Hi sweet gal! Is it hot where you are? It’s sizzling here! So you better believe I’ll be wearing one of my cool, comfortable cotton blend v-neck tanks from Chico’s today. I only have three! But I may have to order another one because they’re 40% off today. In fact, you’ll get 40% off everything in today’s cool, colorful Chico’s inspired outfit.
You may remember I styled this beautiful, colorful ruana last week with my white linen pants and pale turquoise blue cotton blend slub tank. (By the way, those white linen pants are still marked down, PLUS you get the 40% off…and they’re still well stocked.)
I first discovered these Cotton-blend slub knit v-neck tanks last summer when Chico’s gifted me one for a collaboration. But since they’ve I’ve purchased two more. I just find them amazingly versatile, cool, comfortable and easy to wear. I wear a size 6 or Chico’s 0 in these, but I could probably wear the 1 or 8 for a looser fit. I’ve noticed the pink is about sold out. But other colors are still available.
In fact, yesterday I recorded an upcoming video in which I’m sharing 9 very different ways to style this one white tank…without baring your arms, but still staying cool. Uh huh! You’ve got that to look forward to!
My no-stain white girlfriend shorts are also included in the 40% off deal at Chico’s. (Oh, did I mention? Use code 23705 to get your 40% off in the cart.) I’m wearing my TTS 8 or Chico’s 1 in these Cotton, rayon, polyester and spandex shorts. Powered by Stain-Repel, Bright-White™ technology, these jean shorts stay white for up to 20 washes and repel water-based stains. I find them to be very comfortable and even listed them in My 10 Favorite Summer Pants post recently.
My necklace is the one thing I didn’t especially like about this outfit. But it was the best I had since I felt like I needed a long necklace here. And, upon looking at the photos, I do think it nicely brings in the taupe color in the ruana. But I wish I had had either this long berry pink pendant necklace or the convertible berry pink single-strand necklace, both of which are on sale PLUS 40% off. My earrings are the coordinating berry pink and gold tone clip on earrings.
Chico’s gifted me this jute beach bag, and I love it. The bag features a flat, circular bottom so that it can stand up nicely when you put it down on a flat surface. Plus, it’s so room and just darn cute!

Let’s talk about guilt. Shame. In my husband’s sermon yesterday, he shared that “the gospel is God’s answer to our sin and guilt.” This sermon spoke powerfully to me, so I thought we’d explore that topic this week.
I don’t like feeling guilty. It’s a heavy, burdensome, uncomfortable feeling. We should feel guilty when we have sinned against God. In fact, He created us with a conscience so that we would know that something “just isn’t right” when we’ve lived contrary to His ways. Our sins separate us from our Creator; and we feel that in our souls. Thus, guilt.
But God also provided a solution for our guilt. That solution was the death of Christ – a sinless, blameless Lamb – on the cross. Because He died and shed His blood for our sins, we can be completely free of the guilt and shame that accompanies our separation from God, our Creator. If you have received that free gift of salvation from Jesus, then you, dear friend, do not have to carry the weight of guilt another day.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. ~ Romans 8:1
