December 5, 2022

Yes, we’re sailing on through December at lightening speed already. But today I’m backing up a bit and sharing my favorites from November as well as the top sellers in the DFMD community. These are the things I wore, used and enjoyed the most in November as well as the items that were purchased most through my links here at the blog and through my YouTube and social media links. Let’s check out our November 2022 favorites.

My November Favorites

It’s gotten quite cold here in Ohio, and my November favorites reflect that need to cozy up, warm up and dress up!

Faux Leather Dress

Brown Leather Dress and Knee High Boots
Faux Leather Dress (TTS) // See the original post for details.

I was surprised at how much I love this faux leather dress from Talbots. For that matter, I was a little surprised that Talbots has this dress. I think it’s super modern and fashion forward. Bravo, Talbots!

Wool Blend Double Breasted Coat

Brown Leather Dress and Knee High Boots
Wool Blend Double Breasted Coat // See the original post for details.

In that same blog post I wore this washed cranberry Wool Blend Double Breasted Coat. But in real life I’ve worn it quite a bit, too. This full length Wool Blend Coat has turned out to be my favorite for the winter so far. It has such a nice weight, a silky satin lining and an unmatched color. They’re selling out in this cranberry fast, but they still seem to have it well stocked in the neon fuchsia. And Ann Taylor has lots of other gorgeous coats, too. In fact, I’ve never been disappointed with a coat from Ann Taylor. (Psst! Princess Kate has been seen wearing a soft blue coat like this one.)

Flurry Force Insulated PrimaLoft Jacket

Workout Clothes from Athleta
Flurry Force Insulated PrimaLoft Jacket // See the original post for further details.

This Flurry Force Insulated PrimaLoft Jacket has become a fast friend since the weather has cooled. I wear it daily for my walks. So far it’s been enough, even on days when the temperatures are in the 30s, especially once I get going. It’s got crazy stretch in it. The jacket is actually very lightweight and so packable, but it protects from the wind and the PrimaLoft insulation really keeps you warm. It’s also available in black and foliage orange. It fits true to size.

Kut from the Kloth Chocolate Brown Coated Jeans

Coated Jeans and Sweater
Kut from the Kloth Chocolate Brown Coated Jeans // For additional details see the original blog post.

I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant to try the coated jean trend. But once I put on these Kut from the Kloth Brown Coated Jeans I was sold. Not only are they comfortable, but I think they look pretty nice on, too. They fit true to size. I did size up to the 10, but I think I could have stuck with the 8 just fine. I tend to get nervous when sizing and default to the higher size. Then later I regret it. So stick with your usual size here. I got mine at Evereve, but they also have them at Nordstrom and in plus sizes.

Red Urbanite Top

What I Wore to My Hair Appointment
Red Urbanite Top // For full details see the original post.

I already had the brown urbanite top (no longer available in brown), so I knew I’d love this breezy, stretchy and super soft button up travel top. The red is deep and beautiful, and red is one of my signature colors. So I’m already loving wearing it with black, brown and denim. It works perfectly with my travel clothes or my activewear as a coverup.

Kendra Scott Carson Set of 2 Chain Necklaces in Mixed Metal

Carson Necklaces

Early in the month I got these Kendra Scott Carson Set of 2 Chain Necklaces in Mixed Metal and I’ve been wearing them frequently ever since. Strangely, I can’t find any close up photos of me wearing them except in the YouTube photo above where I only have on the gold one. But I especially love how the silver and gold necklace look together, specifically when worn with these Kendra Scott earrings, also in mixed metal.

Reindeer Brooch

Brooch
Reindeer Brooch // For more details see the original blog post. (I also love that grey coat and wear it frequently!)

The Reindeer Brooch is indeed one of my November favorites, but honestly I’m enjoying my other holiday jewelry pieces from Talbots just as much. Every year as long as I can remember I add at least one holiday accessory from Talbots to my collection. I just think they do a great job creating fun, memorable and quality holiday accessories. I also added this blue bird brooch and these gold-tone stretch bracelets to my collection this year. Fun!

L.L.Bean Flannel Pajama Pants

Relaxing by the Fire
L.L.Bean Flannel Pajama Pants // waffle knit henley // daybreak scuffs // Barefoot Dreams blanket

I actually purchased and wore these L.L.Bean Flannel Pajama Pants last year. But I’ve pulled them out of storage and I’m wearing them on repeat right now. Don’t worry! I have two pair – the vintage indigo (shown here) and the deep coral plaid. I actually have the L.L.Bean Camp PJ Set, too, but I don’t like the way the fit, so I’m donating them. (They feel short in the rise to me.) But I wonder if the Cozy PJ set would be more to my liking since they look like the same pants as I have. I’ve got Rewards points with L.L.Bean, so I’m ordering them.

Parks Board Game

On Thanksgiving we had the joy of having my daughter and son-in-law as well as my son and daughter-in-law and their dog Cooper with us. My heart is still warm from that day. And yet…we failed to get a single photo. I guess we were just “in the moment.” Yeah, we’ll go with that! Anyhow it was a great day. And at least a couple of those hours were spent learning and playing the Parks board game.

the Parks board game

Yeah, that’s the kind of photos we did manage to get. Hahaha! Anyhow, you can see it’s a beautiful game. And we really enjoyed playing it. We’re a huge boardgame family all around. If you are, too, I highly suggest the Parks board game. But we also have Trails, which is similar, takes much less time to play and is perfect for two people.

Koolaburra by UGG faux suede sherpa pet vest

Since I knew Cooper was joining us for Thanksgiving, I included him in my recent cozy finds Kohl’s blog post. Daniel and Stephanie loved the new Koolaburra by UGG faux suede sherpa pet vest I had for Cooper to model. Of course we gifted it to him for Christmas, too. Doesn’t it look so nice with his coloring?

By the way, Cooper is wearing a medium.

Colleen Rothschild Skincare

Finally, when I was at LTKCon I was gifted full size products from Colleen Rothschild. I had heard so much good about her products from other influencers, but had never tried them myself. So I took the month of November to use the Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm (so luxurious!), Face Oil No. 9, the Glycolic Acid Peel Pads, the Retinol Supreme Eye Serum and the Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum. And I thoroughly enjoyed all of these products and had great results.

I will say that you need to introduce the Glycolic Acid Peel Pads to your skincare regimen slowly. I just used them (and still use them) every other day or so, after washing my face with the Radiant Cleansing Balm in the evenings. These a good, high quality, clean products. And I love that they are supposed to be formulated for all skin types. I met Colleen and she is lovely and warm.

I’ll continue to use these some, but I am returning to my Elemis products as I finish these off. I just love the Elemis products that much. And since I was able to get them at a “good” price (sort of!) when they were 35% off recently, I think I can justify the return. Otherwise, I’d definitely continue with the Colleen Rothschild. If you’re interested, you might want to try them out with this Discovery collection, a $150 value priced at $69.

Your November Favorites

Keep in mind, that I really have no way of knowing exactly what was purchased when you clicked through my links. But the “favorites” below are simply the links readers and viewers clicked through the most resulting in sales. They are, 5-1…

Barefoot Dreams Cozychic Lite Cardigan

I shared this super soft and cozy cardigan in my favorites list last month and evidently it piqued your interest. I wear mine most every morning and night over my pajamas. I love that it has pockets for my cell phone and reading glasses as I go through my morning and evening routines.

Bombas Women’s Running Ankle Socks Gift Pack

Some women are getting some great running socks for Christmas! Or maybe they were purchased for you. Hahaha! I split the Bombas Women’s Running Ankle Socks Gift Pack I bought between Abigail and Stephanie, my daughter and daughter-in-law. I love Bombas.

Bombas (1)
Baby’s First Year 8-pack Bomba Gift Box // Bombas Women’s Running Ankle Socks Gift Pack

In fact, I just sent the Baby’s First Year 8-pack Bomba Gift Box to some new parents for their tiny boy. He can wear the first four pair while he’s just flailing his little footsies around in the air from his car seat or play mat. Then he can graduate to the four pair with grippers on the bottom when he begins to toddle around a little. Isn’t that genius!?

Moonie Water Resistant Leather Combat Boots

Boots I Wore for an Autumn Day Trip
Leather Combat Boots // See the original post for details.

These Moonie Water Resistant Leather Combat Boots are a great buy right now. They fit true to size and have a side zipper for easy on and off. They are available in other colors, too.

Everyday Stretch Straight Leg Pants

Monday Working from Home
Everyday Stretch Straight Leg Pants

Weren’t these Everyday Stretch Straight Leg Pants in the top five top sellers last month, too? I think so. Indeed, I’m wearing mine today! And I’m hunting for my grey ones to wear later this week with this new sweater. Fun!

The Quince Cashmere V-Neck Sweater – just $50!

And the top seller was this Quince Cashmere V-Neck Sweater. Such a great buy!

Quince The $50 Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

I do hope some of you purchased this $50 Quince Cashmere V-Neck Sweater in colors other than black. I purchased the black for my Cashmere Sweater comparison post because I figure if you can make a good black sweater, you can do equally well or better with colors.

Well those are our favorites. I always like to hear from you in the comments if you purchased any of these products. Let me know how they worked out for you. Please be kind and gracious in your remarks, of course. But it is okay to mention if something didn’t work for you. I like to practice full transparency here at Dressed for My Day. And if you had a problem with something I recommended, I want to know about it…kindly.

Have a great beginning to your week.

Blessed for My Day

What does it really mean to be a “Christ follower?” It’s definitely more than just acknowledging that you believe in Jesus. The Bible reminds us that even the demons believe in Him and tremble, but they are not His followers. To follow Jesus requires that we stick close to Him. So we must meet Him daily in prayer and Bible reading. Following Jesus also means that we will obey Him. As we read things in the Bible that buck up against our ideas, traditions and behaviors, we will willingly and humbly correct our course so that we are thinking, speaking and living in alignment with Jesus. This is not always easy, but I’ve found that the more I do it, the less difficult it becomes.

And of course there is huge benefit to following Jesus. He has assured us that when we follow Him we will not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. What an amazing promise, considering how dark our world sometimes seems. And that light will guide us through life’s hard times and difficult decisions, too. Let’s choose to truly be followers of Jesus, sticking close to Him, not just in theory, but in thought, deed and practice.

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

  1. Your blog and You Tube channel are fun, Kay. It is great to see the photos and to enjoy browsing the links you provide. I particularly look forward to reading ‘Blessed for My Day’ to remind me to dress well from the inside out!

    1. Hi Marcia. I’m so glad you’re enjoying my content here and on the Youtube channel. And I’m delighted that you also enjoy the devotional thoughts. Thanks for letting me know. 💕

  2. Ten years ago when I turned 50 I asked my husband to get me LL Bean flannel pjs and I wanted them monogrammed. They come in petite so they are perfect for my pint-sized five foot frame. I still wear them and the quality is amazing! He bought himself a set recently (and had them monogrammed) and the quality is still there. I don’t mind spending extra on pjs because I have to be comfortable when I sleep or I won’t!

  3. I have been thinking about buying a Talbots every day straight leg pants for a while now, but I have so many navy and black pairs of pants. I did finally see they are in gray. Maybe I will be ordering a pair in the black or gray
Loved the BFMD. A good reminder that we have to stay in the word every day. Have a blessed day.
