Recently I stopped in at Loft to check out their new fall line. I used to shop Loft a lot, but had begun to feel like too many of their styles were geared to a younger woman. But this time I was happy to see many fall new arrivals that I liked and could envision wearing for my casual lifestyle…even over 50. I purchased several pieces that day, including these barrel jeans that I showed in yesterday’s YouTube video. But today I have a fall outfit idea from Loft with corduroy pants and a chunky sweater. Let’s check it out.

My fall outfit idea from Loft begins with a pair of smoked garnet wide leg pants in brushed corduroy. These pants fit a little roomy true to size. I’m wearing my usual size 10, but might could have sized down to an 8. So if you’re between sizes, maybe go with your lower size. They’re very comfortable and have a little stretch in them, too.

The wide leg cords come in regular, petite and tall sizes 00 to 18, and you can also get them in a curvy fit. They have an 11 1/4″ rise and a 30″ inseam (in the regular), so they’re a true full length on me, but I wouldn’t be able to wear them with a heel.

That’s okay because I think these pants will look best with loafers, booties and sneakers. The pants also come in a pretty dark blue.

I topped the wide leg cords with a grey heathered relaxed sweater tee, also available in a soft camel color. The relaxed fit sweater tee is constructed in 72% Cotton and 28% Polyester, so it’s very soft and luxuriously thick without feeling heavy or hot. Perfect for transitioning into fall or warmer climates later on.

I completed this fall outfit idea from Loft with the Talbots loafers I wore in Tuesday’s blog post. These deep burgundy loafers work beautifully with these pants, but they can also pair nicely with brown since they have a sort of raspberry chocolate hue. They fit so comfortably true to size; such a smart investment for fall.

I also tried on these Sawyer pull-on pants in grey melange and I later ordered them. Unfortunately they’ll probably arrive tomorrow after I’ve already left for Georgia, so I wasn’t able to show them to you here. But they felt so good and looked surprising sharp. I plan to wear them with these long-sleeve Henley tee for balanced proportions. Those Sawyers come in other fabrics and colors, too, and I’ve included them in the shopping boutique below along with other favorite finds from Loft’s Fall line.
Thanks so much for stopping in for a little style inspiration. Have a lovely day!

Blessed for My Day
If you’re married, do you pray for your husband? Do you pray for the other men in your life? I’d like to say I remember to pray meaningful and powerful prayers for my guys daily, but it’s not true. Some days I do and others I neglect to do so. But today let’s you and I commit to praying for the men in our lives. Like us, they are called to godly living and a holy standard.
It’s certainly beneficial and loving to pray for our men to be healthy and safe. And we’re much smarter to pray for God to change them as He sees fit rather than try to change them ourselves. Ha! But a bigger prayer would be to pray for them to grow in Christ-likeness and to carry out the purposes God has commissioned them to. Look for scriptures to direct your prayers. But it also might be gracious and appreciated to ask your man how you can pray for him.
Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. ~ Titus 2:2
I’m glad you made it to Georgia safely and enjoying time with your parents. I was also saddened by the news about Charlie Kirk. I hadn’t heard of him as I don’t keep up with politics but it still is upsetting to me that things like that happen. Your Blessed For My Day this morning means so much to me. My husband stopped going to church several years ago and he won’t talk about why. I pray for him, that God will soften his heart and he will come back to church and worship and serve God and be the Christian man he should be. It breaks my heart because he used to be so faithful in church and even went to Sunday school and we were in an adult Bible study group. I’m just trying to believe that he will come back.
Hugs to you, Lana. May the Lord bring your husband back.
Thank you so much, Carolyn!
Hi Kay, nice outfit that you showed us today. I think most of us here are ok with you sharing your ideas and pictures even on such a somber day as today. After all, you shared with us recently that this is your job and you do have obligations to fulfill. Just the fact that you mentioned the assassination of Charlie Kirk (also Sept. 11) is helpful for most of us…to not mention it would be unhealthy and not helpful.
Enjoy your time with family in Georgia and God bless!
Thanks for your Blessed for My Day devotional. I’m in a women’s study that is studying the book of Titus. The passage for today was Titus 2: 1-10. I just love it when God shows me something from that passage again from another source.
Kay, thank you for remembering Charlie Kirk this morning in your post.
Thank you, Kay.
Carol
I too thank you for mentioning Charlie Kirk. I know you’re one to stay out of politics (I admire that and have been thankful for it) but this is just about humanity and right and wrong…not left or right political leanings. Thank you.
Thank you Kay for addressing the tragedy that just happened and to 9-11 today. Thank you also for continuing with your blog post as we all need distraction from it all and have something lighter to read. I appreciate you. I’ll be praying that God can use this…. I know He can. Cute outfit on you!!!!!
Thank you for mentioning Charlie Kirk and 911 in your post today. I enjoy your blog and loved your outfit today. I pray that the killings will stop.
I bought the burgundy jacket in the widget. Also I bought a burgundy cardigan and burgundy wide leg cotton pants from Loft. For a minute I thought you bought the same pants but mine are not corduroy. It’s terrible what happened to Charlie. No one should be killed for their political views whether right or left. That’s why I no longer care about politics.
What a classy outfit. Loving that burgundy on you for the fall, both your previous post and this one. BFMD – prayers for godly men, very well said, as they (the prayers and the godly men!) are much needed. As others have mentioned Charlie Kirk, I’ll throw in my 2 cents. What a heartbreaking story. I was driving home from work when I heard about it. I don’t even have words right now. I am praying for his family, our terribly damaged nation, and especially for the hardened, evil hearts of the very sick individuals who had the gall to *celebrate* his death.
Amen Carolyn. I heard yesterday on Newsmax Greg Kelly. For the poor, lost, brainwashed souls. These are the people who celebrate his death. So sad. Godis listening.
Those pants with that top look so good! I am praying for an end to violence everywhere and that we love as God loves! Our church is beginning an initiative for women to pray for our pastor.
Glad you got to your parents’ home safely and enjoying your time with them. I too was so sad for the shooting and death of Charlie Kirk. He was such a kind man of God. I was so upset I could not open your blog until this morning. Thank you doing what your do and your compassion for us and his family. Like the berry, port wine and dark reds that are showing this Fall. God bless.
Kay, thank you for expressing your sadness and honoring Charlie Kirk. It helps to know so many of us are feeling the same.
Thanks for commenting, Judy. I’ve lost subscribers due to those simple comments. So it’s good to hear from those who understand my need to share.
Just bought the grey sweater as I had $10 rewards plus $10 more for my bday month and 10% off also popped up. So got it for $24 something. Hope it fits.
