackets or blazers, but it can be very versatile and slenderizing, too.

with faux leather jacket
Treasure & Bond belted faux leather jacket // Paige Cindy high waist straight leg jeans // Nordstrom V-neck sweater // Cole Haan Viola skimmer flats // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace

The Treasure & Bond belted faux leather jacket fits true to size for a pleasantly roomy fit. I might could size down, but I would hesitate to do that in a jacket under which you may want to wear thick sweaters. Above I’ve just looped the belt together in the back so it stays out of the way and creates nice lines in the front.

Belted Faux Leather Jacket

And above I’ve tied the belt in front after buttoning just one button. I think this is a nice way to wear this sharp faux leather jacket. And it’s a really pretty, rich chocolate brown. And the fabric is a nice quality, too.

I had high hopes for this Barbour Tumel belted quilted jacket. Quilted jackets are definitely trending again this year, and I really enjoyed wearing my black ones last fall. They were the perfect weight for all of fall and into early winter. Then I wore them a good bit again in spring. So I thought this “trench” color would be a good addition. But the Barbour Tumel belted quilted jacket is definitely on the roomier side. I’m wearing a 10, but would need to go down to an 8. Otherwise, it is a really nice jacket. I love that it zips, has functional buttons and has a belt.

Veronica Beard Ecru Jeans
Veronica Beard Crosbie raw hem high waist wide leg jeans// Nordstrom V-neck sweater // Paul Green New York Lug Sole bootie // Barbour Tumel belted quilted jacket // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace

I’m wearing the Barbour Tumel belted quilted jacket with the Veronica Beard Crosbie raw hem high waist wide leg jeans, and I hate that we missed getting a photo of these without the jacket. I did size up, per the recommendation on the website. These high waist wide leg jeans have only the smallest hint of stretch, so sizing up absolutely works. They feel great. The rise is quite high, hitting me over the navel. But I think the length and silhouette are very slenderizing, especially for ecru colored jeans. I will have to have them cut off more because I’m wearing them with the Paul Green New York Lug Sole bootie and they’re still puddling on the floor.

Quilted Jacket

Up next, the Veronica Beard Ryleigh high waist stretch slim straight leg jeans in washed black. I just knew these black straight leg jeans were not going to work for me and my curves, but voila! I’m beyond pleased with how nicely these jeans fit and feel. I got my true size in these and still have ample room in them.

Black Veronica Beard jeans
Veronica Beard Ryleigh high waist stretch slim straight leg jeans in washed black // Nordstrom Signature cashmere v-neck sweater // Paul Green New York Lug Sole bootie // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace // Clare Vivier perforated suede foldover clutch

They didn’t provide any measurements on these jeans on the website, so it was a gamble. But I love the width of the leg opening, the straight leg and the mid to high rise. I’m able to wear the Paul Green New York Lug Sole bootie under the leg opening nicely, but they’ll also look good with flats and other shoes. See what I mean about nicer lengths this year? It’s like the bootie offerings and denim offerings are finally meeting up in harmony. Ha!

Black Jeans and Camel Sweater

I’ve been wanting a new clutch bag for sometime now. Something nice, but also casual enough for my lifestyle so that I can carry it frequently. This Clare Vivier perforated suede foldover clutch fit the bill perfectly. It’s pricey, but the last clutch I had (a leopard print one) I used so frequently and really enjoyed it. I think this camel suede foldover clutch with black and red trim will prove equally versatile.

And here’s another coat. I love this one!

Black Coat
Sam Edelman belted wool blend coat // Veronica Beard Ryleigh high waist stretch slim straight leg jeans in washed black // Nordstrom Signature cashmere v-neck sweater // Paul Green New York Lug Sole bootie // Kendra Scott drop earrings // Argento Vivo Herringbone chain necklace // Clare Vivier perforated suede foldover clutch

This Sam Edelman belted wool blend coat could use steaming for sure. But trust me when I say the drape is nice and the heft is perfect for a winter coat. It fits nicely true to size; I’m wearing my usual preferred 10. It’s nicely lined. And I love the fact that, while it has a hidden interior button and a snap, you can tie the coat with the belt and the button/snap is hidden. So it looks like a true belted coat, but stays closed with a little more security.

Black Sam Edelman Coat

The Sam Edelman belted wool blend coat also comes in a bright and cheerful deep magenta. But I have been wearing the same black coat for well over 20 years, so I’m thrilled to have found this classic belted wool blend coat.

Another Eileen Fisher Combo

Finally, I have one more combination from Eileen. These slim knit ankle pants in dark brownstone are actually a crepe knit. So they are very lightweight but still substantial enough to look like nice slacks rather than leggings. They do feature a pull-on elasticized waistband with a flat front, so they’re quite comfortable. I’m wearing my true size medium and they’re very roomy. You might consider sizing down. I mean really, since I’m usually a size 8 in pants, I probably should have gotten a small (6-8), but I’m just always worried about the hip width in these slim cut pants.

slim ankle pants
slim knit ankle pants // funnel neck cap sleeve merino wool sweater

I ordered the funnel neck cap sleeve merino wool sweater to try with the slim knit ankle pants. I think it will make a nice transition piece in fall. But they do also have this more cropped mock neck cap sleeve blouse in the dark brownstone, too. I’m sure that’s a lighter weight option. I did size down in the cap sleeve merino wool sweater to a small.

slim ankle pants

I think the blue Open Edit Kyla flat mules look really nice with this all brown duo.

Spread the love

Blessed for My Day

I love pretty clothes. That’s just the truth. I always have. While my girlfriends and I always enjoyed shopping when I was a teenager, I have a feeling I was the one who instigated those trips to the mall. I love the textures, the colors, the interesting silhouettes, the details, the new styles and the classics. I just love pretty garments. And I really enjoy putting them together into nice, wearable outfits. Some people enjoy decorating their homes or planting pretty flowers or making crafts. I love putting together outfits with nice clothes.

But I always have to be diligent to make sure that I dedicate even more time to clothing the inner woman. I know that pretty clothes and well coordinated outfits do not a woman make. I want to be a woman clothed in the strength and character of the Lord. I want to have a heart that reflects God’s glory, not just an outfit that reflects good taste. So I do the hard and daily work of spending time in God’s presence, reading His Word, meditating on it and praying through it. And I can honestly say that there is nothing more fulfilling than knowing that Christ walks with me through the day, helping me to make wise decisions and display His love to those around me. How are your dressing yourself today?

She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come. ~ Proverbs 31:22-25

  1. Love me my jeans, but not sure distressed jeans with holes are a good look on gals of a “certain age”. The raw edges may be cutting age as well, but ditto. Looks like one is trying to relive the 70’s, while in their 70’s. As we age, to look fabulous I think we need to choose fashion more carefully to avoid the dreaded “frumpy old lady” look, as well the other end of the spectrum, “fashion victim”. Both can be unnecessarilly aging, and who needs that?

Minor point, but some of us with gray hair may no longer look our best in beiges, browns or tans, regardless of what the stores are trying to sell us this year.

    1. Hi Lena, thanks so much for reading and sharing your thoughts. But I respectfully disagree. We absolutely can wear these beautiful neutrals with a little makeup and accessorizing. I don’t feel like the stores are trying to sell me some colors either. I’m very excited about the browns and camels and beiges I’m seeing. They make me happy. And, while I’m not in my 70s, I don’t believe there is a time limit on style choices. I think those are very personalized decisions. We do need to let our styles evolve with time, for sure. But we can make those choices when we get there, not at arbitrary time limits.

  2. I like the faux suede moto jacket! And I also liked Proverb 31!
The Dignity I feel when I take time getting Dressed For My Day
is so important in my life. Thank you for reminding me!
I can shop on July 9.

  3. Love your all your choices and classic style Kay! And that Kut from the Kloth jacket is calling my name – it’s so good!

  4. Kay,
I appreciate all the work you’ve put into providing these posts. You’ve highlighted some items I might not have looked at and your sizing information is very helpful. Thank you.
    Laura

  5. So question….. I plan to order on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale tonight, but wanted to make sure you get credit for my choices. If I go to your blog and click on any of the links you’ve posted for Nordstrom, will that put me into your account and make sure you get credit? Or is there a specific link I need to use?

    1. You should be able to just click through any of my links to Nordstrom. But you might want to sign out of your Nordstrom account, clear your browser and the go to Nordstrom from one of my links and sign back into your account. Thanks so much! 😊

  6. I too am nervous about the flared jeans. I never embraced skinny jeans so when the newer straighter legs came out I purchased quite a few things to fill my wardrobe with my safe spot. I think I am going to branch out this year and maybe get one pair of flared jeans and give it a whirl. Hard to go back to the 70s.

  7. Hi Kay,
Thanks to all your coverage and recommendations I stayed up until midnight last night to purchase the brown Kut from the Kloth jacket and a gold medallion necklace. This was the first time ever for me to shop the Norstrom Anniversary sale as a cardholder. It was fun to view the new fall fashions in the summer.

  8. It is always a pleasure and privilege to read your blogs, and listen to your videos. You are a blessing for both my inner and outer woman!
