I’m traveling to sunny Arizona today for a work trip that we’ve combined with a little family fun. I want to provide you with lots of spring outfit inspiration, but it’s just too cold to shoot warm weather outfits in Cincinnati anytime soon. So I’ve packed two suitcases full of clothes and accessories (so many shoes!) to create dozens of spring outfits in a warmer climate. But I’ve also packed my day-to-day outfits for our family fun in one carry-on suitcase and a tote. Since many of you may be planning warm weather getaways right now, too, I want to share with you what I packed for a spring getaway in my carry-on luggage.

James and I will be working off and on for the next 8 days, photographing and videoing spring outfits for the blog and YouTube channel. But my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter are joining us at our VRBO for a good portion of the trip. We’ll hike a lot, visit the Tucson Zoo, attend a couple of University of Arizona basketball games (where my kids earned their degrees), eat foods we’ve missed since moving away from Arizona six years ago and just relax and enjoy the warmer weather. So I’ve packed outfits for a very casual, warm weather getaway with family.
What I Packed
I wasn’t able to create a style board with my travel outfit, but I’m wearing these green track pants with my navy and white striped long sleeve tee and either my denim jacket or my new navy trench coat, depending on how things come together. I’m wearing my Tretorn sneakers and I have everything packed in this Away carry-on suitcase and this Everywhere bag.

In Wednesday’s YouTube video I’ll be sharing some of my capsule, although I didn’t end up packing everything I shared in that video. But I am looking forward to wearing some of my new linen from Frank & Eileen. But I’ve also packed fun, cool separates from Talbots and J.Crew.

I packed a lot of shoes in my other suitcases for the photo and video shoots. But I tried to keep my selection for this capsule wardrobe smaller. I had to take my hiking shoes, so they took up a lot of room. But I also had room for a pair of sandals and my boat shoes.

I have hiking clothes for warm weather and cooler. You really never know how cool it might get in the desert. But we’re pretty seasoned at hiking these mountains, so I feel confident that we’ll know how to dress when it’s time to set out on the trail.
Be sure to download the LTK app and follow me in my LTK Shop for first glimpses at my everyday outfits. I’ll be sharing there first and then, as we have time, to Instagram. I’ll also have a How I Really Dressed for My Day post on Friday, so you’ll get a glimpse at some of my outfits there.

Blessed for My Day
In my experience anxiety begins as a singular worry. A thought of doom occurs to me, but instead of speaking truth over that thought and causing it to flee, I entertain it. Remember the children’s book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? Long story short, the cookie is just a beginning; it never ends there. The same can be said of a fear or dread or worry. If entertained, the mole hill becomes a mountain, and before long it looms ahead of you like an insurmountable challenge or obstacle.
On the other hand… If you take that singular worry to the Lord and pray about it, He’ll direct you to His Word. And if you allow the Bible to address it, you’ll see that mountain shrink to the size of a mole hill. And you, sweet friend, can step right over a mole hill. You have a choice today. Will you entertain a worry? Or will you show it the door and focus instead on the One in whom you trust?
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. ~ Isaiah 26:3
