December 3, 2024

With the turning of the page on the calendar, it’s time once again to share a few of our favorite things here at Dressed for My Day. My assistant Lucy has run the analytics and rounded up the top sellers from our DFMD community. And I’ve shared with her a few of my favorite things as well. Now I’m running through the list of a few of our favorite things from November, 2024.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

By the way, could you let me know in the comments if this is a monthly post that you’d like for me to continue in the new year? I like publishing this post each month because it helps me evaluate what is resonating with my readers and viewers, but also because it forces me to really think about what I’m enjoying, too. But I’d love to hear your feedback if you have any thoughts to share.

A Few of Your Favorite Things November 2024

Remember, when you click through one of my links and make a purchase at that retailer, I receive a small commission, but at no cost to you. I can also see when a purchase has been made through a link, but I do not have any information about you, the purchaser, or about the actual purchase. So while I know that these were the popular items that resulted in sales, I don’t actually know if these were the items bought in the transaction. Still, I feel fairly confident saying these are a few of your favorite things from November, 2024.

I’m looking at this list for the first time as I write the post. It’s exciting to see what you loved that I shared last month. I didn’t check with Lucy to find out if she did these in order or not, so let’s just say these were the most popular in no particular order.

Cozy Sherpa Slippers

I’m so glad to see these cozy sherpa slippers from Haven Well Within (or Talbots) in the list because I’m loving them, too. I have them on right now, ha!

cozy sherpa slippers

These slippers are a little padded for a nice foundation, but not really firm. I still wear my slippers with the orthotics every now and again, too. But I’ve loved having these to wear, especially when we were at my son’s home over Thanksgiving. They run true to size and are so cozy.

Bombas Pointelle Socks

How fun! I’m so glad that many DFMD followers have ordered Bombas socks this past month. I love the pointelle socks because they’re classic but have a lovely, feminine pattern. By the way, so that I can write this post quickly and get it up for you, I’m not linking to the items in the text. But you can click through the words in the photo captions to shop these favorites.

I’ve heard from many of my followers that they love the style advice I gave for wearing socks this winter in this recent video, too. Check it out if you haven’t seen it already.

Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

‘Tis the season to stock up on comfortable, classy sweaters! And evidently a lot of our DFMD followers have purchased this substantial cashmere v-neck sweater from Nordstrom. It’s one of my favorites, too.

The sweater runs true to size and comes in other colors as well.

Matte Gold UNTUCKit Shirt

I’m so glad that UNTUCKit reached out to me with the opportunity to introduce you to their clothes. While you can tuck some of their shirts, they’re made so that you absolutely don’t have to in order to achieve those great proportions and a flattering fit.

You’ll see my favorite UNTUCKit shirt below, but evidently this shimmery gold one caught many of my followers’ eyes. How fun!

High Waist Relaxed Jeans

It’s funny to me how sometimes it’s the things that I don’t even really make much of a deal about that people end up buying. I didn’t even share any details about these grey, high waist, relaxed fit jeans in that blog post, but they’re a top seller.

I guess that’s why these favorites posts are so good for me to do. They really help me see what you’re shopping for. The jeans fit true to size; I’m wearing a misses 10 very comfortably. And they are some nice jeans for sure. They did arrive at my house with a strange chemical odor, but after airing them out a bit and washing, that vanished.

Occasion Cardigan

This occasion cardigan from Talbots is so versatile in your holiday wardrobe. I know I’ll be wearing mine a lot. I didn’t actually purchase it the day I tried it on in the photo below. But I ordered it later, and evidently a lot of you did, too. What color did you get?

The cardigan has a fitted waistband so it works so nicely over all you holiday themed pants and skirts. But it will look festive and lovely with a pair of denim jeans, too. It runs true to size.

Wool Blend Cable Knit Sweater

Here’s another top seller from that Talbots try-on session. I didn’t purchase anything that day because I was in Georgia visiting family and didn’t have room in my suitcase for extra items. But I can attest that this is a cozy, warm sweater and the color is beautiful.

Of course the wool blend cable knit sweater does come in other colors, too. And it’s in a full range of misses, petite, plus and plus petite sizes. It runs true to size.

Metallic Back Bow Sweater

Fun! I’m so tickled to see this metallic back bow sweater on the list of top sellers for November. This one I do have in my closet and I’m excited to wear it to my granddaughter’s birthday party. (She’s having two! So I’ll wear this to one and you’ll see the other top for the other party below.)

I love the fit of this top/sweater. It’s quite flattering and slimming. It runs true to size.

Turtleneck Sweater

Here’s another top seller from that try-on session. Lesson learned. You ladies have told me before that you appreciate try-on sessions like this. I need to listen and heed that advice.

So we’re wrapping up your favorite things with this charming turtleneck sweater with a snowflake. How fun is that? I hope you’re getting to wear it some place cold and festive! It runs true to size and works nicely over leggings or slim fit jeans.

Kay’s Favorite Things

Some months I have to dig deep to think of 8 favorites, but November was full of things I’m enjoying. I’m so excited to share with you my November favs. Remember, I gave Lucy this list before I knew anything about your favorites, so you’ll definitely see some overlap here.

UNTUCKit Black Lace Shirt

First up, another UNTUCKit shirt. My favorite is the black lace shirt from this blog post.

Of course sizes are disappearing in this feminine UNTUCKit shirt. But it is still available and significantly marked down. This shirt fits so comfortably with no itch or bother at all. It’s perfect for wearing over jeans or cords or velvet pants for a holiday look. But I think it can be worn all winter long for a truly feminine touch.

Brighton Sunglasses

I had the privilege of working with Brighton again in November, and I loved everything I showed in that blog post. But the item I’m continuing to wear the most is these beautiful, classic sunglasses.

I do have light-sensitive eyes, so I wear sunglasses most everyday. While these may not appear very dark, they do a great job shading my eyes sufficiently. They do offer UVA and UVB protection, and they’re so comfortable, too.

Emily Lex Watercolor Workbook & Paint

Okay, here is my favorite of the favorites. I knew I’d landed on something good when I spotted these Emily Lex watercolor workbooks and paint sets in a Finger Lakes region gift shop last month. When I took one to my daughter in November and we sat down to try them out, I was definitely sold. We had the best time literally trying our hands at something new and lovely.

winter watercolor workbook // paint set

I have the winter watercolor workbook above and I got my daughter the Christmas one. I gave my daughter-in-law the baking book and she ordered another type, too. And my son enjoyed painting one of the entries in my book, so they ordered him one, too, along with his own set of paints. It looks like my winter book is sold out right now (they do restock), but you can see the other options HERE. I’ve ordered the garden book for myself, too. These make great gifts because they’re a little unexpected and so beautiful. You can do a painting in about 30 minutes to an hour. And no, I’m not an artist at all, but I love doing these paintings.

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick & Pencil in Shade 90’s Pink

As usual, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my lipstick shade again. And lately I’ve been wearing the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and pencil in the shade 90’s Pink.

lipstick // pencil

This lipsticks goes on beautifully and has real staying power without drying out. Of course, I line first with the matching pencil and I do use a City Beauty City Lips plumping gel over it, too.

Embellished Jeans

I really didn’t think I was going to participate in the embellished jeans trend, but when I tried these on in the Talbots try-on session, I was sold. These slim fit ankle jeans feel and look great, first of all. So there’s that.

And then I love that the embellishment is a faint smattering of crystals all over the jeans. I’ll be wearing these for my granddaughter’s birthday party. They run true to size for a generous fit or size down if you’re in between sizes. I’m wearing a misses 10.

Funnel Neck Top

And here’s the top I’ll wear to Hannah’s other party. They’re having one with their couple/family friends and a different party for family. But of course Mimi is going to both! (I’m helping with the food and serving at the friends party so that’s the catch!)

My thinking is that Hannah will want to cuddle with Mimi since she’s wearing this soft, cozy funnel neck top. It looks like the pink is sold out except for one petite size. But there are other equally fun and flattering colors to choose from. It runs true to size.

Athleta Fleece Lined Altitude Leggings

I’ve been trying to be more consistent with my walks these days, so my Athleta fleece lined Altitude leggings have been my best friend. Ha! They keep me warm, but are also comfortable.

The leggings fit true to size. I sized up to a large, but mine are a little too roomy.

LAKE Lounge Set

I’ve been wearing winter loungewear a lot in the evenings. And my favorite pair has been these from Lake. I feel like they look sharp, but they’re so cozy and soft.

Use their size chart for the best fit. I sized up accordingly to a large and the fit is perfect. These make great gifts, too, and they also come in grey.

Pajamas & Slippers

I really could have listed some of my other pajamas here, too. But I decided to include the Haven Well Within set because they work so nicely for travel and staying in other people’s homes. I felt perfectly modest and pulled together when I showed up for breakfast in these pajamas, camisole and robe at my kids’ home for Thanksgiving.

And of course, as I mentioned, I love those slippers, too. These pajamas sleep really well, too. They’re warm, but I don’t get hot in them.

So that’s a wrap! Let me know if you have questions about anything. And don’t forget to provide any feedback you have about keeping these favorites posts in my monthly line-up for 2025, too. Have a blessed and beautiful day!

Blessed for My Day

As I read the familiar story in Daniel 6 this morning from my Life Principles Daily Bible, I was convicted about my prayer life. I realized that while I do indeed spend time with the Lord each day in the Bible, I don’t always voice my praises, thanksgivings or concerns to Him. Maybe that’s why I’ve been dealing again recently with some anxiety. Hmm.

While our God is good to provide for us and be with us no matter what, He loves to hear us express ourselves to Him. And voicing our prayers to Him also benefits us immensely. Verbalizing our praises of Him, reminds us who God is and builds our trust in Him. Sharing our thanks with Him, reminds us that every good and perfect gift originates from above. And voicing our concerns and needs releases our anxiety and invites God into the burdens we carry, ultimately helping us to release those weighty things to Him completely.

Now when Daniel learned that the document was signed, he entered his house (and in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and offering praise before his God, just as he had been doing previously. ~ Daniel 6:10

  1. So many great ideas here! Love the Talbot cords, and thank you for the beautiful reflection/reminder on how easily anxiety sneaks in when we forget to live in praise and thanksgiving of a good, good God.

  2. Talbots has had such good sales that I lost my mind a little. For myself I got the occasion cardigan in black, the silver foil jeans, the cable cardigan, and the jeans with crystals scattered on them. I know I’ll wear them all for the holidays and beyond. I purchased the bow back sweater as a Christmas gift.

  3. Really enjoy the monthly “favorites”!
It helps us focus on items that we might have missed otherwise! Thanks for keeping us in the know with not only beautiful wardrobe ideas, but gift suggestions as well! Love that paint book so much!!!

  4. Please keep reporting these monthly statistics! They have become valuable learning tools that help me in developing my personal style and building a workable wardrobe. The list gives me instant feedback when I see “my” picks among the top sellers.

  5. Please continue the favorites and yes I too loved the grey jeans and did buy the crystal scattered jeans – adorable without being too much.
Thank you again for doing all the research for us
