Hello, dear Dressed for My Day reader. I imagine many of my regular readers won’t even make it onto the blog today. But on the chance that any of you sweet ladies dropped in for a little style inspiration on this most special day, I wanted to be here to wish you a Merry Christmas. Let’s chat for just a minute.

James and I have enjoyed the precious company of our grown kids and sweet grandchild for the past couple of days. We’re starting our Christmas Eve celebration today with a yummy breakfast in coordinating pajamas. Then we’ll open presents around the Christmas tree and read the Christmas story from Luke chapter 2 in the Bible.

It’s been a very low-key few days. We have no big agenda or schedule. We’ve done a little baking and, likewise, a little eating. And a few of us (mainly my daughter-in-law) worked a jigsaw puzzle. We’ve spent a lot of time just remarking on everything cute my granddaughter says or does. And everyone has been in good spirits.
Tonight my son and daughter-in-law and their dog will head on home. So tomorrow will feel a little more like a normal day than Christmas. But that’s okay. When it comes to family time, I take it however I can get it these days.

I’m so very grateful to have had these few days with a home full of laughter and joy. It will undoubtedly feel very odd and lonely when they have all gone home. Christmas can be a mixed bag, huh? Indeed, we have had many Christmases that were a lot quieter and even a little lonely. And one Christmas my husband was in the hospital recuperating from back surgery. So I’m counting my blessings today and I’m well aware that next year could be very different indeed.
Whatever your Christmas celebration looks like, I hope you experience a little joy today. I’m very grateful for you, dear friend. And you are on my heart and mind today. I pray you hear the Lord’s voice, feel His presence and experience His joy. Blessings galore and Merry Christmas!

Blessed for My Day
ย When the angels had departed from them into heaven, the shepherdsย beganย saying to one another, โLetโs go straight to Bethlehem, then, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.โ And they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.ย When they had seenย Him, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child.ย And all who heard it were amazed about the things which were told them by the shepherds.ย But Maryย treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told them. ~ Luke 2:15-20

Awww!!! Iโm So glad to read your post today and hear about your sweet Christmas with your family. I know what you mean about the different Christmasโs each year. We have to wait until New Years weekend to get us all together so itโs alittle quiet here now. But like you, Iโll take it however it is as long as we find a time for us all to be together. Merry Christmas. Iโm happy I found your blog a year ago. You are so sweet and do such a great job on your post.

Merry Christmas Kay,
I wanted to share this with you: Today I decided to run a few quick errands, and was stopped for speeding. Happy ending, they just have me a warming to slow down, but I wanted to tell you I was pretty thankful that I had dressed for my day. I had on mu best Christmas clothes, including a red coat and matching scarf, and had just had hair done yesterday. I am pretty confident if I hadn’t looked so presentable, he may have written me up and given me a ticket. Just wanted to let you know it really does matter that we get dressed for our day. May God bless you and you family during this Christmas season and in the coming year. xxoo
lol! Thatโs amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. ๐ฅฐ
Merry Christmas Kay!
We braved the SoCal rain to get to church at noon- and got a special blessing to get to take our 16 yo grandson to lunch. We are usually pretty quiet on Christmas Eve and Day (other than church!) and then we celebrate with our son and family on the 26th. This works best for our son and his sweet family so they donโt have multiple events in one day! Itโs been our tradition since 2009!
Sounds like a great time. Thanks for sharing. ๐ฅฐ
Merry Christmas!
