Surely one of the most surprising things the Lord Jesus every did was wash the dirty feet of His disciples before the Passover meal, which would become the Last Supper. The disciples themselves were shocked at this act humble of servitude from their master and teacher. Peter even initially declined to have his feet washed by Jesus, protesting that this was too menial an act for the Lord.
But after washing the 12 disciples’ feet, Jesus explained that they should follow suit and wash each others’ feet. In other words, they should humbly serve each other. If we are Christ’s disciples we are also charged with “washing each others’ feet.” Of course that doesn’t mean we have to literally scrub the dirty feet of our friends or fellow church attenders. But it means we should serve one another, meeting real needs with humility. Let’s think of ways we can serve one another today.
So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. ~ John 13:14

What a great post – I am always on the lookout for shoes that are stylish and comfortable. While the mary jane look isn’t always for me (I’m fussy about how and where the strap crosses the foot), I love those Valina slip on flats.

As a wearer of size 6W, one of the things I appreciate about Easy Spirit is that they start their wide sizing at size 5. Most brands start at 7. Well, actually…most brands don’t have wides at all, but that’s a different post 🙂

Kay, we are traveling to England in May. Is there a sneaker you would recommend that would be good for a lot of walking yet stylish with my outfits? We travel light. Easy Spirit shoes were my mom’s favorite and she passed back in the ‘90’s. They are lovely!
Can you recommend a stylish comfortable shoe that comes in NARROW width please?
I think they do have some narrow shoes at Easy Spirit, but I’m not sure. I do not have other recommendations right now. But maybe other readers have some.
Marmi has stylish, narrow, comfortable options, but they are pricey. However, the shoes are well-made and long lasting. Hope this helps.

I’ve found Easy Spirit very comfortable but often too wide for my foot. The strap on a mary-jane might solve that issue.

Cute shoes! Another commenter asked about narrow Easy Spirit shoes. I have very narrow feet, and the leather Easy Spirit AP1 comes in narrow. I love mine!

I am constantly looking for stylish and comfortable flat shoes in a double wide width!
Personally. I seldom wear sneakers. I much prefer casual slip on shoes or sandals . I have a bunion, so need a wide shoe. They can be hard to find. For something dressier, I love kitten heels and hope they stay around a long time.
