Happy Friday! It’s time for another run through of my recent real life outfits. These are the summer outfits I’m wearing mostly to work from home, get out and about for casual dates or outings, run errands and enjoy time with my family. Obviously, like most of you, I’m wearing my favorite pieces on repeat these days. And a lot of what I’m showing is sold out or available only in limited sizes. But I’ll definitely link you to anything that is still in the stores.

This post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links.
Since these daily outfit posts can get a bit long, I’ll keep the information as brief as possible. Assume I’m wearing my usual size and that a garment or shoe fits true to size unless I tell you otherwise. And, since these are outfits from my personal wardrobe, you can also assume that everything I’m showing you is a winner in my book. These garments are comfortable and good quality. In fact, as I looked over this post I realized that many of these are a little pricey. But I’ve been wearing many of them from two or more years, and other are on constant repeat this summer.
What I Wore to a Movie and Dinner
I’m not going to link the items I’m showing in the copy here. But I’ve included all shoppable links in the captions of the photos. You can shop through those if you desire. I wore this first outfit to an afternoon movie and dinner Friday night two weeks ago. I’ve gotten to where I like to take one of my wraps with me to the theater because it’s easier to deal with than a bulky jacket.

I think this outfit looked really fresh and a little sophisticated, even though it’s very casual and easy. I think I’ll wear this today!
What I Almost Wore to the Movie…and What I Wore Instead
The next day we actually went to another movie. I almost wore this outfit with my linen shirt.

But I felt like it looked a little sloppy. I liked the feel of this ultra casual white outfit. And really there’s nothing wrong with it. But I decided to go with the sleeveless shirt and just take a wrap again instead.

I like how this turned out better. I think the outfit looks summery fresh, relaxed but also feminine.
Working Around the House
I wore these joggers and tee working around the house that Saturday (before going to the movie). These are Vuori’s daily joggers. I’d tried the other slimmer fit ones that everybody raves about, but they had been too skin hugging on me. I like these much better. The fabric is amazing soft and I like the length.

I love a good cropped top that I can wear with good proportions without tucking in.
I wear my J.Crew silk blend polo tops A LOT. I think they’re especially perfect with fuller silhouette pants, which I’m wearing a lot of these days, too. Of course they’re sold out, but I do hope J.Crew comes out with something similar for fall.

Yeah, those are the same cotton blend crop pants that I wore to the movie. They have a decidedly relaxed vibe, but they are extremely comfortable and cool, so I wear them frequently.
What I Wore to Work from Home
In an effort to find another top similar to the J.Crew silk blend polos, I ordered this collared pointelle sweater. It is a little sheer, but somehow it doesn’t look see-through when I wear it (to me). And it does feel great. The collared pointelle sweater also comes in a pale peach, but I thought that would be a little too close to my skin tone. It runs true to size.

I’m wearing my Frame jeans that I purchased in last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. These continue to be my favorite jeans a year later.
A Real Date Night!
It didn’t take much to convince James to make reservations for a favorite Italian restaurant last week on National Lasagna Day. Ha! So I decided to actually get a little dressed up for our date. I’d purchased this amazing Cinq a Sept Prina floral ruffle top at an equally amazing price and couldn’t wait to wear it. I paired the black floral ruffle top with my white Mother jeans and heels.

I think the shoes definitely do not look that olive in real life. But I do think that if I create this outfit again I’ll wear black sandals or even pumps to bookend the outfit.
Work from Home
I love my Eileen Fisher lantern pants that I purchased last summer, but I honestly don’t wear them out a lot. I enjoy wearing them at home when I’m working. They feel polished and pretty, but somewhat like pajamas. Ha!

As you can tell I frequently choose to pair white and beige. It’s one of my favorite neutrals combinations for summer. You’ll see it again further down.
Work from Home and Errands
Then it looks like the next day I opted for darker neutrals. I’ve worn these olive green crops (56% off) a good bit, but I think this was the first time I paired them with black. It’s a nice combo.

I think it was a smart choice to bookend the look with my black sandals. But flesh tone sandals would work nicely here, too. I think I did get out to run a few errands on this day, too.
Ready for Guests!
I wore my comfortable everyday relaxed jeans, loose fitting linen tank and button up shirt the day Abigail and Andrew arrived. I finished up a little housekeeping and video editing that day before they arrived.

This outfit felt comfortable and relaxed. Perfect for waiting on family to arrive for a visit. I’d made a casserole to put in the oven that evening. So we were just at home visiting once they arrived.
Shopping with Abigail
Thursday morning Abigail and I headed to the mall. She had Nordstrom Anniversary Sale returns and exchanges. And we both picked out an outfit or two from J.Crew for an upcoming mother-daughter blog post. Watch for that next week!

Again I paired white and beige. And I enjoyed wearing my gold sandals with it, too.
Well, that’s a wrap! Today we’re going to a movie and a coffee house since it’s raining most of the day. And tomorrow we’re venturing out to meet up with Daniel hopefully. We’re having a great visit! Remember, I probably won’t have a post up Monday (but you never know!) since I’m taking time to enjoy my family this weekend. And if I do get one up it may be late. Have a great weekend!

Blessed for My Day
When we watch the news or even browse through Instagram or Facebook it can be hard to make sense of the world around us. For that matter, it’s difficult to understand the events and decisions and goings on in the lives of those closest to us sometimes. People are a mystery, the world feels out of control and life sometimes feels like it is spiraling in a downward and disappointing trajectory. Whether we’re listening to the local news or sitting across the table from a dear friend who is explaining her family crisis, what we hear feels weighty and tangled and hard to grasp.
This is when we must remind ourselves that we know and have direct access to the One who made the earth and created each person with love and purpose. While He is not obliged to explain everything to us (and it would be overwhelming if He did), He does desire to give us the wisdom and perspective we need to navigate each day with grace and godliness. So if we will truly spend time with Him and in His Word each day, we can trust that God will give us the insight we need and desire in order to walk forward into each day with a little hope, clarity and poise. Don’t forget to call upon the Lord today. Then wait and listen and put your trust in Him.
“Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” ~ Jeremiah 33:2-3
Thank you. I thoroughly enjoy your posts and videos, and I’ve learned so much from you. But my deepest treasure is your ‘Blessed for my day.” You can’t imagine how often these hit home. Please keep helping us to get ready for our days in every way possible, but especially in the area of our relationship with God. Such a treasure you are. Have a beautiful weekend with family, rain and all 🙂
