Happy Monday, dear friends! Spring is fast approaching, so I thought it would be fun to provide a little style inspiration with outfit boards. These will help us get our imaginations and creative juices flowing as we anticipate building spring outfits.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
I actually have a lot of the items I included in our Dressed for My Day Spring Capsule Wardrobe in suitcases ready to take to sunny Arizona. It’s be way to cold for me to model them here in Cincinnati, but I’m heading to a warmer climate to shoot lots of outfit ideas for you. I’m so excited to get some spring outfits up on the website!

I wrote a blog post last week with 7 Tips to Help Plan Your Spring Wardrobe, and I featured this spring capsule above. If you haven’t read it, go back! It’s a must-read. And you can get all the links to the entire capsule wardrobe as well as more moderately priced alternatives in that post. But below I’m styling items from my DFMD Spring Capsule Wardrobe for you. Items used in each board are linked in the captions, so you can shop them there if you’d like.
Everyday Fun
Below are some fun options for everyday outfits this spring. Remember, it’s all about layers this time of year, especially if you live in a place where the temperatures swing significantly through the day.

Make sure you have the jeans you need to create elevated, but easy outfits for spring. I shared more details about shopping for spring denim in this recent YouTube video below.
Trending Colors for Spring 2025
This spring navy is the neutral to wear. I’m seeing it everywhere. We ladies of a certain age tend to enjoy swapping in navy for black, so it’s a good time to shine in this classic neutral.

Pair navy with more navy, white, ivory, trending light pink, yellow, green, the options are endless!
Polished Perfection
Sometimes the trends are in the details. Right now, buttons are trending. I know, I know. It’s a detail. But I’m seeing more and more polo collars, button-up shirts, classic shirt dresses and sweaters with button accents.

Actually, details help you create a more polished outfit. So incorporate your favorite button-up top or dress into your wardrobe for spring.
Spring is for Pastels
It’s certainly appropriate to add some bold colors to your wardrobe at this time of year. But in 2025 soft pastels are very on trend. I’ve added a soft pink cashmere tee and a buttery yellow sweatshirt to my spring wardrobe.

I love pairing pastels like these with white jeans, but blue denim works well, too.
Seeing Red
Add a bold splash of red to an outfit for spring. No need to overdo it. Just a little red against that trending navy or ivory will look bright and beautiful.

Watch next week’s YouTube video for tips on wearing all kinds of prints this spring.
Keep it Soft and Simple
This year we’re seeing a little more glamor and feminine touches. But you don’t have to overdo those to get the desired effect. Keep the rest of the outfit simple and soft.

Thanks so much for stopping in today. I look forward to bringing you more spring style inspiration in the weeks to come. I do believe – or so they tell me – that we have gotten the comment feed fixed. So I’d love to hear from you if you would like to JOIN THE CONVERSATION.

Blessed for My Day
Do you ever feel like you are at a dead end? Either things have not panned out as you planned or your plans ended up leaving you feeling unfulfilled. Some days I feel that way, even though I’ve lived a very fulfilling and lovely life. I think it’s common to occasionally feel bored or dissatisfied with our lives. But more likely than not these feeling arise when we take our eyes off the Lord and forget to be grateful.
Here’s what I know. God has good plans for you. He has had good plans for you all along. You may have traveled mountain peaks and valleys, through sunshine and storms, but God has been there all along the way. And He wants you to have hope. When despondency or dissatisfaction sneaks in, stop it at the door of your heart. Put your hope in God, seek Him and follow.
For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. ~ Jeremiah 29:11-13
I love this post, Kay!
I love navy and stripes so much totally on board. I love the inspiration boards. I may need a trench coat. Enjoy your trip!
Thanks, Rita.
