My golfing buddy and I have been talking for weeks now about meeting up for a game of golf once the weather gets better. I sure hope we haven’t missed our window of opportunity. It’s blazing hot here this week! But I’m sure we’ll get out on the links soon and hit the ball around. Make that balls! I tend to lose plenty of them as I go. I may not play very well, but I look good while I’m on the fairway. Ha! So today I’m sharing two sets of activewear that I think are perfect for golf or other activities you may enjoy during the summer.

Golf Outfit for Women
Everyday Polo Tee (wearing Medium; other colors available) // UPF Cargo Crops (TTS) // similar white leather platform sneakers // Ace Ribbed Visor // earrings // bracelet no longer available // watch (use code KAYHRMS for 15% off even if discounted)

Okay, so we’ll call these looks après golf outfits since I forgot my golf shoes on this day. And I do always wear sneakers or sports sandals to and from my golf outings. My sneakers are no longer available, but they are platform sneakers and I love that detail. These from Vans and these from Steve Madden are similar. With that out of the way, let’s move on to the rest of this outfit. I’m so pleased that both pieces are significantly marked down. Score!

Crop Pants

These white UPF Cargo Crops are so comfortable, silky soft and lots of stretch and movement. They fit great true to size. And the length is flattering without feeling hot. If you like to wear pants when playing golf, these are a great option. I would probably put balls and tees in the cargo pockets, but you could also slide one into your front pocket if needed. And of course it’s an added benefit that these lightweight crop pants feature ultraviolet protection. The UPF Cargo Crops are available in a full range of sizes and do come in petites. Today they are marked down 26%, but I suspect that is a temporary markdown.

Golf Outfit for Women

The same UPF Crop Pants from Chico’s are available in a bright and beautiful regatta blue or haute pink here. I would definitely consider buying another pair; they are that great. But I do find the white or alabaster Cargo Crops to be very versatile and I feel like they are a nice thickness.

Let’s move on to my top!

Everyday Polo Tee

This Everyday Polo Tee from Athleta is made from an ultra-lightweight performance fabric with a nice amount of stretch and breathability. It’s moisture-wicking, fast-drying and very comfortable. The Everyday Polo Tee also has a UPF 50+ rating. But I especially like the slim fit, the snap front and the hidden zipper pockets, perfect for tucking away a driver’s license or credit card, some tees or a lip balm, if needed.

Everyday Polo Tee (wearing Medium; other colors available) // UPF Cargo Crops (TTS) // similar white leather platform sneakers // Ace Ribbed Visor // earrings // bracelet no longer available // watch (use code KAYHRMS for 15% off even if discounted)

The Everyday Polo Tee in this quartz pink is selling out fast at a 33% off price, but it is available in other colors, including a pretty gulf green. Athleta also has an Everyday Polo Tank and another polo tee here. All of these tops have a slim fit. I’m wearing a medium comfortably and true to my usual size. But if you’d like a looser fit you might want to size up. I’m sharing another Everyday Polo Tee in dress blue in the next golf appropriate activewear outfit.

Golf outfit for women
Everyday Polo Tee // Brooklyn Skort 16″ // similar white leather platform sneakers // Ace Ribbed Visor // earrings // bracelet no longer available // watch (use code KAYHRMS for 15% off even if discounted)

I often play golf in skorts, and I especially like Athleta’s Skort selection. In fact, they have a whole selection of skorts and shorts that they’ve deemed best for tennis and golf. Of course, use your discretion. If you play golf you know you need pockets as well as comfort. But the Brooklyn Skort 16″ I’m wearing here definitely fits the bill. It isn’t too tight, feels soft and light and features nice pockets.

Skort with Pockets

I like the 16″ length of this lunaria yellow Brooklyn Skort. And even though this color alone is marked down 20%, it is still available in a full range of sizes. And Athleta truly offers a full range of sizes, from 0 to 26. You’ll also find longer skorts available at Athleta, such as the 18″ Fairway Skort.

Everyday Polo Tee

Again, I’m wearing the Everyday Polo Tee, this time in dress blue. I like the white trim on the collars of my polos, but the white and black options feature plain collars. I carried and wore the Ace Ribbed Visor in lunaria yellow, but it also comes in white and spring pink. It’s a one size fits all visor with an adjustable strap. It is moisture wicking.

I’m so thrilled that my quartz pink Everyday Polo Tee is marked down and still in stock in a few sizes, and my 16″ Brooklyn Skort in lunaria yellow is marked down and available in a full range of sizes. Athleta is definitely one of my go-to resources for athletic and travel clothes. They can be a little pricey, but the quality is worth it, especially since these are the clothes I move and sweat in.

I’m also pleased that the UPF Cargo Crops in alabaster and the similar Drawstring Crops in haute pink and regatta blue are temporarily marked down to a nice price, too. In fact, Chico’s also now has a good selection of their Zenergy line that they’ve designated as golf appropriate HERE. I especially like the polo dress, the sleeveless UPF polo and the UPF explorer skort. I have the green explorer skort and can tell you it fits great true to size and is so comfortable.

Blessed for My Day

My bet is that if you play golf or another similar sport such as tennis, pickle ball or hiking, you enjoy it because it helps you to unwind, laugh a little and move a little. I do feel tired after 18 holes, but I also feel lighter in some ways. Not only is activity good for us, but recreation is also important. So while I’m a firm believer in daily exercise, I also appreciate the benefits of more recreational sports.

You may not have time for it today, but why not make recreation a priority sometime this week? Schedule a tee time, reserve a court, map out a hike or find a line dancing group to meet up with. If we don’t prioritize recreation, it doesn’t happen. And when we don’t recreate, we find it harder to create…good work, healthy relationships, responsible habits. The road gets wearisome and life gets monotonous without a little recreation. It’s good for your body and important for your soul, too.

And the angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise and eat, for the journey is too great for you.” ~ 1 Kings 19:7

  1. Both outfits look so nice on you, Kay! I am actually looking for a pair of white comfortable pants right now, so the timing of this post is perfect. I will definitely check out the pants at Chico’s.

    1. Hahaha! My husband just showed me that. I think it was just a slip of the fingers on the keyboard. Fixed now!
