I noticed recently that some of my favorite new purchases are on big sale at Nordstrom. These are outfit-making fall finds that I expect to lean into heavily as the weather cools and the leaves turn. So I wanted to share them with you before they sell out.

When a new season approaches and we begin to build a seasonal wardrobe, it can be challenging to figure out what to prioritize. I recently shared 7 Steps to Plan a Seasonal Wardrobe, so definitely check that out before you begin adding fall clothes to your closet. But the fifth step was to consider your budget as you make those new purchases. Taking advantage of early-in-the-season markdowns is a great way to add on trend, stylish pieces without draining your coffers.
The 7th step I shared in that Define Your Style…Refine Your Wardrobe series blog post is to prioritize your outfit makers. These are the pieces that are a little less basic, add interest to your outfits and help tell your story. So check out personality driven offerings like the Vince Baja crochet sweater above or the Paul Green Ursula ballet flat in leopard print below. These are both high quality pieces, but marked down significantly for a limited time.
I don’t just want to add personality and style to the outfits I wear for special occasions or outings, by the way. But I try to make sure that I have stylish pieces I can wear for everyday life, too. The Zella Zella Cloud fleece sweatshirt in pink violet below is in a favorite color, but also soft and cozy for real life.
Speaking of real life, I discovered the brand Faherty recently. Their high quality, comfortable separates are the kind that I can easily wear for everyday sort of days. The Faherty Portia top and drawstring pants below are lightweight, but substantial enough to see me into fall. And they’re super soft and comfortable.
One of my absolute favorite purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the Nordstrom marled double breasted knit blazer shown below. In fact, they’ve come out with another color in this cozy, but on trend “sweater blazer.” The new shade is not marked down, but this black marl is. I like this jacket for it’s relaxed, casual feel. I find it to run true to size; I wear a medium.
So enough about me and my finds. I’ve filled a shopping boutique below with what I’ve seen lately at Nordstrom. These are true fall outfit-making fall finds that are marked down up to 60%. I’m familiar with and own many of them, but I did include some that are new to me but look like winners.

Blessed for My Day
I try to take time every morning first thing to seek the Lord through His Word and prayer. I say try, but I really do make it most mornings. It’s a priority. And over the years, spending time with the Lord each morning has become my favorite time of the day. It infuses me with perspective, hope, wisdom for the day and strength to do the things that lie ahead.
I’ve discovered that I never grow tired of this daily tryst either. We will never exhaust the character and holiness of God as we daily get to know Him better. That’s pretty amazing to me, but it’s so true. Some days I’m reminded of His faithfulness, while other days I get a clearer glimpse of how He sees something in our world. And yes, many days I am convicted of my own sin and unworthiness as I approach Him. But I’m also given a renewed sense of His grace and love. What a treasure!
Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face continually. ~ Psalm 105:4
Kay, I Always look forward to your “blessed for my day” devotion. The scripture from a few weeks ago,( 1Thes 5:11) I sent out to our church visitation team to encourage them. Thank you for being real and allowing His spirit of grace and encouragement to shine through you as you coach us about fashion.

Thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately there won’t be a video this Wednesday because the sponsor ran out of inventory on the product I’m sharing. So we had to push the video into October. Of course that really left me in a bind with no video to share with my viewers, but there was just nothing else to be done.
I don’t know that there is a specific time to spend in our quiet times with God, but if we look at it how we would our other meaningful relationships, I think we will spend about enough time to sit and talk to a friend about the important things in our life…if we had the opportunity to speak with that friend on a daily basis. So for me that is generally about 30-45 minutes of reading my Bible, meditating on what I’ve read and prayer.
