April 1, 2025

No April Fools here! Let’s do March Favs instead! As we turn the page on the calendar it’s time to see what Dressed for My Day followers have been buying and what I’ve been loving. These are a few of our favorite things from March, 2025.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.

A Few of Your Favorites from March 2025

First let’s check out reader and viewer favorites. These are the affiliate links that people clicked through the most here, on YouTube, in my LTK Shop, on Facebook and in Instagram, resulting in a purchase. I don’t really have any way of knowing if the shoppers actually purchased these items or if they bought something else as well or instead. But we’re talking significantly high enough numbers that I can assume with assurance that these were indeed popular items.

My assistant Lucy has run the analytics for me and set up this post. So as I scroll through and write it up I’m learning about what you loved. This is an important exercise for me each month because I truly want to know what resonates with my followers. If you purchased any of these March favorites, let me know in the comments and feel free to share your reviews. We’ll count down from number 9 to the top seller for the month.

#9- Tretorn Sneakers

Cool! I actually got my Tretorn sneakers last year and have really enjoyed them. I got them when I did this collaboration with J.Jill last year. They sell them at J.Jill and Talbots.

Modern Sneakers

That particular style of sneakers is very on trend right now. And these are comfortable and easy on the feet. I’ve been wearing them frequently lately.

#8- Lancôme Lip Idôle Squalane-12 Butterglow Hydrating Lip Balm

The number 8 top seller for March is the lipstick I shared in last Wednesday’s YouTube video about my spring makeup.

In fact, all of the products in that video have been very popular. I know the Estee Lauder foundation I showed in the video (more on that in a bit) is quite pricey. But it truly is the best I’ve ever worn, hands down. That said, I would have loved to have also shared about the Dior Forever Skin Glow Hydrating Foundation that I had been using before the Estee Lauder. It’s REALLY good also and a fraction of the price. I’ve actually shared it here before, but I wanted to mention it today because several viewers commented on the price of the Estee Lauder foundation. I didn’t mention it in the video because, due to an arrangement between Dior and Nordstrom, I can’t mention any Dior products in my content that is sponsored by Nordstrom. Strange technicality really. But I just wanted you to know the scoop.

#7- High-Rise Slim Wide Leg Jean in 1996 Semi-Stretch

Yes! I’m so glad to see these white high-rise slim wide leg jeans from J.Crew on our list of March favorites. These are such good jeans. I can’t believe I forgot to list them in my own favorites. Alas, they are the perfect density of fabric and a great modern silhouette. They check ALL the boxes.

jeans (size down)

The white slim wide leg jeans do run a little large to me. I sized down to a 29 for a very comfortable fit. You’re going to love these!

#6- Raffia Buckle Poplin Shirtdress

I had a reader email me about this dress a week ago or so. She said the comments on the Talbots website were not good and she wondered why didn’t I tell the truth about the quality. She hadn’t seen the dress herself and I guess she just assumed the reviews were more accurate than me.

dress// similar sandals // denim jacket // sunglasses// earrings// bracelet// necklace // tote bag // see original blog post here

But I truthfully love this pretty spring dress. And after I received her email I compared this dress to my Veronica Beard black Tabby midi dress, inch by inch. Was the quality the same? Not quite. But they were surprisingly close. Reviewers said the fabric is too lightweight, but I think that’s the goal. It’s a dress to wear with confidence through the warmest days of summer. Wrinkly? Yes, it needs to be ironed. But that’s okay. It’s cotton.

Two things I’d like to point here. You may not always agree with my assessment of something. That’s to be expected. But you can trust that I always share my honest opinion, even if the post is sponsored – and that one wasn’t! Second, I encourage you to read reviews with discernment. Some people do not want or value the same things you do. Complaints about thin fabric and ironing and what have you, have no bearing on me. And I’ve discovered that many times (at least on the Talbots website) people leave reviews who haven’t even seen the item in person. Strange. I read reviews for fit information primarily and trust my own instincts when it comes to other factors.

#5- Ruffle Top

The number 5 favorite for March is another Talbots item. This ruffle top is one of my favorite things from the Talbots collection, too.

ruffle shirt //denim jacket // wide white ankle pants // belt// diamond necklace // gold chain necklace // earrings // small gold bracelet // link bracelet // tote bag // sandals // see original blog post here

The floral ruffle shirt fits true to size and works so nicely with white pants or jeans and blue denim.

#4- Short Sleeve Polo Shirt

Here’s another personal favorite of mine, too. I did size up to a large in this red and white ribbed polo top. It feels great and works so nicely with many things in my closet.

top (30% off for a limited time) // jeans// loafers// necklace// earrings // see original blog post here

The top comes in a few solids, too. And two of them have contrasting collars. Cool. It’s been 30% off for a while, but today’s a new month so that may have changed.

#3- Long Sleeve Hooded Pullover

I’ve been so surprised to see this long sleeve hooded pullover selling so well. But yesterday’s blog post with Lands’ End at Nordstrom reminded me how much my readers do indeed like Lands’ End. I do, too.

long sleeve hooded pullover

The long sleeve hooded pullover runs true to size. I got the black and white stripe, too. And it comes in a couple of other colors, as well.

#2- Wide Ankle Twill Pants

Hahaha! I have three pairs of these wide ankle twill pants. That’s just the kind of pants they are. You buy one pair and think, “Why not get more???” I have them in white, navy and cool beige, but the colors look interesting, too.

wide ankle twill pants

They’re just a classic, casual pant for spring and summer. The new chino, if you will. the wide ankle twill pants run true to size and they’re going fast.

#1- Ribbed Polo Sweater

And it doesn’t surprise me at all to see this ribbed polo in the number one spot. I sure do like mine. I love my poppy pink and black ones. I have to sit on my hands to resist ordering the white and red poppy, too.

the Trending Polo Top

I don’t know why Talbots called it a “sweater.” This is definitely a comfortable top I’ll wear all summer. It runs true to size; I wear a medium.

Kay’s Favorite Things

Now it’s my turn to share with you a few of my favorites of the month. I’ve shared most of these somewhere before, but you may have missed them. And these are items I’m genuinely loving, using and wearing.

Sunless Tanner & Mitt

I heard about the PetaJane sunless tanner on the news recently, and decided to give it a try. When I ordered I had a significant coupon, but I can’t find one now. It’s pricey. But I think most self tanners are. Fortunately a little goes a long ways. This is hands down the best tanning mouse (or cream or gel or whatever) I’ve ever used. It applies beautifully with the mitt. It lasts, it doesn’t smell bad (very little fragrance at all), it doesn’t stain your clothes and it yields a beautiful color. I use the Light shade, but they have others to choose from. I did buy the Medium, too. But I haven’t used it yet. I highly recommend it.

Emily Lex Gardening Watercolor Workbook & Paints

If you’ve been around here long you know I’m a huge fan of Emily Lex watercolor workbooks and paints. Of course, I also love her note cards and other gifts. I gave Abigail this Bedtime Blessings Book and she’s already ordered one for a friend. Abby says this is the book she’s giving at all children’s birthday parties and baby showers from now on. Truly, it’s delightful.

watercolor workbook (C/O) // paint set

But personally I’ve been working through the Emily Lex Garden watercolor workbook. It’s delightful, too! As I said in this little video, this is my kind of gardening!

Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultra Radiance Liquid Makeup SPF 20

So yeah, the Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultra Radiance Liquid Makeup SPF 20 really is my new absolute favorite foundation. I honestly cannot believe how beautifully it goes on and wears. I’ve ALWAYS had such a struggle finding a makeup base that doesn’t start looking “webby” through the day. Something about my skin texture I guess. But this makeup looks as good at 6 p.m. as it did at 10 a.m. It was 15% off at Nordstrom, but now it’s not.

I’ll be watching for it to go on sale again though. So I’ll keep you posted!

Lancome Eyeshadow Palette in Taupe Craze & Beige Brulée

I’m also really loving the new Lancome eyeshadow palettes that I’ve been using. I have the palette in Taupe Craze and Beige Brulee. Both are beautiful and go on nicely. A little product goes a long way, they apply beautifully and they blend nicely without turning to mud.

J.Crew Denim High Rise Trouser Jean

I’ve fallen in love with high rise wide-leg jeans, and these are my current jean of choice. The J.Crew denim high rise trouser jean just fits so nicely and has the perfect rise for me.

denim trouser jeans

I wear my true size 30 in these. They come in a few nice washes.

Athleta Skyline High Rise Barrel Pants

You know I’m always looking for good travel pants. I like to wear them daily, not just for travel. And these Athleta Skyline high rise barrel pants are winners. I got them in navy and Abigail got a pair, too, I’m not sure what color. I’m so tempted to get more, but I think I’ll resist.

green cashmere crewneck sweater // striped shirt// high rise barrel pants (C/O) // belt// sneakers // necklace// earrings // see original blog post here

They fit true to size for a fairly snug fit. But you want a barrel pant to fit snug in the torso.

Gorjana Bracelet

Abigail and Andrew gave me this pretty Gorjana Zoey statement link bracelet for my birthday. I love the size of it. The rest of mine are so dainty, so I wanted something a little more substantial and mentioned to Abby that I like this one. What a sweet surprise!

So that’s a wrap! Your favorites and mine. I’d love to hear from you if you purchased any of these things…or anything else through my links. Let me know what you thought and how you’re enjoying it. Of course if something didn’t work out for you, that’s okay, too. You can let me know. We all benefit from thoughtful, honest and well-formulated reviews.

Blessed for My Day

We all have favorite things we like to use or wear or look at. That’s only normal…and perfectly acceptable. But the Bible warns us against acting out of favoritism or partiality as we go through daily transactions. Instead of playing favorites, we are called to pursue justice…and only justice. The Bible tells us that a “bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and distorts the words of righteousness.”

Today as we interact with people in the marketplace, at work, at home, in our communities and even in social media, let’s be careful to treat them all with godly kindness and grace. Let’s not allow someone to sway our opinion or “buy” our allegiance with flattery or bribe. And finally let’s remember that God is indeed the author and provider of every good and wonderful thing. And He insists on justice.

You shall not distort justice, you shall not show partiality; and you shall not accept a bribe, because a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and distorts the words of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, so that you may live and possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you. ~ Deuteronomy 16:19-20

  1. Kay,
I purchased the ribbed polo from Talbots in the pink and red. They are beautiful and fit perfectly.
    Mary

  2. I like the wide leg pants along with both the polo shirt and polo collar sweater. They look both relaxed and polished! Thank you for sharing!

  3. I bought the ribbed top from Talbot’s in black, white, red and pink! I sized up for a looser fit. Love it!

  4. I purchased the butter glow hydrating lip balm along with the lip liner and blush you shared in your video that same day. I have enjoy the softer lighter spring look like in your post.

  5. Those J Crew trouser jeans really look fantastic on you. I can see why they are your favorite! I really like the Lancome shadow palette. I’m on the hunt for a new palette – I replace my eye shadow every April and the palette I used to use is (of course) discontinued. The ribbed polo, also really nice. 🙂

  6. I purchased the flowered ruffle top from Talbots and then read the views on another blogger about flowered prints making us look old and frumpy. Was encouraged by Kay’s video on how to wear them without looking older. So glad I did and glad I kept the top. Love it! Thanks Kay you are the best! I have been wearing Dior Forever Glow Hydrating Foundation ever since you had a post on it and love it. My favorite foundation and will stay with it. The Estee Lauder foundation is over twice the price, and I am very happy with the Dior foundation. I also bought the J Crew high rise slim leg white jeans. Great fit! Nice BFMD.

  7. I totally agree with your opinion on the Estée Lauder foundation. I began using it several months ago to replace a foundation I could no longer find at my local Belk department store. I have to give a shout out to Maria, the Estée Lauder salesperson who introduced me to this foundation. Once she put it on my skin, it looked better than any other foundation I have ever used.

  8. What a lovely bracelet you received from Abby for your birthday. The nice thing about jewelry is whenever you wear it, it makes you think of who it is from and smile!

  9. Hi Kay, I agree about reviews. Everyone has their priorities and they may not be mine. A lightweight dress may bother one woman but it’s perfect for me in Florida. Do I do read reviews but with a grain of salt. Thanks as always for your honesty!

  10. I stopped fighting the wide leg and leaded into it. Now I really really like them in all jeans and pants. Since I am petite I just make sure I can order in my size or go down a size in regular. Thank you for helping your readers style them!

  11. Thank you Kay I did buy the Talbots flowery top. It just didn’t fit me right so I returned it. It is a pretty material though. I also bought the strip top from Athleta.
I love it. I am obsessed with navy blue strip shirts. Your reviews are all so informative. Love them all.

  12. Hi Kay, I really wanted the Talbots ribbed polo top….when I was in the store they were out of my size and because we were leaving California to return to Canada, I couldn’t order it. (Besides having already shopped more than my allowable limit for the border) We do have a Talbots Canada so when I’ve unpacked, it’s on my list of to-dos.

  13. I bought two white t-shirts from Loft just now. I really need to find a very good replacement for a Brooks Brothers v-neck shirt that fits like a glove, but is on its way out. I love it so much! It’s absolutely perfect in the size and depth of the v-neck and the hem. I will hate to give it up. Maybe I’ll keep it forever… LOL

  14. Good devotional message. It’s something I’ve struggled with at times. My devotional had the same message this morning. I’m surprised the Madewell t-shirt with the ties didn’t make the list. I really like those JCrew jeans because they’re full length.

  15. I have been saving my Nordstrom notes and in February I used them towards buying my first Veronica Beard Miller blazer. I also bought the VB green purse you modeled. Thank you for featuring VB clothes, shoes, and bags. I had not considered them until I started watching you model them in your videos.

  16. I didn’t buy any of the March favs but I appreciate your comments on reading reviews. People’s ideas of good fit differ widely & not all styles flatter every body type. Also, I’ve found some reviewers don’t understand fabric descriptions. I read one review of a top with ottoman fabric where the reviewer didn’t like a ribbed fabric!?! And another review of a cotton lawn top where the reviewer complained about the lightweight fabric. Some poor reviews have to do with “off” expectations. And some reviews complain about shipping issues, not the garment itself. Gotta read the reviews!

  17. This is a fun post. Thanks. By the way Macys has the foundation on sale right now. It’s pricy but sounds worth it.

  18. Your taste and style reflect mine pretty closely. I always read reviews mainly for fit and have learned the’grain of salt’ axiom! I bought a water color set for my daughter and one for myself too.

  19. Kay, You really have your finger on the pulse of style for our “tender age”. I took your suggestion about hem length for trousers and felt totally pulled together on a recent trip. I sew most of my garments, and I do use you as a resource before I make anything. I sew to stay on trend without breaking the bank.Sewing does not save money, but it does make you look like you spent more than you did. Thank you for your efforts!!!

  20. Love seeing what the favs were for the week. I have the black ribbed sweater in my bag! thanks for reviewing it in your blog. Blessings

  21. I enjoy this monthly post; it’s one of my favorites. Surprisingly, I didn’t buy any of these things, but I have my eye on the Athleta barrel pants. I think the belt loops elevate them while still providing the comfort of an athleisure pant. I think they’d be perfect for a hair or nail appointment, for meeting a friend for coffee, for so many things.

  22. I always enjoy seeing what the favorites of each month are. I really like your white jeans outfit with the dark top and denim jacket over your shoulders! Sharp!

  23. I’m glad you posted the watercolor link again. I’m not artistic but think I want to try one. My daughter just send me pictures last night of her doing a page with her daughter of 5 yrs. in home schooling for art. They did the potted lavender and I was so impressed in my granddaughters painting. I did tell my daughter she ruined my Christmas surprise as I wanted to get all my girls a book last year, but I already had my gifts bought and out of stock in the book I wanted. She still might get one. She has the gardening and baking one now. I do plan to buy the children’s book you recommended. I know her books are good. I bought the Twirl one for this same granddaughter for her dance recital two years ago. She loves the book.,

  24. All pretty but practical items, as they are all extremely wearable for many different occasions. I recently purchased lightweight cotton poplin pants at Talbot’s in navy for the summer – there are times when a lighter-weight cotton is needed when it’s really hot!

  25. Thanks, Kay!
I love the pink that’s happening this season. Everything looks so comfortable and the Talbot’s blouse is my favorite.

  26. I love these posts. So informative but mostly I like how you listen to us & respond to us. We can trust your evaluations. I have been considering the Estée Lauder make up for my daughter’s wedding as I want an extra sparkle that day. My problem is that when I try new make up if the color isn’t right for me or the product doesn’t work on my skin, I have used my budget & am now stuck with the product. How does anyone else navigate this situation?
