Happy Monday! It’s a great week to shop Talbots. I got the scoop before I left town last week that they would be having a Classic Awards Event starting today. You’ll get 25% off your entire purchase as well as 3X the Classic Awards points. Let’s check out a few of my favorites from the Talbots new arrivals for August.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
If you love a classic style aesthetic, but you also want to look up-to-date and on trend, Talbots is probably one of your favorite stores to shop, too. I’ve been shopping Talbots for over 40 years, and my mom and my daughter enjoy their styles as well. (It’s a throw-back to two years ago, but you can see my mom Louise, my daughter Abigail and myself modeling Talbots together in this blog post.) We all find styles that fit our taste as well as clothes that fit our bodies at Talbots, where they have misses, plus, petite and plus petite fits in a full range of sizes.
My August Favorites from the Talbots New Arrivals
You’ll see me share this flirty leopard print dress, this sweet green frock and this sporty T by Talbots travel dress in my upcoming YouTube video on Wednesday. They all run true to size and look so much better in person.
I’ll also be sharing these relaxed fit jeans with several tops and this azure blue relaxed 90s blazer in an upcoming blog post. Those jeans do run roomy by design, but if you’d like a slimmer fit you might want to size down. I’m keeping my true size 10 because they don’t have a lot of stretch in them, just 1% Lycra® Spandex. Also that blazer is quite long, very oversized by design. So if that won’t work for your body type, you might prefer something like this stripe knit jacket or this woodland damask jacket (how fun!).
Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel and tune in Wednesday when I share a few pieces from the newest Talbots collection. Until then, enjoy shopping the boutique below that I’ve filled with my favorites from the Talbots New Arrivals.
Thanks so much for stopping in. I hope you have a wonderful beginning to your week.

If we’re not mindful we can be impressed with the way scripture rolls off the tongue and resonates with our emotions, but miss the meaning. Have you ever contemplated what it is about “a woman who fears the Lord” that would cause her to be greatly praised? Better yet, why is fear of the Lord better than charm or beauty? I’ve thought about it a bit and here’s what I think.
When a woman fears the Lord above all else, she knows her own place in the grand scheme of things. She doesn’t fear people or circumstances or change or even difficulties because she knows enough of her God to understand that He is in control and that He loves her wildly, deeply. And when a woman fears the Lord with that kind of understanding of His character she is then freed up to focus on putting others at ease rather than trying to put them in their place. And much of God’s character begins to rub off on her…His grace and kindness and gentleness and joy.
Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. ~ Proverbs 31:30

I like the print blue and brown top underneath the blue blazer. The other items are fine but not anything that excites me. I am trying to save my money for the Fall items that are coming out soon. It is hard to not grab the top. Will see. Sometimes I just have to say wait for Fall items. lol Thanks for the ideas though.
I’m really liking a lot of the new arrivals at Talbots. Will be excited to see your YT video on Wednesday. 🙂
