I love wearing white denim, especially in the summer. But this year I’ve switched to a slightly off white jean from Madewell called Tile White, and I’m loving these perfect white jeans. I’ve been a fan of Madewell jeans for years. Even before my daughter worked there for a while, we both loved shopping Madewell for their high quality denim at a reasonable price. But first let’s see the two ways I styled their 90’s straight crop jeans in Tile White.
The 90’s straight crop jeans in Tile White are made in a premium white Cone® denim with zero see-through and a touch of body-hugging stretch so they won’t bag out. And they truly are the perfect white – not too bright, but not really beige or off-white either. They have an 11 1/2″ rise, 15 1/2″ leg opening and 27 1/2″ inseam. Have you used your tape measure like I suggested in this week’s YouTube video?
The jeans are 98% cotton and 2% elastane, and you can wash them in the washing machine. But don’t dry them! See the above video for more details. *wink, wink* Yes, I’ve washed mine and they do beautifully. Truly, Madewell just knows how to do denim. Like many of their jeans, especially those with any elastane, these do run large. I’m wearing a 29 very comfortably in these.
For my first look with the Tile White 90’s straight crop jeans, I topped them with the prettiest cornflower blue cotton gauze camp shirt. I adore this cheerful hue, but the camp shirt does come in seven other colors and white. I’m so tempted to buy the coral rose tea. This shirt is super comfortable and cool, and it fits true to size.
I styled that look by giving the camp shirt a partial front tuck and adding a belt. My belt is from Madewell, but this color is no longer available. My sandals, in a similar buttery beige, will be available Sunday in a QVC special. They are extremely comfortable and I’m going to be wearing them frequently. These Clarks sandals are definitely worth checking in with me on Instagram Sunday morning for a coupon code and link. They do come in other colors, too.
So this look is a color block outfit, and I think it works beautifully. That little partial tuck, while controversial, does give the illusion of a defined waistline. And wearing a belt and sandals in a similar nude shade help elongate the legs.
Next I created what could almost qualify as a tonal look. Since the silk print blouse (also available here) has a soft, off white background, these pieces flow seamlessly together. I’ve added some interest and texture to the combination with cognac accessories.
In both outfits I wore my Ana Luisa earrings (c/o), herringbone chain (c/o) and pebble pendant necklace (c/o). I love the minimal elegance of these tarnish-resistant pieces. They’re perfect for everyday, but elevated enough for polished outfits.

Jealousy doesn’t just turn us an unpleasant color of green. It actually changes our demeanor, thinking and behavior. When we become discontented with our own portion in life and look on what someone else has with feelings of bitterness and envy, we change from the inside out. We can no longer see things correctly, and our greed clouds our judgment.
If you are struggling with feeling a little bit discontented or jealous of what someone else has, it’s time to take those feelings to the Lord. Otherwise, like a poison, they will slowly but surely destroy you and your relationships. I find that when I confess these feelings, God gently turns my attention to more of my own blessings and reminds me of how loved I am. He is gracious and good to set me on a better path from there.
Then Saul became very angry, for this lyric displeased him; and he said, “They have given David credit for ten thousands, but to me they have given credit for only thousands! Now what more can he have but the kingdom?” And Saul eyed David with suspicion from that day on.

Kay, I hope you have a wonderful vacation. FYI in case you doctor did not mention it . . . the “patches” can cause hallucinations. My husband and I used them to go to Antartica. in the middle of the Drake Passage, he started making strange comments like, “seeing an airport”, or “seeing our dog”. I had him removed the patch and by the next day was back to normal. It did not affect me. Save travels!!
Hmm. Thanks for the info. She did not mention that. I really hope not to use them. She said we would need to put them on four hours before the possibility of sea sickness, so we only plan to apply them if a storm is expected. We hope to do well otherwise, especially since we are sailing on the inside passage.

I wore these stretchy wrist bands that press on your pressure points and they helped. I did see some people with the little white dots behind their ears so they were the patches.

I’ll have to think on sharing fitness tips or workout routine. I’m no expert, although I have been working out my entire adult life. Also this BFMD was such a good reminder: When I read the words/thoughts of Saul toward David, a thought occurred to me that he was “feeling sorry for himself.” When I was a teen I remember being exhorted by my mom to avoid this down-ward spiral of thoughts. Later, as a Christian, I’ve realized how truly blessed I was to be apart of what the Lord has done for me/all of us and calling me into his family thru faith in His son, Jesus.
So, thank you so much for reminding me today about how sin affects us from the inside out. As I am, and will, be “cleaning house,” I also need to remember to look up to Jesus–for Him to shine his light brighter into my heart–re-filling me with his Spirit.

I took my first cruise and got seasick which was totally unexpected since I grew up riding on small boats in the ocean. On subsequent cruises I have used Bonnie (active ingredient Meclizine) which has worked without a hitch. It’s available in any drugstore, over the counter, costs nothing and works like a charm. I take one each day starting a couple of days before and during the cruise. You might consider trying it if you are reluctant to do the patches. I haven’t used those so I don’t know how well they work. Just my experience . Have a wonderful cruise on the Explorer. it’s a beautiful ship and the crew are out of this world.
I think my healthcare provider did mention that as an option. We’ll see. I didn’t get seasick at all last time, but you never know!
The campshirt is cute. I love it in the coral rose tea color way. Wish they had it in petites, though. The hem is long and I don’t like tucking in shirts. 🙂
