With Easter fast approaching, I think we all can agree that warm weather will indeed arrive soon…even if it’s still cold or even snowy outside today. So I’m getting ready for outdoor entertaining, back porch relaxing and even brunching and lunching alfresco with Nordstrom Rack. I’ve found some easy, breezy spring and summer maxi dresses from this favorite retailer that I can’t wait to share with you.
Maxi dresses are really trending this year. This is great news for those of us who enjoy wearing dresses, but don’t feel particularly great about our legs. I’ve selected three lovely spring and summer maxi dresses in three different colors and silhouettes.
And this soft, oh so comfortable cotton blend drawstring waist maxi dress is perfect for back porch entertaining or just relaxing around your home. And of course you can wear it out and about, too. The cotton blend maxi dress comes in a couple of other equally soft and charming colors. It fits true to size.
I finished off this one-and-done outfit with these lovely Eileen Fisher espadrille wrap sandals. These designer brand espadrilles would be out of my price zone, but at Nordstrom Rack I consistently find the brands I love at more affordable prices, up to 70% off. These espadrilles come in a few other colors, but I’m wearing the latte, which is closest to my skin tone. They run true to size.
To head out to brunch with friends in this cornflower blue cotton blend maxi dress, I’d take along this Caslon classic denim jacket. It’s lighter weight than my other one, so it’s perfect for spring and summer. I also like that it has a bit of stretch in it. The denim jacket runs true to size and comes in two different washes.
When I want to add accessories to my outfits, I immediately think of Nordstrom Rack. They have great prices on designer brand shoes, handbags, hats and jewelry. So I can pull together a complete look without busting my budget.
This Matt & Nat flap hobo bag is such a pretty mojito green, but it also comes in a lovely lake blue. This faux leather bag has an adjustable strap, so I can carry it as a crossbody while shopping a favorite antique store or wear it close under my arm while heading to the restaurant.
Honestly, I think this Center Seam Slub Tank Dress is my favorite of the three I’m sharing today. And that surprised me since I’m not all that fond of my upper arms.
But when it comes to looking pretty and feeling good in an easy summer dress, I just can’t resist this magenta pink center seam slub tank dress. I think the silhouette of this 100% slub cotton dress is surprisingly flattering. It runs true to size and comes in two other spring-worthy colors, too.
I completed this look with some flesh toned sandals by Naturalizer. They are sooo comfortable. These Naturalizers are similar and available at Nordstrom Rack. Truly comfortable footwear can be so expensive, but at Nordstrom Rack I always find the brands that deliver both comfort and style at affordable prices. Check out more of their spring and summer sandals in well known comfort brands here.
I also got my pretty gold jewelry at Nordstrom Rack. In fact, I was able to buy higher quality pieces than I would elsewhere because they always have better values at Nordstrom Rack. My medallion necklace is gold plated and looks substantial and elevated. And my paper clip necklace is gold plated sterling silver. It’s a great everyday necklace for spring and summer. My earrings are no longer available, but I have these Kendra Scott earrings and love them. And, while my bracelet set is also no longer available, I think these similar bracelets are just as pretty.
This black tiered maxi dress has a lovely drape and a slightly elevated feel, thanks to the 95% polyester, 5% spandex blend fabric composition. It doesn’t wrinkle at all and has just a bit of sheen.
I also wore black sandals with my dress. These Sam Edelman Vena wedge slide sandals are comfortable with just the slightest heel. They also come in a gold/beige mixture and an almond patent leather. They fit true to size.
Because I was shopping Nordstrom Rack, I was able to find a trending Trina Turk floral canvas tote bag. I love how this large colorful floral canvas tote adds some brightness and texture to my outfit.
I also added a pop of color and brightness with my bold plastic hoop earrings. I’ve learned that, since I don’t especially want to draw a lot of attention to my neck, wearing statement earrings is smarter for me than adding a statement necklace. Plus they bring the attention up to my eyes, where I prefer it. These plastic hoop earrings are lightweight and come in other fun colors, too.

Blessed for My Day
I have good news, and I have bad news. Which do you want first? Don’t you just hate that preamble? I don’t like bad news. But when the good news cancels out the bad, well that’s different! And that’s exactly the case in Romans chapter 3 of the Bible.
Paul reminds us that, bad news, all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Make no mistake about it, people are not generally good. We are all sinners in desperate need of a savior. And the good news? Blessedly, it absolutely cancels out the sorrow of the bad news. For we all have the opportunity to be made right with God because of His lavish grace shown to us through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Now that is good news. And that is why we approach Good Friday with the weight of the bad news, but also with the reassuring hope of the good news. Amen!
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. ~ Romans 3:23-24
