#NSALE BONUS POST!! In this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Bonus Post I’m sharing my favorite coats and jackets in the upcoming sale. I hope you’ll check out what I like and consider adding them to your NSale Wish List. I’d love to be your go-to resource for all things Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
I picked up a couple of beautiful coats in last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I got a lovely red, black and white plaid coat from Levi’s and a good Cole Haan hooded down and feather jacket that kept me so warm. This year those brands do indeed have coats and jackets, but nothing in those categories. (By the way, if you’re wondering if you’d actually wear a plaid coat enough to make it worth the investment…yes. I absolutely wear mine frequently, but I think the key is choosing one in colors that work well with your wardrobe.)
I’m looking for a warm packable parka like this one from North Face or this one from Patagonia, something I can even layer under a top coat, if needed. Since I ended up with a leopard print faux fur coat at the end of the season, I won’t be shopping for either of the faux fur teddy coats in my favorites list, but I think they’re both great “second coats.” Oh, but I am considering the Barbour raincoat. I like the light moss, but it comes in a couple of other colors, too.
My Favorite Coats & Jackets
In this category I’m considering coats and jackets that you primarily wear for warmth as an outer garment. If you’re looking for my favorite blazers or leather and suede moto jackets, they’re in this post. (Well, a few moto jackets may have sneaked into this list, too!)
I’m including jackets and coats in all price categories.
While a few of the other categories left me a little disappointed this year, this category is stellar. I found so many beautiful, interesting and warm coats to consider. While I didn’t find a single pair of boots I’m excited about trying, I found a dozen coats I wish I could have.

Blessed for My Day
It is so easy and tempting to fit into the world’s mold. Actually, it’s also quite natural. We just fall into step with the behaviors and thought patterns we see exhibited around us.
But God calls us to a different lifestyle. He wants us to stick out, not fit in. Not only is that calling a little uncomfortable, but it’s against our natural grain. The only way we’ll fulfill God’s calling to be like Him instead of like the rest of the world is to allow Him to transform us from the inside out. That transformation happens gradually, sometimes painfully and sluggishly as we read and digest His Word, allowing it to shape our thinking, correct our mindset and change our direction. Have you spent time in God’s Word lately, allowing it to change your course and renew your mind?
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. ~ Romans 12:2
