I’ve been holding today’s photos for a couple of weeks now waiting for these pieces to go on sale. And Bingo! Just yesterday Ann Taylor announced their Suit Yourself Event with 30% off their full-price suiting. Not only do I love the summer suit I’m sharing with you today, but I’ve rounded up so many other gorgeous options from Ann Taylor. So whether you need suits for work or you, like me, love opting for a pretty suit for other dressy occasions, you’re going to love the two ways I’ve styled this sweet summer suit.

SALE ALERT: Be sure to use code SUITUP at Ann Taylor to get 30% off full-priced suiting, which includes the items I’ve shown here as well as others I’m sharing below. And use code STYLE25 for 25% off other select items, including the linen shirt and other things in the shopping widget below. This offer is valid just through May 19, and sizes are going fast.
Don’t you just love the pretty vivid sky blue in these plaid Lana slim pants and the coordinating plaid Greenwich Blazer? And I paired the suit with a mixed media pleat front top in vivid sky, too.

The plaid Lana slim pant fits true to size; I’m wearing a size 10 with a little room. I might could have sized down to an 8, but I don’t think I even tried them. However, I’m very happy with the fit of this slim fit straight leg ankle length pant. And I love the high waist (the website says they hit an inch below the true waist, but I think that should read one inch above the true waist). These pants also come in a curvy fit and in petite sizing.

I decided to add a little more color to this outfit with the vivid sky blue mixed media pleat front top. But this pant and blazer combo would look even more elevated with a white shell or this baby blue one. And I’ve rounded up some other pretty options in the shopping widget below.

Please note, the plaid Greenwich blazer runs quite large. I sized down to a 6, and it fits very comfortably. I know it’s supposed to be an oversized fit, but the fabric is so thick (not hot; just thick) that I think it looks massive unless you size down.

I completed the outfit with my simple but impactful Julie Vos jewelry and flesh toned accessories. I carried my Kate Spade Hudson convertible bag and wore my Karl Lagerfeld pumps. But these woven mesh slingbacks from Ann Taylor would be another great option, and they are 30% off, too.

I will also wear the plaid Lana slim pants with my white linen blazer. I had it in the car to wear for these photos, but I forgot to take those shots. But if you’re looking to just buy one piece of this separates set, I’d opt for those plaid Lana slim pants and wear them with a white blazer. So sharp and fresh.
You’ll also be able to wear the plaid Lana slim pants more casually.

Next I styled the plaid Lana slim pants with a linen shirt and tank. I think this is a great elevated casual look for a luncheon or other occasion.

For a more casual vibe I switched in my nude heeled slides for this outfit. These pretty sandals are so comfortable, but the nude color helps elongate the leg and keep that visual line uninterrupted. They’re also available in black, gold, ivory and lime green. The slides fit true to size.

I also switched in Abby’s crochet round handle tote. My ratan white trim satchel would have worked well here, too, but I guess I just chose this bag on a whim. Anyhow, both are 30% off right now and equally lovely options for summer.

Of course the beautiful, bright vivid sky linen shirt also pairs nicely with white shorts, skirt or pants. It fits true to size, as does the reversible tank I’m wearing underneath.

Fear is such a pervasive threat to our wellbeing that God addresses it over and over in His Word. He knows we are prone to feelings of inadequacy, timidity, discouragement and anxiety. And I don’t think our fearfulness puts God off; I think it draws Him in. He desires to help us get through our fears so that we can walk in bold obedience to Him and live fruitful lives.
Today fear may be keeping you from having a conversation you know you need to initiate. Or it may be stopping you from moving forward in a new endeavor, trying something new, pivoting in your career, going somewhere you’ve never been or beginning again something you once gave up on. Fear also may just be making you miserable. If we don’t allow God to help us through our fears, they can lead to discouragement then defeat and despair, and ultimately to disobedience. If fear has stopped you in your tracks, tell the Lord so. And allow Him to speak healing truth over the lies that are holding you captive.
The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. ~ Judges 6:11
I love the crochet handbag. I picked it up after Abby styled it. So cute and fresh for summer. I’m am retired now so I don’t have a need for a suit. But the handbag fits my casual style.
Hi Kay! Love your posts! I was wondering if you would ever wear the blazer with different bottoms? Maybe, white or another solid color of pants? And for a skirt, would you go with just a straight skirt? I would love to find a linen blend skirt for summer. Not overly dressy. Does that make sense?
I have a pink tweed suit that I love (I don’t care that some consider tweed out of style), and would love to break it up occasionally.
Thanks again for sharing!
Absolutely. I think I mentioned in the post that I’d wear the pants with my white linen blazer, but I’d certainly do the converse, too. And Ann Taylor does have a beautiful white linen skirt here https://rstyle.me/+WqRZ-ZwCrcJZobmHh2iebw and a couple of white linen dresses. One is here https://rstyle.me/+djT0UKpveLPylzAtpx_7aw
Thank you for your message about fear. Just what I needed for today and also one of the big needs I have for this time.
I feel the suit prints are too busy. Not everyone can carry it.
