How I Really Dressed for My Day This Week

I’m a big proponent of getting dressed for each day. But I still struggle some days to be motivated to put together an outfit. Since I work from home, it’s tempting to just stay in the activewear I wore for my workout or even the pajamas I slept in. So I keep myself accountable to my goal of getting dressed for my day by sharing my real life outfits in these Friday posts. Let’s see how I got dressed for my day this week.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

I like to focus on why I wore what I wore and how I put my looks together in these weekly posts. So I may not call out each item shown. You’ll find links to anything that is available in the captions under the photos. I’ll also share fit information there IF the garment doesn’t fit true to size (TTS). I try to be transparent about gifting; gifted items are indicated with a C/O beside them, meaning they were given to me “courtesy of” that brand. Finally, I’m 5’8″ and about 160 pounds, so I normally wear a misses 10. I have even proportions and an hourglass shape.

What I Wore After Shooting Videos

I don’t have quite as many outfits to share this week simply because I had a couple of days of shooting videos. On those days I really never land on one outfit. But on this day, as I was trying on outfits for the upcoming video shoot, I ended up wearing this fun outfit rest of the day as I worked from home.

You’ll see this casual spring outfit in next week’s YouTube video. I’m sharing tips for how to wear prints stylishly this spring without looking older than you really are or frumpy. Obviously I’m a fan of a graphic tee, and I think this is a good one. My cargo pants are from last fall and almost sold out, but I’ll be wearing them again this spring. So good!

What I Wore Sunday for My Birthday

Last Sunday was my birthday and we had dinner reservations at a favorite restaurant. I decided to go ahead and dress for church in the outfit I had decided on for dinner. Between those two things I would be working at my desk to edit next week’s video, so I would have no time to change.

I knew I wanted to wear my chic black cargo pants, so I just needed to decide on the top to create the vibe I was looking for. I liked the juxtaposition I got with this Sezane lace shirt. I completed the look with a black belt, booties and shoulder bag. This outfit felt perfect for church as well as a celebratory dinner.

Travel Day Outfit

I did indeed get dressed for my day on Monday, but I neglected to take a photo. It was a busy day of preparing for our upcoming trip. So we’ll skip to Tuesday when I wore my green track pants, t-shirt and denim jacket for a travel day.

Of course it was cold when we left Ohio, but it would be warm in Arizona when we landed. So I wore a long sleeve tee with my pants. This outfit felt sporty and so comfortable for a day of travel. And I knew these pieces would be important to have for my week in Arizona, too.

What I Wore to a University of Arizona Basketball Game

Wednesday morning James and I hit the road shooting photos and videos for content. After changing in and out of a dozen outfits in the morning I settled into this jeans outfit since we would be attending a University of Arizona basketball game in the evening.

I didn’t have an Arizona t-shirt to wear, so I opted for this striped polo top. The outfit felt comfortable and appropriate for the fun evening. I did actually change into my sneakers and Sheec socks before the game, too, since we had to do a lot of walking before and after the game.

What I Wore to the Playground

My daughter and her family flew into Tucson to join us for our week. So she and I strolled the baby to a nearby park yesterday. I wore those same track pants with a short sleeve tee and sneakers.

The weather is gloriously warm here this week, even warmer than Tucson normally is this time of year. So it’s perfect for shooting all the warm weather looks for spring.

Thanks for dropping in today. Have a great weekend!

Blessed for My Day

I’m not an anxious person by nature, but I do occasionally get nervous or even fearful in certain situations. I’ve noticed that when I allow one fear to take root, it often multiplies into several and then an encompassing sense of anxiety does set in. When I become anxious I tend to snap at other people, I lose my confidence, I begin to think irrationally about situations and I dread things that I should be anticipating with joy or at least calm.

Fear is an enemy. It keeps us from experiencing God’s best for us. In order to defeat this foe we have to remember it is not from God. He does not give us fear, but He gives us a soundness of mind about our circumstances. The Lord wants us to see things clearly, from His perspective, not with fear or dread. If you are anxious about something today, I encourage you to take it to the Lord and ask Him to give you His mind about it. Allow Him to shift your thinking so that you can approach the future or even the moment at hand with His power, love and soundness of mind.

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. ~ 2 Timothy 1:7

  1. I always change my mind last minute and ditch bringing a denim jacket on a trip. I get cold easily and don’t know if it will really keep me warm. Anyone else?

  2. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on anxiety. Mine has grown steadily worse as I’ve gotten older. I will work on trying to remember the verse you’ve mentioned.
My favorite outfit you’ve shared is the denim jacket and black cargo pants.
