It’s getting cold here in Ohio, ladies! Am I ready for this??? I don’t know! But I do have a toasty and cozy outfit to share with you today that may indicate I’m up for the cold climate challenge. Ha! See what you think of this sweet sherpa bomber jacket and flannel shirt combo. Oh, and did I mention this is all from Target?

Sherpa Bomber Jacket (size small) // plaid flannel shirt (size medium for loose fit) // high-rise skinny jeans (size 8) // faux leather combat boots (TTS) // faux leather belt bag // layered necklace // filigree earrings

I’ve been watching other bloggers and Instagrammers post looks with these warm, fuzzy sherpa jackets for some time. But, because this type of fabric doesn’t always wear well long term, I wanted to try one at a lower cost point. This yummy sherpa bomber jacket from Target did not disappoint. It’s also available in a sweet chocolate brown. I’m wearing a small, so definitely go with your lower size.

Sherpa Bomber Jacket

For the low price point, this jacket has great details like the featured side zippers. I also like where it hits, just at the hips. By the way, if you’re wondering, this jacket is not excessively warm like I feared it might be. I was pleasantly warm on this chilly day with my flannel shirt beneath.

Flannel Shirt

So let’s talk about this teal green flannel shirt. This, sweet gal, is a real flannel shirt! I’ve been looking for a warm, yummy flannel shirt with just the right weight, a pretty plaid and not-too-tight sleeves. This one checks all the boxes…and more. It’s a great price! You’ll find additional color combinations in the shopping widget below, but I love this green one because it’s one of my signature colors. Oh, and I’m wearing a medium for a looser fit.

My high-rise skinny jeans, also from Target, are only $15 right now. What??? I will say they are a little short on me in the crotch, so I returned them. But otherwise, they are great jeans. And these jeans are plenty long on my 5’8″ frame.

Belt Bag

If you’ve been around lately, you know I’ve taken the plunge with the belt bag trend, and I’m loving it. This one is the lowest price bag of the three I own, but it may also be my favorite. The belt bag presents a clean, classic look and provides space for the essentials. Oh, and it also comes in black.

Target Jewelry

My earrings and layered necklace are also from Target. I love that the earrings are large and modern, but they’re also very, very lightweight. And the necklace allows you to achieve the layered look with a three-in-one set-up. Both are simple enough to make this outfit look complete without getting too fancy.

Faux Leather Combat Boots

I love that these faux leather combat boots feature an inside zipper for easy on/easy off. I’ve worn these so much recently, especially during messy weather. You can wear them with your jeans tucked in or out. The faux leather combat boots are also available in black and they run true to size.

Sherpa Bomber Jacket + Flannel

This is the kind of outfit I love to wear when James and I go exploring. It’s great for tromping through the outdoors, but perfectly pretty for ducking into a cute new restaurant or coffee shop, too. And wearing a pretty belt bag makes it great for exploring a farmers’ market or antique store.

Blessed for My Day

I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit who lives and works in my life. Aren’t you? We have not been left to fend for ourselves, to clean ourselves up. We have been filled with the very Spirit of God, who is constantly at work to make us more like Him.

How has the Holy Spirit worked in your life recently? I think it’s important occasionally to take inventory of what God’s Spirit has done within us so that we can share this powerful testimony with others. Perhaps He has comforted you and proven to be a close and sweet companion during a difficult season. Maybe He has convicted you of a sin that you needed to confess and repent from. Or it could be the Holy Spirit has given you new insight to a matter which had previously seemed foggy and unclear. Praise God for His Spirit working in you. And share what great things He has done with someone today.

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. ~ Ephesians 1:13-14

Spread the love
xoxo, Kay

  1. I love this look Kay! The Sherpa jacket is adorable. I love all kinds of faux fur and have several jackets but there’s always room for one more, right? Have a safe trip to see your parents. My son who lives in California is coming home today for a long weekend and I am estatic?, I told him to bring his flannels, it’s going to get really cold here on Long Island this weekend.

  2. I usually don’t like the jeans I find at Target and it is hard in general to find jeans that fit right. Before your original Target post, I had bought the same ones, only mid-rise and short, and they feel and fit great! My new favorites!

  3. Kay, You look great in this outfit from Target! I really appreciate you featuring Target because that is one of my go-to stores for stylish, but reasonably priced items. I am in need of a pair of skinny jeans, so I am going to check those out. I hope your visit to GA to see your parents will be a good one. It’s going to be cold!! Oh, the funeral for our friends son is tomorrow. A group of us are going. I’m praying that I am able to keep my emotions in tact because for some reason, I am really missing my mom now, she died May 2016, and tears appear so quickly. Have a great day!

  4. I have been subscribed for several months but have not received any posts this week. I am still getting other blogger emails, just not yours. Are you aware of any problems.

    1. Hi Karen. No I’m not. Check your spam folder and make sure you add my email address to your contacts. Otherwise you might need to just subscribe again. No one else has mentioned having problems lately. I’m so sorry about this.
