My husband and I usually go out for dinner or lunch on another day before or after the red letter day. And on Valentine’s Day we opt for takeout from a favorite restaurant or even cooking a meal together. We might watch a favorite movie or play a board game in the evening.

So on Valentine’s Day I generally dress casually, but I do like to wear something that gives a nod to the celebration of love. And I don’t shy away from pink or red because I happen to love those colors…and my closet is full of them! But of course you can “dress the part” without wearing either.

The outfit I’m wearing here is one I shared last year in this blog post. So these exact pieces are not available. But I’ve shared similar options in the Valentine’s Day outfit inspiration boards below. I’ve linked all of those items in the captions underneath each board. And I also have a shopping widget at the bottom of the post with these and other ideas.
Valentine’s Day Casual Outfit Inspiration
I do in fact have the beautiful Liberty of London print shirt below, and will probably wear it this Valentine’s Day. It works beautifully with favorite jeans and a variety of different shoes. Add a pullover sweater if the weather requires it.

And I also have the denim ruffle collar shirt above. I think adding a romantic touch to your outfit is another nice way to dress for Valentine’s Day. Pair it with white jeans and add a red or pink print scarf for a festive touch.

The rollneck sweaters above are both 100% cotton, so they’re a great addition to your wardrobe going into spring. I love the marled colors, which give them even more versatility. Wear them with favorite jeans and comfortable shoes for lunch with your sweetheart or coffee with friends.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your grandkids in one of the comfortable jeans outfits above. They’re smart and polished, but also cheerful and comfortable. But if you need Valentine’s Day outfit inspiration for a nice lunch out or dinner date, check out the dress combinations below.

I’ve rounded up these items and other available options in the shopping boutique below. In the comments, let me know if you have special plans for this sweet day. I’d love to hear if you dress up a bit or not.

Blessed for My Day
Our thoughts are powerful. They influence our words, our demeanor and our actions. We may believe that our emotions set the tone for our day, but in fact our thoughts have the power to guide our emotions. If we can change the direction of our thoughts, we can lift ourselves out of the doldrums, cease from our anger, stop fretting and put an end to that growing jealousy.
But how can you get control over your thoughts in order to steer your emotions? I’ve found that Philippians 4:8 provides the road map. I can start by choosing to think only those things that are based completely in truth. Then I raise my thoughts even more by only dwelling on that which is honorable. Next I filter out thoughts that are wrong or impure. And then I lift them higher by focusing on that which is lovely, commendable and excellent.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
LOVE Philippians 4:8 so timely. Thanks for the reminder. Have a blessed day. Be careful of all the ice! My daughter lives in so. Ohio. I live up here in NE Ohio, we have 12″+ of snow and it is cold!
Indeed. Thanks so much for your concern. I’m still and Georgia, but James says he got some pretty snow in Cincy. We’ve thawed out here, but it is very cold indeed. 🩷
My Pastor just taught a sermon series on Phil 4:4- the end of the chapter. Yesterday we finish up on this verse. Our minds are so powerful. Stay warm.
Absolutely. Thank you, Kathy.
Our Sunday school class is watching and studying a video called Taming Your Thoughts. Romans 12:2 about renewing the mind is another verse I turn to. I like pink for Valentines. I love the purse brooch. I wish they would showed it on a lapel.
Yes, I was wishing for a better view of that brooch, too. I’m sure it’s darling. Thanks for sharing about your study. Sounds great!
