Hello and welcome to Dressed for My Day. It’s time for another YouTube video. And today I’m sharing some great ideas for what to wear at home (this summer) so you’ll be ready to go out the door at a moment’s notice.

What to Wear at Home so You're Ready to Go!

I want you to be dressed comfortably and appropriately for whatever you’re doing (or not doing!) at home, but also ready to dart out the door to grab lunch with a friend or pick up something cute at the mall. Let’s check out today’s video.

Shop the Video

You can always shop the pieces I’m wearing and sharing in the videos through the Description Box in the YouTube Channel viewing of the video. But I also try to have a shopping widget for you here. Unfortunately, I can’t link everything in the widget however. So it’s a good idea to check out the links on the video on YouTube if you’re interested in something in particular. Just click through to my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/c/DressedforMyDaywithKayHarms

Because I know some of you gals like to pin the looks to your Pinterest boards, I’ve created some graphics with each of the looks from today’s video. Unfortunately, the photo quality is not great because these are shots I captured from the videos. Don’t forget you can also save today’s video to your YouTube channel!

Do you have friends or co-workers or family members who you believe are living outside of God’s parameters for life? Sure you do. We all do. Truth be told, we’re all sinners in need of a savior. But it can be hard to resist judging those who are willfully living contrary to God’s commands.

Let’s remember that Jesus loves every single person. And while we may be deeply disturbed by someone’s lifestyle, God is much more concerned about their eternal destination. He longs to draw them into a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus. When we’re tempted to wag our fingers at someone else’s life choices (even in our heads) let’s choose instead to show them the love of God.

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. ~ John 3:17

Spread the love
xoxo, Kay

  1. Great video. Do you our hair ad makeup most days to a “willing to be seen in public” level? In the new work from home model I am experiencing I look tidy and maintained but not full hair and make up.

    1. Hi Catherine. Thanks for watching. You know, I don’t do my hair and makeup every day right now, but I’ve noticed that when I don’t I sometimes miss out on opportunities I otherwise could have enjoyed and benefitted from. For instance, yesterday I was working so long and hard on this video that I never managed to get my hair and makeup done. I had on a cute little dress, so I looked presentable, but when it came time for my small group from church to meet on a Zoom conference call, I didn’t attend. I worked until 11 last night so technically I was still working and busy. But I might have taken the time to attend the Zoom gathering if I’d done my makeup. ?

  2. Another great video filled with so many great ideas! Thanks Kay! I will look forward to your next video!

  3. Hi Kay, I enjoyed today’s video. Such a relevant topic for me as I teach adults outside of my home (usually), but often come home in between lessons for an hour or two, so I always have to be ready to head back out again. I have a question. What bracelet are you wearing on your right wrist in the video? It looks like it’s gold with a little tassle or something. Thanks.

  4. Very helpful video. Do you ever wear your white denim jacket with white jeans or shorts? I have both and have been debating. I would probably wear a bright or print top with them. Thanks so much for all you do. I think your videos just keep getting better!

    1. I say put them on, take some mirror selfies and, if YOU like what you see, go for it! I’ve worn my white jeans and white blazer and that’s not much different. ?

  5. Great video lesson today! Liked all of the looks. So cute, so stylish.
Thanks for BFMD and the reminder to love not judge.
    Have a great day, Kay!

  6. Your videos are the best! I need the music when I get dressed in the morning! I love your music choices and the addition of music! This video inspired me as they all have. I had to run out to the garden center after I watched the video and put on accessories and my nicest sunglasses, carried a cute purse and felt so much better than just running out as I was!

  7. Wonderful video, thank you for all the great ideas. Thank you for all your hard work. Hope you have a wonderful day.

  8. Hi Kay, Great video today! I liked the outfit ideas. I have been working from home and this inspired me to make more effort to be ready to go. Thanks Kay!

  9. I have the alpha male type of husband who wants me to drop everything and go with him somewhere so I have to get ready in a hurry if I want to go with him. These outfits are perfect for that. I don’t wear shorts but easy to copy with pants. Love the pink and blue touches you add like the flip flops here or the light blue sneakers in former posts,

  10. Great post and video!
I really enjoy your encouragement and you have such a lovely manner and a beautiful smile!
Thank you and God bless you.

  11. This was a fun video to watch, especially the fast-paced demonstrations! I‘m wondering about your opinion of the BR Ecovero wrap top. It looks very cute & I’ve ordered it. Did you keep it? Are you pleased with the fit and how it washes? Does it require pressing?
    Thanks!
    Kay

    1. Hi Kay. Yes, I did keep it. I like it. I probably won’t put it in the dryer and my bet is it will not need pressing if I hang it up. Thanks for watching. ?

  12. I loved the outfits! Christopher & Banks is my favorite store in our town! I am almost 72 and I like the fact that they have clothes for the older woman that don’t look frumpy! I still work 30 hours a week and like to look nice and put together, your ideas help a lot!
I love the scriptures you share and look forward to all of your posts. God bless you!

  13. You are so creative with your videos, I enjoy them so much. Each picture told a story of what you were doing when you got the call to go out! Love that!

  14. Hi Kay, I haven’t had a chance to watch any of your videos yet, but plan to play catch up today. I am looking forward to it!! I love this post. I have been going to work through all of this, wearing business casual, so I appreciate all of your posts that help me put outfits together. I love your style, and am your height, and similar size, so I find your posts very helpful. We had a friend drop in yesterday afternoon, so I was running for the bedroom to throw on a bra, and a little blush, so when I opened your post this morning, I found it very relevant :-)! Our church here in MN is opening back up today, but we are choosing to watch it on YouTube. We both have jobs where we work with vulnerable adults, and we don’t want to take the chance of bringing it to work. I am curious how everyone else is dealing with things opening back up?? Take care, thanks for all your posts. God bless you and your family.

    1. Hi Cindy. Thanks for sharing. I love hearing from you gals. I don’t respond to all comments just because of time, but I absolutely read and delight over all of them. Anyhow, I think that’s such a cute story about the friend dropping in yesterday. Hahaha! Yes, that’s exactly the point of the video. ?? But I’m as guilty as the next gal when it comes to getting dressed some days. I ran into Talbots yesterday just to pick up a pair of shorts so I didn’t put on any makeup. But then I saw all their new clothes – they’re not even on their website yet – and ended up photographing a try on session. Ha! Unfortunately I won’t look great in those pictures ?.

We haven’t started having services at church yet but probably will in a couple of weeks. But I think that is so wise of you and your husband to stay home. We’re definitely going to continue our online services indefinitely too for that reason. Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday!
