Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a good week. It’s time for me to share my daily outfits with you.

This post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links.

How This Works

These are my real life outfits from my own closet. Many of these things are available, but some may not be. When I can locate one quickly I’ll share substitutes and/or more economical options. But if I don’t provide one and you’d like for me to, just ask.

All available items are linked in the captions of the photos. Even if they don’t look like links (sometimes they don’t highlight for some reason), they generally are. So just click through if you’re interested.

What I Wore On Friday

Friday James and I went to another movie. We go in waves. Ha! I had purchased this sweet tee the previous week and wanted to wear it. So I paired it with my black Bristol pants from Talbots. These are great three-season pants, and they’re on big time sale right now. They run true to size.

I completed the outfit with my black sandals and a favorite pair of earrings, keeping things really simple.

What I Wore On Saturday

Saturday I just did things around the house and got out a little in the afternoon to run some errands. I wore this navy polo style dress. Comfort ruled this day, but I still felt like my outfit felt neat and pretty.

Again, keeping things very simple, I completed this one-and-done outfit with my Naot Dorith sandals and my lightweight Kendra Scott Veronica earrings. I’ve had these earrings for several years now and absolutely love them. They’re my go-to pair when I don’t know what else to wear. Hoops are very “in” right now, and they are light enough not to pull down my “old ears.” Ha!

What I Wore On Sunday

Sunday we had a casual day at church, so I wore my Paige raw hem ankle jeans with a linen button up shirt. Love this shirt! And it comes in some other pretty colors and stripes, too. I did size down to a small in it.

Unfortunately I splattered a tiny bit of marinara sauce on my linen button up shirt at lunch. It came out later, but I needed to change shirts to run to the mall for a pick-up. I don’t normally go to the mall on Sunday, but we had a photo shoot scheduled for early Monday morning, so I needed to get the things I had selected from J.Crew. I decided to leave my jeans and sandals on, and just changed into my silk shirt. I don’t wear it nearly enough and what am I waiting for?

Of course when I got home I did just change into loungewear for the rest of the day. But a pretty silk shirt and jeans is always a good look.

What I Wore On Monday

Monday morning we were out by 7 a.m. to shoot photos for the week. Gotta beat the heat! Afterwards I stayed in the green cargo pants I wore for Tuesday’s blog post, but I swapped in my simple black tank and black sandals.

Above I’m wearing some old black sandals from Everlane, but that day my new Naot Whetu sandals in “oily shadow nubuck” arrived and I changed into them. Yeah, I’m addicted to Naots. It’s true. But I think I’m calling it quits with three pair. Ha! By the way, the Naot Kayla sandals did not work for me. Even after sizing up a half size, my toes hung over the front of the shoes. Strange really.

What I Wore On Tuesday

Tuesday it started warming up here again, so I decided it was a linen kind of day. I wore this Nile green combo from Eileen Fisher. They’re both sold out of course, but you can find similar options here. Anyhow, I guess the moral of the story is don’t be afraid to go monochromatic with a color. It can be slimming and very lovely.

I completed this simple summer outfit with my Tory Burch sandals and my Julie Vos necklace and earrings.

What I Wore On Wednesday

Wednesday was just another work from home day, but I thought it would be nice to wear a dress. So I put on my pretty blue Tommy Bahama sleeveless shirtdress. I’ve really loved wearing this dress this summer. On this day I opted to leave the belt off.

I discovered that this pretty dress is still available in several pretty colors and a good range of sizes. And it’s also available here in a soft, pastel plaid. For comfort and ease, I wore my soft Born sandals. And I added my Julie Vos bracelet, necklace and earrings.

What I Wore Yesterday

Yesterday I ended up having to return to the mall to pick up some jeans I’d had hemmed at Nordstrom. I needed them for next Wednesday’s video on denim trends for fall 2023. So I opted to wear my linen skirt and a simple pink ribbed tank. I completed the outfit with my Tory Burch sandals and just my Kendra Scott Veronica hoops.

This outfit felt fresh and pretty. And it served me well when I needed to slip things off and on for trying on clothes. Yeah, I did that while I was at the mall, too. Hahaha! In fact I found some great wide leg jeans at Loft to share next week. They were (and are!) just $49. The wide leg jeans also come in curvy and fit true to size.

Well that’s it for my daily outfits. Thank you so much for stopping in. I hope you have a great day.

Blessed for My Day

Do you judge books by their covers? I sure do. I know that probably has kept me from reading some books that are actually quite good but simply have uninteresting covers. But really that’s no great loss. However, if we judge people by their “cover” we may misread them completely and make errors that do impact us and our relationships.

Let’s ask God to give us discernment and wisdom so that we see people the way He does. Especially when we’re choosing a leader (or putting ourselves under someone’s authority), selecting friends, hiring help or choosing someone to date, it’s important to look beyond the surface. And the surface is more than physical appearance. Let’s ask God to help us see beyond charm or charisma, shyness or introversion, and initial impressions to what really matters, like character and heart.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God does not see as man sees, since man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” ~ 1 Samuel 16:7

    1. I particularly like the black and white outfit on you- looks really sharp! Also today’s Blessed for my Day really resonated with me – more than once I have” judged a book ” only to learn quite quickly that I was totally wrong in that judgment. But I still have to remind myself not to do it!

  1. I love all your outfits but blessed for my day is my favorite part! You have a white blouse with a ruffled neck that I can’t find. It looks perfect to me! I am too fond of white blouses but the go with everything and they work for me. Thank you so much! You make this easy and fun!

    1. That’s very kind of you. Of course there are days when I never make it into a real outfit. But this Friday post does compel me to do my best to get dressed for my day!

  2. I love your pretty pale manicure. Looks so fresh and summery. Is it white or pink? Hard to tell from the photos. French tips? I know you have them professionally done, but can you recommend a favorite brand of polish?

  3. Hi Kay!

I’m 5’8″ also and my style is very similar to your style! I love all the outfits you wore this week! I was just watching your “How to style jeans and shoes over 50” youtube video from last fall. I was wondering if you think the lengths of pants have changed since last year? I want to try my best to look current.

    1. Cool! I’m actually sharing a couple of new videos this next week, both on jeans and the trends. Yes, I think the lengths are staying the same: both full length (and even puddles!) and ankle or crop lengths are very in.
