Happy Friday! I’m trying to get back on track with posting my daily outfits weekly. But I may switch these to Mondays. Hmmm. Anyhow, today I am indeed sharing my recent early spring outfits. I think one of the reasons I’ve drug my feet a bit on this post is because I wish my outfits were more “spring-y” than they are. It’s been cold here! At any rate, let’s do this!

Sizing Information

Just for reference, I’m 5’8″ and weigh about 155. I generally wear a size 8 or medium in dresses, tops, jackets and pants (or 29 or 30 in jeans), so that’s what I’m wearing in these looks unless I tell you otherwise. That way you can assume everything I show you is true to size unless I alert you to sizing up or down. I wear a size 9.5 shoe and, again, I’ll just let you know if I sized up or down in a shoe, otherwise it’s true to size.

Recent Daily Outfits for Early Spring

I guess I could go back and look on my phone to find out what days I wore these outfits, but that would provide little more than a day. Really, the past week and a half is a blur to me. But let’s assume I just wore these outfits to work from home – which is what I do most days – unless I tell you otherwise.

White Jeans & Sweater

I feel like I’ve definitely at least worn this style formula if not these exact jeans several times in recent weeks. So I probably just neglected to take photos some days. During spring I like to pull out my white jeans and pair them with lighter colored and lighter weight sweaters. This striped collared v-neck sweater has been a favorite this early spring. It runs true to size and is currently marked down significantly.

I paired the striped collared v-neck sweater with my classic white straight leg jeans. I wear a curvy fit in these; otherwise they fit true to size. When I switched out my winter wardrobe for my spring wardrobe I kept these tan colored suede booties in my closet for outfits such as this one. They’re not available anymore. In fact, they’re from several years ago, but this is the time of year I wear them most frequently.

Chinos & a Sweater

When I begin to realize I’m wearing jeans on repeat, I remember to reach for my chinos. Then I wonder why I haven’t worn them sooner. I find these Talbots relaxed chinos to be so comfortable and functional. Unfortunately they didn’t make them in this color this year. But these are very similar and the same color. And they’re 30% off with code SPRING. Of course the Talbots relaxed chinos are also 30% off right now, along with everything else there.

My linen sweater is from last year, but this one from the same brand is very similar and it’s on sale. I completed the look with my Sam Edelman loafers and a cream colored belt. I’m not sure why I chose that particular belt. Hmm. But I guess it works. Don’t know if I’d choose it again for this combination though.

Black & Grey

And when I get tired of wearing pullover sweaters, light as they may be, I choose a short sleeve top with a third piece. This relaxed fit blazer is as comfortable as any cardigan, so it worked well for a day at the computer. My grey merino wool short sleeve polo sweater is no longer available, but I love this one at J.Crew. I have the dusty shell one and would buy the black one, too, but I have a similar one (that I don’t like nearly as much) already.

Unfortunately my exact black jeans are no longer available, nor are my sneakers. Bleh! But if you like this tone on tone look you can easily duplicate it with pieces from your wardrobe I’m sure. Oh, and isn’t that little girl on a scooter pin cute? It‘s not available either, but you’ll find similar cute ones where I got mine.

Black Chinos & Gauzy Shirt

Next up I wore my black chinos with a hibiscus colored gauzy cotton shirt by Rails. The color in the photo is NOT the correct color of this shirt. And I couldn’t edit it to do it justice either. It’s a beautiful, faded but dark pink really. These gauzy cotton shirts are really trending this year. I purchased this one when it was on sale, but it’s regular price now. I found similar ones for a little less here.

I made the mistake of putting away my black loafers. I’ll need to pull those back out. Meanwhile, I just wore my neutral colored loafers and I think it worked. But I still wore a black belt to keep the proportions nice.

My Favorite Outfit

Obviously this photo is from yesterday’s video. But I did indeed wear this outfit out to lunch last week. In fact, I loved what I somehow created so much that I shared the formula in this week’s video. And, now that I think about it, I shared the formula in a different but similar outfit in this blog post, too.

linen blazer // silk blend polo shirt // Edison flats // similar jeans // multi strand necklace // earrings

I’ve fallen in love with concept of wearing the same color in your top and your jacket, cardigan, kimono or whatever. It just creates such a clean, classy look. Now is the time to jump on this or another linen blazer if you’re up for one. Talbots is having their Spring Style Event with 30% off your purchase + 3x Classic Awards points. Ooh, and there’s that silk blend polo shirt I’m so crazy about. I’d wear it every day if I could!

Great Outfit; Bad Lighting!

Wow! The lighting was harsh in my morning room that evening! And I think my eyebrows were a little dark, too. Ha! Oh, well. The outfit is a good one, so disregard the woman wearing it. Hahaha!

We went out to eat with friends from our church on a beautiful evening and even ended up eating outside. I probably could have dressed more casually, but I was anxious to take advantage of the one day of good weather and wear something fun. I chose to top my black demi boot pants with a simple v-neck t-shirt and my gingham blazer, which, unfortunately, is sold out. But you could create a similar look with this striped blazer.

demi boot pants // v-neck t-shirt in pressed dahlia // gingham blazer (sold out) (similar option and another) // sandals sold out (similar option) // multi strand necklace // earrings

I wanted to point out that this v-neck t-shirt, which I’m wearing in the pressed dahlia, is slightly cropped. I love the length because I can still tuck it, as in the photo above, but I can also leave it untucked and it gives me good proportions that way, too. It’s not too long, not too short. Perfect for wearing with the newer high rise pants and jeans. Oh, and it’s 44% off right now and available in multiple colors. I’m wearing my TTS medium.

Simple but Chic

I sometimes forget about how effective a simple white sweater can be. On the day I got my hair cut I also spent a good bit of time in fitting rooms at the mall, so I snapped my selfie there. Why can’t they make a fitting room with good lighting??? Anyhow, I loved how this lightweight, cropped collared sweater worked with just simple black jeans and boots.

My boots and jeans are no longer available, and once I left my house I felt like those dark grey boots were a mistake anyhow. I had put my black Chelsea boots away, but I should have pulled them back out for this outfit. Note to self: keep out more booties next spring! But back to that sweater. It’s spring (and maybe even summer) sweater perfection. I’ve worn it with a flesh toned camisole (just $7 right now!) underneath and without. And I love the length for wearing over full length jeans or cropped jeans and pants. The cropped collared sweater is also available in pale petal (pink) and retro blue. It features lovely split, swingy sleeves and an interesting collared neckline. And today it’s 30% off with another 10% off using code SPRING. I’m wearing a medium.

What I Wore to Church

This past Sunday it was quite chilly, but sunny. I decided I wanted to wear some color, so I started putting together an outfit around this pretty pink shell I got from Talbots last year. Of course it’s not available anymore, but I suppose this one is somewhat similar, if not the same fabric.

similar shell // Veronica Beard Miller blazer (wearing an 8) see economical options below // Renzo pants (wearing a 10) see economical options below // Ally tender taupe patent leather kitten heels (use code KAYHEELS for $40 off your first pair of Ally heels, KAYFLATS for 10% off your first pair of flats) // Kate Spade satchel // similar necklace

I decided to wear the shell with my Veronica Beard Miller blazer and coordinating Renzo pants. The quality is amazing in these Veronica Beard separates, truly. But you could duplicate this look with this similar blazer and these coordinating pants or this one-button blazer and its coordinating pants.

Look What I Found! It’s the little things that make me happy. Ha! I was thrilled when I happened upon this Georgia Peaches t-shirt the other day. I was just about to order it, but James was running returns for me and he was able to find it at our local J.Crew Factory. This Georgia girl loves her peaches! And I know I’ll enjoy wearing this tee with shorts and jeans. It, along with lots of other fun graphic tees, comes in a full range of sizes; I’m wearing a medium comfortably.

Georgia Peaches tee // relaxed fit jeans (size down) // blue cotton cardigan // similar sneakers // earrings no longer available (similar option) // bracelets // watch (use code KAYHRMS for 15% off your first order)

For a work from home day I wore the Georgia Peaches tee with my relaxed fit jeans (size down) and blue cotton cardigan. I finished off the outfit with my white leather sneakers (similar) and some colorful jewelry. My earrings are no longer available, but I like these or these more anyhow. And my fun bracelet set (as well as my jeans) is 30% off today.

Blessed for My Day

As Christ followers we have made a choice in the past that should daily affect us. If we have identified with Him and received His gift of salvation through faith in His death, burial and resurrection, then we also have daily choices to make which should speak of those decisions. We don’t necessarily have to shout our allegiance from the rooftop because the daily increments of our lives should testify that we belong to Christ.

How does that manifest in our daily lives. It means that every time we have a decision to make – and we make about 35,000 a day! – we consider that we have been crucified with Christ and we no longer live for ourselves. Instead, Christ lives in us. That means we allow Him to lead the way. Do you feel the tug of those decisions? I sure do. It’s not always easy to crucify the flesh and allow God’s Spirit to lead. But there is no better testimony of His Lordship in our lives.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. ~ Galatians 2:20

Spread the love
xoxo, Kay
