I know many of my readers enjoy the spirited fashions and “real woman fit” from Chico’s. I do, too! Since they’re running an online only Flash Sale today with 25% off new styles + $50 off your $200+ purchase, I thought it would be a great day to share my new favorites from Chico’s.

A Pretty Pairing from Chico’s

Chico’s is one of those retailers that actually caters to women “of a certain age.” And if we’re not careful, we can build a wardrobe from Chico’s that screams, “older woman.”

But, as with shopping at any of our favorite stores, we can indeed selectively incorporate their statement-worthy garments into our wardrobes stylishly and effectively. I always recommend building your wardrobe from a wide selection of brands that resonate with you rather than just one or two.

Because many of Chico’s styles do include embellishments and details that draw focus, I think it’s important to also look for those more subtle options. If Chico’s pants fit you well, use their more classic fits and styles such as these cotton straight ankle trousers or these straight leg trousers as the foundation for a more personality driven top or jacket.

Or if you love their statement pants, like these mod cropped pants, or their embellished jeans, like these boyfriend patchwork cropped jeans, then top them with something more understated. Yes, if your personal style is more flamboyant you can certainly go head to toe glitz and glitter. But most of us will probably prefer a little balance in our outfits, with a statement piece that serves as the focal point and supporting classic selections.

In my outfit, the metallic turtleneck pullover sweater and double breasted tweed jacket with metallic accents woven in serve as the focal point. So I’ve worn modern but classic jeans and boots that don’t compete with the top of my outfit, but set it off nicely. I’ve also kept my jewelry simple but impactful.

My jacket and metallic turtleneck pullover sweater are from the previous collection and are significantly marked down. They fit nicely true to size. But I’ve collected my favorites from Chico’s newer styles in the shopping boutique below. You may have seen me wear a few of the Zenergy pieces from these favorites in this recent YouTube video. All three pieces fit me true to size. Don’t forget to check out their jewelry as well. I’ve included a few of my favorites from Chico’s in the collection below.

Blessed for My Day

We might like to blame our jealousies on the injustice of someone else having what they don’t really deserve. We look around and see that someone is prospering, and we determine that they are not worthy. We feel jealous that they are receiving what we feel we deserve and they do not. If only justice prevailed we’d have no reason to feel jealous, we reason.

But jealousy doesn’t begin with coveting what someone else has. It starts with discontentment. When we do not fully appreciate what we have been blessed with, our eyes roam to what others have. If we feel like we have been shorted in some way, we focus on the surplus that someone else has. The solution isn’t just in taking our eyes off of others, although that is certainly recommended. But we’ll truly begin to heal from our jealousies when we cultivate a grateful heart by counting our own blessings and thanking the Lord for them.

And his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers; andย so they hated him and could not speak to him on friendly terms…And his brothers were jealous of him… ~ Genesis 37:4,11a

  1. I purchase items from Chico’s from time to time. Yes, you have to be careful to not look frumpy, but I purchased this adorable olive green blazer this Fall from them and it is so cute and styled so adorable. I am trying hard not to order any blazers for a while, thought this tweed is so cute. I have so many blazers. It is nice that your and James can drive to Georgia again so soon to watch your granddaughter. You are so blessed. Have a great time.

  2. I love that tweed blazer! It looks so nice with the turtleneck and jeans. Safe travels on your way to Georgia, and enjoy the time with your granddaughter!

  3. Enjoy your time with your granddaughter. Always fun to have the grands alone. Different dynamic. Safe travels. How far is the drive?

  4. You do a great job incorporating a select few of Chico’s typically bold choices into a cohesive, modern but understated look. You’re right, worn alone head to toe, their clothing either gives off a over-blinged vibe or a frumpy vibe. Today’s outfit would rank as one of my favorites for you. ๐Ÿ™‚ While not dominant in my closet, I do have a few nice pieces from them: tops with texture, and unembellished bottoms.

  5. I chuckled at your older woman comment. That’s one reason I don’t have anything from Chicos. Also I’m petite and their clothes run big. I do like the jacket and how you styled it. I have seen jeans from Chicos I liked but my size is always seems to be sold out.
