It’s getting cooler here in Cincinnati, but we’re still seeing temperatures rise during the day. This is the time of year when I lean into easy breezy dresses topped with a jacket. I recently got in two new dresses from Jude Connally, so I thought I’d share those early fall dresses with you. And I’m styling each of them two ways. I’m starting off with the most casual styling.

How to Shop Here: To shop the items I feature, just click on the words in the captions of photos, the highlighted words in my text or the images in the shopping widgets I sometimes include. When you shop through my links I potentially earn a commission on your purchases, but at no additional cost to you. Thank you so much for supporting my work here by shopping my links. Items that have been gifted to me by the associated brand are indicated with “c/o”.
Today’s blog post is not sponsored, but the dresses, jewelry and a couple of the pairs of footwear were gifted to me by the brands. All comped items are designated with (c/o) beside them in the photo captions. Fortunately, the brands have also passed on coupon codes just for my Dressed for My Day community, too. So be sure to use those if you make a purchase.

So yes, you can definitely wear sneakers with this first dress if your outing is casual and you’re in the mood. When I was in London last year I saw hundreds of women wearing beautiful dresses with their sneakers or trainers. They looked smart and like they had things to do and places to go! But I also love this beautiful leopard print Emerson dress from Jude Connally with my pointy toe flats from Ally. Add a denim jacket for nice contrast and interest.

COUPON CODE: Use code KAYFLATS at Ally Shoes for 10% off your first pair of flats. They’re super comfortable and come in lots of colors and a wide range of sizes, including narrow, medium, wide and extra wide. Use their Sizing Guide for the best fit.

But my favorite way to style this leopard print dress in silky Jude cloth is definitely with my chocolate brown calf leather boots from Ally. These block heel, pointy toe boots feature lambskin stretchy suede lining (ooh so soft!) and a very functional and comfortable 2″ heel.

The leather boots come in three toe box widths and two calf sizes. I’m wearing my usual size at Ally (which is wider than my size elsewhere) and I wear only thin socks with these. But they suggest that you size up if you want to wear thicker socks. I’m also wearing the “roomy calf” version. The boots are available in this chocolate brown leather, black leather, camel leather and black suede.

COUPON CODE: Use code KAYBOOTS for $50 off your first pair of Ally boots. I also have and love their lower block heel ankle boots, and the coupon code works for those as well.

You can certainly still wear the denim jacket with the dress and boots combo, but check out this faux suede Hudson jacket from Jude Connally. I think this on trend jacket really makes this outfit sporty and a little elevated. It would be great for church or a luncheon as well. So comfortable, casual and yet chic. Both the dress and jacket run true to size.
COUPON CODE: At Jude Connally you can use code KAY15 for 15% off your purchase. My understanding is that this is a one-time use code, so make it count!

My second dress from Jude Connally is the Anna Dress in Glen plaid chocolate saddle. It has all the fall vibes.

The Anna dress is made from the famous Jude cloth (as is the leopard dress above), and it features slits at the wrist and a quarter zipper front. The Anna dress fits true to size for a slim fit, but I think I might would like the next size up for a roomier fit. I’m wearing my usual medium, but it’s more bodycon than I normally prefer. Still with my Thigh Society “shorts” underneath, I have no line, bumps or bulges.

Throughout this post I’ve worn jewelry from Ana Luisa, which really is my favorite everyday jewelry. I’m wearing the Aspen necklace, the Hannah bracelet and my new Toda earrings.

And finally I circled back around to those Ally Forever Flats with the Anna dress and the Hudson faux suede jacket for a very work appropriate look.

Blessed for My Day
Some days I begin the day with a full to-do list and little anxiety about getting it all accomplished. On those days it’s not so much the number of items on my list that causes the paralysis as it is how to prioritize them. Where to begin??? If I want to finish the day well, what do I need to put first?
That’s when I come back to my personal mission statement. I figure I’m doing well if I…know Him better and make Him known. That’s pretty much the marching orders the Israelites were given in Deuteronomy 13:4 as well. This simple, concise “to-do” item was given to them amidst a litany of other thou shalls and thou shall nots. But if they needed to sift through those to get to the bottom line, this would be it. Today let’s make it a priority to follow God and fear Him, to keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him and cling to Him. Then we will have done everything we need to do.

You look great in both dresses and the suede jacket looks great too. The Blessed For My Day was so good to read. He really has to be our priority and the top of our daily To Do list. Amen!!!!!
Thanks, Kathy. ☺️
My favorite Is the leopard dress With the Boots and suede jacket . So cute And classy at the same time. Love the BFMD. Especially now in these times And with all the tragedies with the hurricanes.
Yes, that’s my favorite, too, Sherry. Thanks for being here!
Gosh, I love the look of the leopard dress with the Ally knee high brown boots. I’d also do the leopard dress with kicks and a jean jacket. 🙂
I like both dresses. I wish the brown boots would come in a slim calf.
Is that a thing? I didn’t even know boots came in slim calf. Anyhow, you might want to check with them because I don’t think their regular calf size is all that wide at all.
Kay very few retailers carry a slim calf. My calves are 12.5 inches and most regular calf are too wide. Naturalizer makes a slim calf boot. I don’t particularly like the two styles they offer.
Thanks for sharing. I never knew. 🤗
Absolutely adored the leopard dress with the brown boots. So stylish and modern.
XOXO
Jodie
