Happy Friday! This time last week I was still in Georgia and anticipating the arrival of my husband as he drove down to join me. We spent the weekend with family and then headed home by road trip on Monday. Since then I’ve been working from my home office, getting out for daily walks and presenting my first YouTube LIVEstream. It’s been a good but busy week. Let me show you how I really dressed for my day this week.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
I like to focus on why I wore what I wore and how I put my looks together in these weekly posts. So I may not call out each item shown. You’ll find links to anything that is available in the captions under the photos. I’ll also share fit information there IF the garment doesn’t fit true to size (TTS). I try to be transparent about gifting; gifted items are indicated with a C/O beside them, meaning they were given to me “courtesy of” that brand. Finally, I’m 5’8″ and about 160 pounds, so I normally wear a misses 10. I have even proportions and an hourglass shape.
What I Wore Friday
Last Friday I returned my rental car to the Atlanta airport and then spent the day with my daughter and granddaughter. We had a wonderful Mexican lunch out and then spent a few minutes at a playground before heading back to my daughter’s house for naps. Shortly after we awoke, my husband arrived from Ohio. We spent just a little while with our daughter and grandchild before going to my parents’ home. James, my parents and I went to dinner at a favorite local bar-b-q restaurant that evening. From the look of the photos below, I’m pretty sure we took them after all of the above. Ha!

That’s why my linen pants are rumpled and my makeup is almost gone. But this simple outfit of navy linen pants and striped summer sweater worked really well for the day. The Naot Dorith sandals are personal favorites because the gold is so pretty, but the footbeds are comfortable and sturdy enough to walk in for miles. These are great travel shoes for summer. I’ve had mine for three years and they still feel and look fabulous.
How I Dressed for a Family Gathering on Saturday
Saturday we had a leisurely morning with my parents. Then family members started arriving around noon for a casual Father’s Day celebration. It was a fun day with four generations of our family. I knew we’d spend a little bit of time outside, but the weather was mild and breezy. So I felt very comfortable in my linen getaway set from Frank & Eileen.

The linen set runs true to size and you can now purchase the pieces separately and in different sizes. My light blue set is from early in the spring and no longer available. But it does come in white, sand, navy and a stunning turquoise. If you’re vacationing somewhere fun this summer, this set is a no-brainer because you can dress it up or down. My mother has one, too, and wears it on repeat. You can use code STRIPES for 15% off your entire full-price purchase at Frank & Eileen just ONE TIME before July 1st. Their elevated casual pieces are perfect for a relaxed lifestyle and you’ll wear them on repeat for years.
What I Wore to Church Sunday
Sunday morning my mom and I cooked breakfast for James and my dad. Then James and I went to church at my daughter and son-in-law’s church. We had lunch with them afterwards and then spent rest of the day with my parents. We rarely manage to get a photo of James and me together, but my daughter snapped this one as we were leaving church that afternoon. I thought I’d share it here since a couple of the things James wore were actually gifted to me from brands I have been working with.

James’ shirt // chino pants c/o // shoes c/o
If you saw last week’s HIRDFMD post, you have already seen my Vince top and skirt (love!). So let’s talk about James’ clothes real quick. (He’s actually saying that he might be willing to join me in front of the camera occasionally. Would that be beneficial to any of you as you shop for your guy?) He really likes these J.Crew Factory chinos. And he’s a big fan of the UNTUCKit performance shirts. But, surprisingly, his favorite thing he wore that day are his Toms shoes. He says they are super comfortable and we both like the modern, youthful vibe of them. Everything he’s wearing runs true to size.
My Monday Travel Outfit
Monday it was time to make the long drive back home. Fortunately the traffic was not nearly as bad as it had been when James drove down on Friday. So we made it home in about seven and a half hours. But first we stopped at a favorite breakfast spot with my mom and dad. It’s always hard to say goodbye to them.

For my travel day I wore my new Frank & Eileen Oahu travel set in British Royal navy. I used the size guide to determine that I needed a large in the pants and a medium top, and they work perfectly. I used my new Roam Luggage large carry-on expandable suitcase and I was so pleased with it. The interior is beautiful and a little different from others. I especially like that the luggage is lightweight, but also sturdy. It’s made in America, specifically Vidalia, Georgia, where I used to visit my grandparents regularly when I was growing up. Roam has graciously given us a coupon code. Use code KAY15 for 15% off full-price luggage at Roam, one time per user.
How I Dressed for My Work Day Tuesday
Tuesday it was time to buckle back down to work. I needed to get a blog post out, so I got up before dawn to scour the Amazon Prime Deals. I had a meeting with my assistant and then I got to work planning and setting up my YouTube Livestream for Wednesday. It cooled off just a tad that day, so I opted for my red shorts set with a white tank top.

This shorts and jacket combo is some of the softest cotton I’ve ever worn. It’s such a pleasure to wear this outfit. I kept it simple by just adding my go-to jewelry and wearing comfortable sneakers.
What I Wore Tuesday Evening
But Tuesday evening I cleaned up a little for a nice dinner at home. James does most of our cooking these days, and he has become quite the gourmet. He made me a tasty dinner of salmon, backed sweet potato and broccoli.

I changed into my pretty sapphire blue 100% cotton midi dress for the evening. As of yesterday Boden was offering a discount with a coupon code. Hopefully that is still going because this little dress is definitely worth grabbing. It comes in other colors and the prettiest prints. The dress runs true to size and I wore it with my favorite gold sandals.
How I Dressed for the LIVE Stream Wednesday
What a day! I spent the entire day pulling together last minute things and prepping for my first ever community-wide livestream. But I think it went beautifully. I went live at 3 p.m. ish, lol, and really had an enjoyable time of it. Yes, I learned a few things and we’ll I’ll do a few things differently next time. But YouTube is always a learning experience and I’m just pleased that I finally “went for it.”

I showed up on the livestream in the outfit I wore all day: favorite linen pants and an easy-breezy linen shirt. Everything I wore (and showed) is a summer favorite…for me and for you. I showed pieces I love in the video, but they’re all top sellers as well. And the same can be said for my entire outfit that day.
What I Wore to Work from Home Thursday
That brings us to Thursday, when the week finally slowed down a bit for me. I was able to accomplish all of my work at a reasonable pace and enjoy a little of life, too. I took off a couple of hours in the afternoon to finish up The Other Bennet Sister and then to start watching Seeking Persephone, both available through Amazon Prime (but you have to purchase Seeking Persephone or have another membership, too). Delightful!

For my work-from-home day I wore my Paige Stevie ankle jeans with a new top I just got in from Anthropologie. By the way, just through this weekend you can get 20% off most everything at Anthropologie with code ANTHRO20. I wore my shell embellished heeled sandals and favorite jewelry to complete this simple but fresh look.
Thank you so much for stopping in. I hope you got a little summer style inspiration. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try to watch the comment feed and reply quickly. Have the best day!

Blessed for My Day
To have faith is to put our trust in what we cannot see instead of living by sight. Do you struggle with that? In theory, I’ve got faith down. I do believe that God can and will do mighty things. But when push comes to shove, I sometimes struggle to keep the faith.
That’s when I have to ask God to increase my faith. I take a cue from Elisha in 2 Kings and ask God to “open my eyes that I may see.” When Elisha prayed that for his trembling servant, God opened his eyes so that he could see His heavenly forces that surrounded them. The servant was able to see that “those who were with them were more than those who were with the enemy.” I have a feeling the same could be said for us.
When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. ~ 2 Kings 6:15-17
