This spring we’re seeing the color green everywhere. “Well of course, Kay! It’s spring!” But it’s not just the green springing forth from trees and fields and the yards in your neighborhood. All shades of green are showing up in fashions for the season. Most everyone can find a shade that works, from olive to apple to to lime and English pea green, choose the one that works for you and style the IT color of spring 2024!

Other colors are also on trend this spring as well, of course, but green is the color we are seeing in a full range of tones and shades. And I do think it looks so fresh and cheerful. Green, in fact, conveys health, growth, youth and friendliness when we wear it.

Green Linen-Blend Pants

Today I’m sharing two ways to style the IT color of 2024, one with the color up close to the face and the other with green pants. Let’s start with these darling green pintucked linen-stretch slim-leg pants from J.Jill.

Green Linen-Blend Pants

It may feel a little bold to wear a pair of bright green pants at first. But honestly I think it’s one of the easiest ways to sport the IT color of Spring 2024. You have so many choices for what to wear up top, close to your face. I chose to pair these 55% linen, 42% viscose rayon and 3% spandex woven crop length pants with a youthful, modern graphic tank top in navy and a lightweight white double-breasted jacket. By the way, the pintucked linen-stretch slim-leg pants definitely run large. I generally size down in tops and dresses at J.Jill, but almost always need a medium pants. These are the mediums and they’re quite roomy, but I’m okay with it. I’d say if you border between two sizes, go down.

modern tank

The graphic tank top is so modern and adds a bit of whimsy to this outfit. I picked it up at Evereve, where you can always find very current styles. It runs true to size; I’m wearing a medium. I love that this muscle tank has rib knit trim along the neckline, shoulders, and side paneling. It’s a slightly cropped length so you can leave it untucked or tuck it in like I did here.

The lightweight white double-breasted jacket and scarf are also both from J.Jill. I decided instead of investing in another traditional linen blazer this summer, I’d get this 82% cotton, 16% linen and 2% spandex woven one. I think it’s so sporty and elevated, but still casual. I sized down to a small in this jacket. And J.Jill always has beautiful scarves. This one ties the elements in my outfit together beautifully.

What do you think? Would you wear green pants? I love them! But the pintucked linen-stretch slim-leg pants also come in black, navy/blueberry, white, zinc grey and a darling classic blue/cream check. The waistband is flat in the front and elasticized in back for all day comfort and a flat front. And they do have belt loops, too, so you could always add a belt if needed or desired.

Let’s check out my second way to style the IT color of spring 2024.

Style the IT Color of Spring 2024
wide leg linen pants // reversible tank in indigo/white // cropped linen jacket in simply green // sun shower brooch // earrings (c/o) // tote no longer available (alternative) // sandals

I’m extremely excited about the wide leg linen pants in this outfit, but first let’s talk about the green hero piece: the cropped linen jacket. I love this color that Talbots has called simply green. A little more toward a Kelly green than the cropped pants above, this green works well close to the face for me since I have light green eyes. I’d say it has more blue undertones, whereas the pants above have a more yellow cast.

cropped linen jacket

I’m wearing a size misses 8 in the cropped linen jacket, which is the lower of my two normal sizes. While this jacket fits beautifully worn buttoned or unbuttoned, I’m a little disappointed that the sleeves are very plain with no button cuff detail. But the darts in the front and princess seams in the back give this lined jacket a very flattering fit. It’s also available in taupe/white (or natural linen).

Under the cropped linen jacket I’m wearing a reversible tank I got last year from Talbots and they have it again this year. This is a closet staple that sees a lot of action in my wardrobe. You could also wear a solid white tank here for a column of white under the simply green cropped linen jacket. And isn’t that sun shower brooch on my lapel darling? I get questions about brooches frequently and, yes, they’re actually very in style, especially the slightly whimsical ones like Talbots generally carries.

White linen pants

Now let’s talk about these white wide leg linen pants. I LOVE them. They have a modern but still classic silhouette, they’re fully lined in the softest lightest polyester and they have functional pockets. I went with my larger of two sizes, a 10, for a more relaxed fit since these are white pants. But they also come in rattan, indigo blue and lavender tulip (which has this stunning belted vest to match) HERE.

These outfits were primarily comprised of pieces from J.Jill, Talbots, Evereve and Veronica Beard. Right now at Talbots you’ll get 25% off your entire purchase, but you can get 40% off one highest priced item with code RSVP. You can use that code on multiple orders, by the way.

Thanks so much for stopping in for a little style inspiration with the IT color of Spring 2024. If you have any questions about what I’ve shown please let me know in the comments. Blessed for My Day

At this time of year it’s our custom to reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made when He willingly laid down His life for ours. I believe the Scriptures teach us that two things compelled Him to take each step that He took to the cross: love for and obedience to the Father as well as love for us. For the joy set before Him, Jesus endured the shame and pain of the cross. And in doing so He reconciled us to God – a task we could never accomplish on our own. Praise be to God!

If you are having to walk in utter obedience today, consider how Jesus did the same. Even though He had full knowledge of what lay ahead, He was able to put one foot in front of another because of His love for the Father and His love for us. Let that same love motivate you today. And rest in the assurance that one day the joy will come.

Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. ~ Hebrews 12:1-3

  1. All the outfits are very nice. Love the crop blazer and the tank. Also like the white pants. Green is my favorite color. I like all shades except pastel shades which don’t suit my skin. I bought bright green crop flare jeans last year. I was thinking of donating because I found them hard to style. You’ve given me styling ideas that I may just keep them.

  2. I like the green jacket, but not the pants. I really love the wrap vest and matching pants and I am thinking of wearing them to my high school class reunion with some metallic sandals.

  3. Hi Kay! You look so spring-inspired and fresh in all these outfits! Yay! Green! I just purchased a pair of true green (think:Crayola Crayon) high-waisted, strait-legged pants that I am pairing with a black blouse that has embroidered flowers across the neckline.

  4. You look so vibrant in those shades of green 💚Both outfits look so good , my favourite is that gorgeous green short jacket( would suit my colouring better) and the white pants are beautiful .So pleased you styled both outfits with shades of navy , I think greens and blues look so good together💚💙Thank you Kay . And Thank you also for the BFMD♥️

  5. I love the second outfit! I can easily adapt it for the shade of green that looks best on me. 🙂

First outfit, I really dig the pin tuck pants, but I can’t do the crop length. And yes, I would totally wear green pants – in fact, I might be able to pull off that specific green, as it looks yellowish.

I appreciate your outfit ideas. I just adapt them to fit my personal style, my seasonal palette, and my budget. 🙂

  6. Love your green pants! I bought a pair of Kelly green pants last fall from Ann Taylor. I purchased the Kelly green linen blazer when you showed it on Instagram the other day And I got it today all ready. I’m
too a little disappointed that the sleeves are so p!ain, but I too think it is a really cute blazer. A keeper. Love what you are wearing today. You look so cute and put together. Nice BFMD.

  7. Hi Kay, Love the green linen short blazer.
I’m the grandma that has a grandbaby in Tampa, Florida. His parents sent a Boarderie cheese and Charcuterie board for Christmas. We sure enjoyed it and you made a good choice. Your kids will have fun with it. The company includes a card with pictures letting you know what everything is.
    Happy Easter. 🐣 KZ

    1. Hi Karen, my son sent us a video of opening his Boarderie board and everything looked wonderful. He was quite pleased and I was, too. They’re planning to save it for their weekly board game night on Wednesday and, according to the info, it should keep well until then. We’ll see! Thanks for sharing. 💕
