White Jeans - 7 Ways to Wear them this Summer

As much as I enjoy wearing shorts and dresses during the warm summer months, I actually wear my white jeans more than any other one piece of clothing each summer. They are, by far, the most versatile piece of clothing in my summer wardrobe. I can dress them up or down, wear them with any color or all the colors and they just look both sharp and soft however I pair them. So today I’m showing you 7 ways to wear white jeans this summer…and that’s only the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.

First, let’s talk white jeans. In all of the suggestions below, you’ll see me wearing either straight leg or skinny white jeans. And, while I wouldn’t mind having a pair of cropped white jeans or ankle jeans, I find that my full length jeans are perfect for every occasion. So if you’re only going to own one pair of white jeans, start with a pair of full length skinnies or straights. Either of those will serve you well with so many variations. Here is a shopping widget with many to choose from. However, I’m wearing either these Talbots straight leg white jeans or my Ann Taylor Curvy All Day Skinny Jeans. Of course, a lot of the outfits I’m showing you here could also be duplicated with either thick white leggings or white dress pants, depending on the top.

1. White Jeans with All White

White Jeans All White

It may feel a little risky, but pulling off an all white look is easier than you may think. The trick is to utilize different tones of white and different textures so that the ensemble doesn’t “fall flat.”

White Jeans all White

In this all white ensemble I’ve utilized white denim, white lace, white fringe and a silky white tank. It’s also a combination of snug to the body pieces and free flowing ones. And I’ve worn silver jewelry, which is a sort of white on ice. My necklace is a Rocksbox selection – a Wilde Rio Necklace. If you’re interested in giving Rocksbox a try (and I highly recommend it), use my code for a free month: KAYHBFF4

You could certainly wear true white shoes with this combo, but since I don’t have any I chose to wear nude pumps, always a suitable choice. And they’re just another tone of white to add to the mix.

2. White Jeans with Colorful Separates

The key to this white jean outfit is adding lots of vibrant color in key places: shirt, shoes, bag. You could pull off the same look by placing pops of color at the belt, earrings, top and a bracelet. Simply use your white jeans as the anchor piece, and then add multiple vibrant colors in other strategic areas, making sure they pull together somewhere, say in a multi-color scarf or in the shirt, like I did here.

I wore silver jewelry to balance out all the color I had going on in my clothing. And you might also notice that my both blouse and my James Avery charm bracelet feature hummingbirds.

I just bought my shirt at Loft about a month ago, but they sold out fast. I’ve provided several similar colorful options in the shopping widget below.

3. White Jeans with a Colorful Kimono

Here I’ve paired my white straight leg jeans with my fabulous red kimono. I featured this outfit in this previous post, but even there I couldn’t tell you where you could get the same kimono. I bought it at a small boutique in a nearby artsy town. But there are plenty of beautiful, colorful kimonos available now.

I realize some of these kimonos are a little pricey. However, I did try to provide kimonos in a full range of prices. But let me say this. While I would have thought when I bought my first kimono three years ago that I was buying a trending item that would soon be dated, I was wrong. I still wear it. And I don’t think kimonos or ruanas or wraps are going anywhere anytime soon. So it’s certainly up to you how much you spend on an item like this, but I find that I wear mine much more often than I ever first imagined. So there’s that.

4. White Jeans with Bright Solid Peplum Top

The sweet thing about white jeans is it doesn’t take much to make them look dressy and sharp. Just adding a solid colored summer sweater such as this pink peplum makes a simple, feminine statement. If you missed the full post of this outfit, you can see it here.

5. White Jeans with a Colorful T-Shirt

Of course, since they are jeans, you can just throw on a simple t-shirt with them. And when you choose a colorful, fitted tee like this bright pink Life is Good shirt, you’ll brighten your day and everyone’s around you! I posted this casual combo just last week here.

6. White Jeans with a Button Up Blouse

White Jeans Button Up Silky Shirt

The nice thing about wearing white slim cut jeans is you really don’t have to complicate things to dress them up. This silky button up blouse is so easy to slip on, but it elevates my jeans from casual to date-night dressy. Add a pair of heels, some simple jewelry and you’re at least dressed up enough for a food truck date! Ha!

My shirt is a few years old from Talbots, but I found several newer ones that I think are lovely and comparable. My shoes and bag are several years old, too. But I simply went with brown leather accessories for this look. They don’t have to be exact matches.

Did you know that simply rolling your long sleeves up and cuffing them at a three-quarter or half length can elevate the style of your outfit? This simple little technique communicates authority and competence, even wealth. Who knew?

7. White Jeans and Linen Tunic

White Jeans Linen tunic

My final ensemble pairs my white skinny jeans with this easy breezy linen tunic. I’m loving linen for the summer.

You can also see how nice a pastel looks with pure white. I like how this pale green matches my green eyes, but baby blue or pink or lavender would work beautifully with you white jeans, too. And this J.Jill tunic comes in several nice colors, such as turquoise and red hibiscus.

I wore my white jeans and light green linen tunic with nude strappy sandals and carried a straw bag. I simply added my skinny silk butterfly scarf for a fun accent, but I could also use it around my hair if I were riding in a convertible mustang along the California coast. Well, a girl can dream!!!

So that’s it. Seven great ways to wear your white jeans. Keep the look all white, add pops of various vibrant colors, pair with one bright color, keep casual with a solid tee, top with a silky button-up blouse, add a free flowing kimono or wear with linen in any color. Other great looks might include black and white or a white t-shirt under a classy blazer. Really, the sky’s the limit with white jeans. That’s why they are definitely one of my summer faves!

Blessed for My Day

Today may you be blessed by God’s faithfulness to you. Even more than a pair of comfortable jeans that go with anything and everything, God is faithful to you. He is true to His Word, consistent in His character and never changing in His ways. As you face the challenges of this day, may you find that God’s faithfulness compels you to remain faithful to Him as well. And as you choose to represent Him well, may you prove to be faithful to those to whom you’ve committed yourself, too. May God’s faithfulness help you to be devoted to your spouse, true to your friends, consistent with your children, honest and dependable to your co-workers and dedicated to your church family. May God’s faithfulness resonate throughout your life so that others see Him in you.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ~ Lamentations 3:22-23

  1. Love all the looks BUT LOVE the white embroidered fringed top! I also love linen in the summer. Quick question, how tall are you?

    Thanks!

  2. Love it! I wear white capris , shorts , jeans or dressy skirt all summer. I even have winter white for cold months.

    1. Yes! You just can’t beat white. Sometimes I think ladies shy away from white because they’re afraid it will get dirty easily. And I have been known to wear a mustard stain or two! But they wash easily and the presentation is so sharp and pretty! Thanks for reading!

  3. Great outfits, Kay! I wear white jeans or shorts throughout the summer. Your “Blessed for My Day” was spot on. Thanks!

  4. I love your ideas for items to wear with white jeans. That was very helpful. Also, thank you for the beautiful prayer at the end of your post. Perfect words for my day today.

  5. Awesome pictures, good advice and I was touched by your injecting God. God Bless you as you continue to reflect His glory.

    1. Thanks Beth, I’m glad you enjoyed the post. I try to include a few words of biblical encouragement with each post. I think it’s just as important to encourage inner beauty as our outer appearance. Thanks so much for reading…and for leaving a comment.
